Have you ever wondered why our skin changes color based on the sun? Learn how UVA light and UVB light causes tanning and how too much sun may lead to skin cancer. Tanning beds and sunlight are slightly different, so this video focuses on the sun. What causes sun burn? What causes skin cancer? Do I have skin cancer? How to tan?

Joey Youn But did your skin tan? Tan = damage. Just because you didn't burn doesn't mean damage didn't take place, it can take years before you see the extent of the damage. Plus, the darker the skin tone the harder it is to see the damage, until it's too late.

UVA light does not have higher energy than UVB. It has a longer wavelength so it is less energetic than UVB. Although it penetrates deeper in the skin because it has less energy so it doesn't "attack everything it touches" as UVB does, and because of its longer wavelength that allows it to pass through the cells more effectively without being absorbed.

So I buzzed my hair…it’s thin and horrid. Mid fifties, Caucasian male. Now I need to get some colour and tan on my face and scalp. How do I do it most efficiently and safely and am I just going to prematurely age myself in the process? Any advice is appreciated.. thanks..everyone for reading.
@SEliteGuitarist
@SEliteGuitarist Жыл бұрын
Never understood the argument you'll prematurely age yourself. People were not meant to live 80 years. We artificially inflated the average lifespan with medicine. That's not bad, it's just incorrect to say you'd prematurely age your skin. People centuries before us would spend a lot more time in the sun than we did and by their standard they didn't prematurely age, they just aged.

No SPF 15 is not enough. You need to apply 2mg/cm² which is about 1g on the face. Most people don't apply enough and therefore dont get the needed protection. There has been made a study proving that SPF 80 is superior to SPF 50 as its about the uv rays who are able to penetrate rather than those which are blocked. The study and additional infos are here: www.jaad.org/article/S0190-9622(17)32908-0/fulltext www.jaad.org/article/S0190-9622(09)00658-6/fulltext

The uvc is filter by the atmosphere and the uvb is is ONLY stay in doors and glass windows can only protec u but the UVA is penetrate in our skin and damage then DNA and breakdown the collagen. And can cause early skin aging, freckles melasma, dark spot , Spf or sun protection factor Like the spf 50 is good for 150 minutes And also always choose a sunscreen indicate the words broad spectrum Sunscreen or the PA ratings like ++++ which say you are protected from UVA and uvb Btw the P.A rating indicate how can protect your skin in the UVA . I personally I love wearing sunscreen contain zinc oxide and titanium dioxide because it protect my skin from uVA and uvb . And APPly enough sunscreen on your skin based on laboratory studies u have to apply 2 milligrams per centimeters squared of sunscreen to achieve the protection stated in the label.and wait 15 or 20 minutes before you going outside
