As someone who grew up in Boston and saw him as a coach for the Patriots he seemed like a nice guy but not the right coach for them. He went on to be a successful coach. I’m happy for him.

As a Seahawks fan it’s sad to see Pete go but on the other hand I’m Cinda excited to see what this team can turn into we have to bones to become a very strong team with the amount of young talented players who have all had flashes of becoming the next big names in the league with jsn, Kennith walker, Dk, Witherspoon, digs, love (who started to get a lot better as the season went on). Pete played a very old school style of football opting to take what the defence gave them in the pass and run the ball like hell the whole league is on the edge of a whole new style of football with every year we hear the same things about these super fast kids and every qb can take off as soon as they have presser and become killers throwing on the run or taking it themselves downfield. Modern players require modern coaches

It was time for Seattle to look for some new blood to bring innovative offensive and defensive schemes. Pete Carroll will forever be a Seahawks legend and I'm happy that he'll still be around the organization in an advisory role. The defense has not been good the last few years, the offense is stale with the OCs he brought in (shouldn't have fired Brian Schottenheimer), & this year especially the team has shown lack of discipline and accountability. The next head coach needs to instill that with these players. If they're not bought in, get the hell out of there.

It seems more like early retirement with a tenure. That’s often the case when someone gets older, has/is contemplating retiring, while the front office maybe noticing things, and both realize, that each season, being a full-time head coach, is getting harder. Pete probably knows it, but likes it. The team may also want to move forward, but knows Pete still has something to give. And here is the compromise. If I had a job I loved and was getting older, I’d consider this an amazing deal.

As a fan for many years and seeing Pete chew a pack of gum a game and running up and down the field all smiles I am going to miss him. I think if we can get him to continue input with the draft then would be great. If we can get a good replacement then get good picks and make the playoffs at least once in the next 3 years then that would great.
