I wonder how our boy would feel about Tropico 6-- assuming he's not sick of city builders by now... I'm sure the lives of the average tropican citizen would be improved ten fold with such a benevolent visionary like Devin at the head of a dictatorial regime, and most certainly wouldn't be living in terror of being hosed down in the street with machine guns for differing political views...

Ah the demographic decline issue. I learned of this while playing Banished, I got around that by just staggering when I built new houses every year or so rather than all at once. But yeah, it's one of those "you don't realise you lost at the very start of the game" type of things these games sneakily throw at you. It's also kind of topical, as a lot of countries today are suffering serious demographic problems which don't seem to be taken very seriously.

Oriental Empires gang where you at? Out of curiosity on topic of old games did you ever play Theocracy? Mezoamerican rts with both economy managment and combat. Cause I would enjoy seeing how you manage it and prepare for Spanish Invasion xD

Actually, I think I know the solution to population aging. You can call it _Tactical Displacement_ . Simply, gradually delete or degrade houses, and rebuild them soon after. I doubt the game tracks the age of homeless people, so perhaps if they move back instantly they will start at default age. If not, just let new immigrants come. Life finds a way!

I wonder. The only official way is to build housing slowly as immigrants are always young, so getting a new more each year is good demographics. But if you were to 'accidentally' remove the temples or something to half-devolve the town, you get fresh blood when the houses build back up. Essentially what you suggested. A very random little side concern to have in the game!
