The more we talk about Freddie Mercury, the less it is. If there was only one Queen song, "Bohemian Rhapsody", that existed, Freddie Mercury would still be one of the greatest singers to have ever existed and Queen would still be legends!
Although, the quality that really sets him apart from every other vocalist on the planet is Freddie's versatility. He could go from opera to hard rock without a single flaw! People argue that Freddie was overrated - by no means! He deserved all the recognition he got, if not even more!
His singing voice is unparalleled. In 2016, a group of Austrian, Czech, and Swedish researchers conducted a study on Freddie’s mind-blowing vocal talent. And it basically confirmed what we already knew - that Freddie’s vocals were truly one-of-a-kind.

IA that What made their live performances so legendary was Freddie’s ability to make it a shared experience between band & audience. And it was usually very spontaneous. Freddie's teeth were also a bit bucked, making an excellent acoustical chamber to impact fullness/richness of tone. Freddie would have no more gotten dental work as Barbra Streisand would get a nose job (and she doesn't have extra nostrils).
