A study that included 36 questions which can allegedly be used to fall in love with a stranger made the news rounds a while back, but the actual science isn’t that simple-and falling in love was never the point of the questions.

Depends. Being open an communicative is a horrible thing to do if you dont actually care about that person in the first place.
@ThegreatMizuti777

@@greenanubis That doesn't really make sense, if you don't care about someone you shouldn't be in a relationship with them to begin with and openness in this context would mean leaving it or not entering into it. And that is _absolutely_ the right choice if you don't care about the other person. Just staying in a relationship and swallowing down all your feelings for the sake of harmony is not a desirable outcome and being open about not liking the other may not be fun for anyone in the moment but is still the best course of action in that situation. Now, it changes when you're talking about just casual acquaintances, coworkers or strangers, where it _is_ sometimes better to keep your thoughts to yourself if you dislike them, but then you never had any intention of building a relationship in the first place which makes it a moot point.

@@greenanubis yip I agree. some of us are open and we have to be careful because people can start to think we care just because we are interested. interest does not equal care or love.

It did help me understand my husband and myself a bit better. Unfortunately that understanding is that I am not with someone with whom I share my values. I mean, we're working through it. I know I won't get that original exciting lustful feeling back. But I hope we can reach a level of mutual respect at wich it will be tolerable to stay together.

Here they are, and trust me they re stupid; 1. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest? 2. Would you like to be famous? In what way? Continue reading the main story 3. Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say? Why? 4. What would constitute a “perfect” day for you? 5. When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else? 6. If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year-old for the last 60 years of your life, which would you want? 7. Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die? 8. Name three things you and your partner appear to have in common. 9. For what in your life do you feel most grateful? 10. If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be? 11. Take four minutes and tell your partner your life story in as much detail as possible. 12. If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be? 13. If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about yourself, your life, the future or anything else, what would you want to know? 14. Is there something that you’ve dreamed of doing for a long time? Why haven’t you done it? 15. What is the greatest accomplishment of your life? 16. What do you value most in a friendship? 17. What is your most treasured memory? 18. What is your most terrible memory? 19. If you knew that in one year you would die suddenly, would you change anything about the way you are now living? Why? 20. What does friendship mean to you? 21. What roles do love and affection play in your life? 22. Alternate sharing something you consider a positive characteristic of your partner. Share a total of five items. 23. How close and warm is your family? Do you feel your childhood was happier than most other people’s? 24. How do you feel about your relationship with your mother? Set III 25. Make three true “we” statements each. For instance, “We are both in this room feeling ... “ 26. Complete this sentence: “I wish I had someone with whom I could share ... “ 27. If you were going to become a close friend with your partner, please share what would be important for him or her to know. 28. Tell your partner what you like about them; be very honest this time, saying things that you might not say to someone you’ve just met. 29. Share with your partner an embarrassing moment in your life. 30. When did you last cry in front of another person? By yourself? 31. Tell your partner something that you like about them already. 32. What, if anything, is too serious to be joked about? 33. If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven’t you told them yet? 34. Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire. After saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be? Why? 35. Of all the people in your family, whose death would you find most disturbing? Why? 36. Share a personal problem and ask your partner’s advice on how he or she might handle it. Also, ask your partner to reflect back to you how you seem to be feeling about the problem you have chosen. Those researchers need to come out of there caves and interact with real humans to know about the real behaviour.

It's sad that we need a scientific study to prove that talking about deep topics is better than small talk. These questions won't neccessary make you fall in love with someone, but they will make a deeper connection with that person than most people will ever experience in their entire lives. Really, we have "friends" that we just sort of hang out with, we might ask them how they are doing, but really, when do we actually talk about our feelings? Usually it's considered weird. So yeah, this will make a lasting impression on someone, but really, connections like this should be the norm, not the exception - and don't take these 36 questions as a dogmatic guide, merely a suggestion, or a template - if you care about people ask what you genuinely want to know about others, not just what's written in a psychology paper

@@888merry oh, yeah, that's a wonderful idea. I remember that case when a christian church funded a rock-hewn decalogue to be put in front of some public building. Almost immediately after erecting someone destroyed it. The christian church obviously again spent money on another decalogue. Then satanic church funded their own monument because if christians can put religious things in such places why satanists can't (fair point btw). The decalogue was meant to symbolise one of the first ever written laws (it was nothing to do with religion, christians said so it must be truth) that had impact on western world. I was wondering why they didn't put there rock-hewn Code of Hammurabi. Or something from Greek philosophy... Like something about democracy In short: huge waste of money, vandalism and satanism When there is a discussion about the way religion has shaped our history and political system there is always a drama Around Christmas my favourite topic is how it is actually a pagan holiday :D

The sun is hot. Do you need another one of those dumb, obvious comments? Or maybe you want to talk about your cheap trick of commenting to popular videos in hopes of having a subscriber yourself? "UNLEASHING POTENTIAL" You act as if you have some hidden wisdom to offer to people yet your comments, especially this one, aren't even noteworthy. How about you try to gain subscribers through quality content and sheer hard work instead of these nonsensical posts.

@@chord2140 they never asked for subscribers.... (Although you are correct about them saying something obvious)

@@delaney7435 They never asked EXPLICITLY. Do you really think they commented on a lot of popular videos, and almost all the videos I have watched, because they wanted to give an insightful message from their unfathomable knowledge? Their input is as shallow as a puddle. Tell me, what do you think is their motive for posting dimwitted and narrow comments in popular videos? If they want to be popular in KZbin, and want people to go to their channel, then they should post quality content videos. It is so damn cheap and pathetic to act as some random guy who keeps on shitposting to famous videos in hopes of collecting an audience himself. You know, I wouldn't have bothered, and in fact, I would've watched some of their videos if the comments they make are intelligent, insightful, and could provoke deep thought or thinking. But no, their comments are so unnecessary and shallow. And that reflects their own wit and intelligence, and thereby, their contents. "Unleashing Potential" my ass. The only potential you are unleashing are those undeveloped minds.

Is it biased though? 🤨 Engaging empathetic neurones will just merge or create a sense of sympathy for another. A disconnect of communication due to technology will create these vulnerabilities.

I did this with my boyfriend...I watched his his eyes and saw the black actually get smaller then larger at the end. I looked up what that means as far as when people do that and it means they like , like like what they are looking at. We have been together for 4 years now 😍. Loved doing the test.

Answering the questions in the intro: 1: a boy I'm deeply in love with at school. 2: depends on what for, and how famous. 3: read the answer to question one again 4: get a dog, and because my parents won't let me. 5 a lot, but mostly saying "I love you" to, you guessed it, the boy in the first answer. And I haven't said that yet because the truth is... I'm afraid to.
