Simple, our perspective is based on our eyes ability to process light. Light has to travel through space in order to go from a to b. So light also experiences a form of “time” that we do not, because we are limited to perspective bound by the confines of that light. If something were made of light and experiencing that layer of time, it would make sense that a thousand of years in the lower layer of time would only equal a single day in the higher level. Now as for how we could know the exact relationship between the two I have no idea

Nowadays we distinguish so sharply between fiction and nonfiction - between, say, a “Dune” and an “Astronomy 101” - that it’s hard to imagine a time when the border between the two approaches to Truth was so porous. I wonder: Would the authors of these apocrypha have been aware that they were *inventing* fabulous mirrors of reality or would they believe themselves to be channels of divine - and therefore factual - information? Are these books “The DaVinci Code” of their day? Or is the question so bound up to our own time that it makes no sense even to ask it?

The bell curve of education and intelligence have always been present, but was probably more tricky to define in an era where truth and fiction was hard to prove different from eachother.

The problem is that we tend to look at it from our point of view where if someone were to write a book like Enoch today they could do it on their own without any source or prior tradition and just make it up. Thus, fiction. However, when whoever wrote the various books in the Enoch Literary Universe (ELU) were writing their books, they were very likely just putting to papyrus (or vellum) the distilled "knowledge" of several generations of a mystical tradition. To them, this would have been "science", and what they were doing was simply chronicling and preserving "knowledge". They had no reason to think their elders and teachers were lying or making things up, and those elders and teachers probably didn't know they were making things up or passing on their own modifications to the ELU in a mystical game of telephone. The people who started the ELU probably also had no idea they were inventing stuff because each would have come up with just this one piece of the ELU, heard some other piece from some other guy next door, then passed on that piece and their own in modified form to make them work together in the ELU. After a few generations (which took far less time back then) we'd end up with this convoluted "history" and tradition that probably started with just one guy asking the question, "Hey, what the heck is a Nephilim?" This ELU thing is a great tool for explaining this. So, Stan Lee's writers came up with these characters but they were all just good guys in costumes beating up bad guys, then Jack Kirby came up with the cosmic stuff and upped everyone's power levels, then some other writers came in and added more stuff making things weird, then Josh Whedon came in and tried to make everything work together, then Kevin Feige tied everything business-wise and hired a huge team of creative artists to make sure the MCU works even with all the internal contradictions. Voila!

This is a super interesting question. I personally lean towards them seeing themselves as channels of the Devine as we have channeled books today that are written by spirits through mediums or frauds depending on your beliefs

@@andrewsuryali8540 There are some parallels in the world of fanfic for this. In fandom circles, you can sometimes have 'fanon' - ideas about the characters or settings that get repeated but aren't necessarily in the canon source material or attributable to any one person - either the fandom collectively completely made it up or it originated from a spin-off property/mistranslation/something the author said as a joke one time. Usually, most participants in the fandom are aware of what is and isn't fanon, as modern audiences usually have the benefit of constant and relatively universal access to the source material, but even then stuff slips through and people can forget. The interesting thing about fanon is that it tends to accumulate around the parts of a fandom people find most interesting or compelling - that one enigmatic character, or that one detour to a really interesting place within the world. Against that context, I might speculate that the authors of Second Enoch looked at the corpus of Jewish/Christian literature and felt that apocalyptic tales of fallen angels and journeys to heaven really caught their imaginations. Which I completely understand!

I've been fascinated by Enoch for many years, probably ever since I saw Metatron in the Shin Megami Tensei series portrayed as a giant robotic angel. Another interesting game dealing with Enoch is "El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron". The art direction shows the archangels as talking swans, as well as the Nephilim being gooey, balloon-like beings. Great video, sir!

As a Bulgarian myself I can tell you that the Bogomils are long forgotten. Which is a sad thing. The more I dig the more fascinating they are. It's weird how Bulgarians have forgotten something so great and influential. Also Slavonic = Bulgarian. You can also check the history of Cyrillic alphabet. There is so much stuff that happened in Bulgaria ... And I'm talking about Bulgaria as a coutnry, not the territory and nations prior to it. Because the oldest gold treasure in the world is from here as well. Basically - you can produce at least 5 series around Bulgaria.

I call for a canonization of the Books of Enoch. The New Testament authors did view them as scriptural and so did many of the first church fathers, and they gave the biblical story more background. If all Christians had read Enoch no one would even be asking whether God really had to destroy the world with the flood, Enoch gives a far better and justifiable explanation. I'd love to see Enoch narrated by Tim Mackie in Bible Project.

I think first enoch is canon in terms of whatever the bible mentions would by definition be canon. Jude mentions enoch, but not just as someone mentioned in the old testament, but enoch is spoken of in a way that is a direct refernce to enoch 1, speaking of things prophesied. It's also interesting that the early church fathers while all establishing what was heresy and fueding with gnostics a significant amount of them had no beef with enoch, some even citing it as authoritative scripture. Ethiopian sects seem to be the only ones that see Enoch 1 as canon.

@@jonathansoko5368 it doesnt make much sense with this criteria of "if its in the bible its inspired" to then say "just because a biblical author mentions it doesnt mean its inspired". we're not talking about just any quote ever, but if a book is mentioned, like when the book of jasher is mentioned in the old testament. enoch 1:9 titles enoch the seventh from adam. jude quotes this directly as well as a prophecy from enoch in that epistle. i didnt say what i saiid for no reason. you can just read enoch or the verses jude is making a direct reference to.

Fascinating video that made me think of the Islamic figure of Al-Khidr, "The Green One". In some versions he has been equated with Idris (i.e. Enoch). Others have equated him with Melchizedek or the prophet Elijah, and even Christian saints like St. George, and non-Abrahamic gods like Vishnu, Hermes, and Thoth. So he could make an interesting topic for another video.

He's a fusion of different religious figures like Saint Nicholas, Odin, and the British Father Christmas who in turn could be influenced by the pagan Green Man (which could explain the green suit). Then there are related figures like Krampus, and similar figures like the Iranian Amu Nowruz, and the six Santa-like characters of Siberia. As for Siberia, Santa himself is also influenced by Siberian Shamanism.

Both the "Gospel" of Peter and the "gospel" of Mary are just small fragments of the original books. Neither was written by the people in the title or even had a title. As I said they are just a few verses in each case and written long after the events they pretend to give witness to. Again useless but you are welcome to read them. They say nothing shocking. Peter is silly with a walking talking cross.

Before I make this post I want to make a few things very crystal clear. I only learn from, believe in, want to know, am interested in the 66 books of the old and new testaments of the Bible. I have never read or studied or know anything about the book of Enoch. I know about as much about the book of Enoch as I do about civil engineering. Which is absolutely nothing other than the fact I have seen some videos pop up on youtube with the name and one friend who asked me if I knew of it. And that’s it. 100% honest, truthful, for real. No one has to believe me in what I’ve written or what I’m about to write. I am in no way saying that the book of Enoch is real or has anything to do with the 66 books that make up the old or new testament. I’m sincerely not interested in the book of Enoch. I might copy and paste part of this to another book of Enoch video but I’m wanting to fulfill what I was told to do in the best ways that I can. I have always loved scripture for about as far as I can remember. I have always wanted to know and study the word. Again only the 66 books of the Bible has been is and will be my interest. This is why I don’t understand what happened that lead me to come on here and write what I’m about to write. Im in no size shape or form writing this trying to gain attention or to be dramatic or to find a following or for any other reason that I’m just doing what I’ve been told to do. About two weeks ago. Around late May 2023 I was awoken by a loud (now when I say loud I mean LOUD, like earth shaking loud) sound / force of thunder. It was a rainy early morning and it was still dark outside. After the LOUD thunder I heard God’s voice in me. And his voice said this. “Tell the English speaking people that the book of Enoch is coming to be fulfilled.” I have no idea why this was told to me. I know the scriptures very very well and if someone is trying to tell me that it wasn’t God or that something else was telling this I’m not going to respond to that discussion. Read Deuteronomy 32:39 & Isaiah 45:5-12. As I said I know my scripture and that conversation isn’t open for discussion. Again not open for discussion and you will be ignored. It has taken me these last few weeks to figure out how to tell the English speaking people what I was told to tell. I am in no way making this up or trying to make anything up or writing this to bring attention to myself. I’m not making a over dramatized video of me crying or screaming telling this story trying to get views. I’m not condoning nor am I condemning the book of Enoch. I honestly don’t want to know about the book of Enoch. I want to make this crystal clear and to make that statement very simple and understandable. I am writing this message to follow out with what I was told to do and I can’t think of a better way to do so than on here where people are writing and reading in English and will be able to see this.

Strange I dreamt about a scene of second enoch as a child in which I was in what I percieved to be a lower part or level of heaven and saw these giant angelic beings that had no wings and their faces looked withered, and they were mourning. Which explained their more humanoid angelic giant look.

There is a somewhat obscure (non-orthodox) Christian theological concept called a pre-incarnation Christophany. A Christophany is simply any appearance of Jesus after his ascension to heaven. But a pre-incarnation Christophany refers to manifestations of the Son *before* Jesus' birth. Adherents of this view may suggest Jesus is the "fourth figure" in the furnace with Daniel's friends or the divine being wrestled with by Jacob, or an appearance of the "Angel of the Lord, or, yes, Melchizedek himself. I know it gained traction in certain evangelical circles, but have no idea if it has an older pedigree or analogue in Catholicism/Orthodoxy. Might make for an interesting video.

I've seen Catholics and Orthodox who'd argue that it is the case, I'm not sure if there's an official position from either of them (or the Oriental Orthodox and the Copts) on the matter though

There seems to be 2 Enoch’s in the Bible . The first one appears in Genesis 4:17 as the son of Cain and Cain decides to name a city after him…..In Genesis 5:18, Jared has a son also named Enoch and it is this Enoch that walks with God…. It’s probably two different Enoch’s separated by a few thousand years.🙂

Malkhitsedek in Hebrew can mean "My king (malkhi) justice (tsedek)". But it can also mean "King of justice" where "i" is a remnant of an older case system that still exists in Quranic Arabic and existed in Akkadian.

The multi levels of Heaven-very similar to the Vedas and Upanishads. (Mandukya? It’s been MANY years). I also remember different levels of the Lower World. If I remember correctly, also in Buddhism (Tibetan Book of the Dead), considering Buddha began as a Vedic Scholar-it’s not surprising. I’m listening and typing at the same time…did scripture writers all have the same Professor? This is fascinating, I wish I had more time to get into these comparative religious readings. My professors always said I would be a “perpetual student”. Many years ago while living and working at an Indian Ashram, my Uncle, an atypical Catholic Priest who was fascinated with philosophies, faith dogma and history from around the world. He spent almost 50 years in the Andes as..a rather unconventional missionary...came to visit me. Uncle Bob was more concerned about his ancient Ecuadorean and Bolivian villages, with building hospitals, community education centers, schools, farms and infrastructure for running water and sewage-than converting the local indigenous Natives. He actually concelebrated “mass” with village Shamans-especially during local and church-related Holidays. (One of my most treasured pictures is him, dressed in a white cassock, (decorated by local embroidery and sashes), walking through a village leading a mule with a villager carrying a cross, accompanied by a much ornately dressed Shaman.). He got himself into hot water with the church on more than a few occasions; but luckily, he has always had friends in “higher places”. Also, his parishioners adored him. He recruited professionals from his first Church in the US, to help him in his endeavors in the Andes. Some doctors, professors, contractors and engineers; returned year after year until the church and his health demanded retirement at about age 80. He continued to return to the village, (as did the professionals, their children and grandchildren)yearly, up until about 5 years ago at age 86. I think we all put our foot down when he went missing for about a week, after a large earthquake-he was just riding around, mostly on horses and mules, checking on his old friends. He thought we were all crazy for worrying..which, in a way, I guess we were in a way. He absolutely loved it there and loves his “friends”. (He STILL facetimes with many villagers and even this past year was very excited to help some kids get accepted and get full scholarships to US Universities..something he was telling me about a few days ago in our weekly call. Anyways, back to the ashram. Uncle Bob had planned on a short weekend visit..he stayed for just over a month, making friends with Pandits, Swami’s and local professionals. One of the biggest points of discussion was the fascinating similarities between ancient Eastern Indian Beliefs and Ancient Western, South American, Indian beliefs. Shortly after he left, my children and I also left and moved to Pennsylvania, where a college my Uncle had lectured at, offered..I believe a degree in comparative religious studies. I already had enough degrees, but my Uncle was able to get them to agree to allow me to audit the classes. I WAS concerned about their affiliation with the church, (I hadn’t been to mass in 40 years and had no desire to return). For the most part, I had no issues, (one nun and a priest from India could be a bit overbearing…nothing I couldn’t handle), AND, I was “blessed” with an extremely open-minded professor who taught most of the classes. He gave me his copy of Elaine Pagel’s books in the 2nd week..I KNEW we would get along. I was there for most of about 4 years, absorbing as much as I could in between work, kids and life. But, alas, whether it’s my gift of ADD..OR I was just ready for my next adventure… I still have most of my books I had planned on giving my dear, very like-minded Son. Unfortunately, he passed away in June from post-virus complications. Hopefully I’ll find a young person who would appreciate these books on different faiths and philosophies. This was a topic my son and I could talk for hours about..I miss that. But, I am now taking on his legacy of attempting to learn Chinese, reading and talking about Chinese history and culture through his friends and some elders and professors in China his friends have introduced me to. Now, I just need to improve my health so I can actually visit this country and people that my son fell in love with! Thank you for some fantastic videos!

As an aside, there are a group of pagan Israelis who are trying to reconstruct Semitic Paganism. They worship the fire god El as the head of their pantheon instead of as a monotheistic god. El's wife Asherah, the goddess of seas and rivers, is also worshiped beside him. They even brought back Asherah poles, something that was explicitly forbidden in the Old Testament yet was common among the pagan ancient Israelites/Canaanites.
