personally I would probably spend the extra to get the non-f variant. integrated graphics from 12th gen and newer paired with an arc gpu allows you to use Deep Link. You also have a functional PC when you sold your current gpu and are waiting for the new one to arrive, you can switch over to integrated graphics to help trouble shooting gpu problems and you can use intel quick sync instead of amds encoders if you have an amd gpu

A better version I think. Ryzen 4000 was litteraly ryzen 3000 without pcie4.0, because ryzen 4000 was simply the zen 2 APUs for laptop because laptop APUs was an architecture gen late compared to CPU desktop market. Except 4000G APUs which was zen 2 update for desktop APUs (3000G was on zen+ unlike 3000(x) CPU on zen2) absoluetly no other ryzen 4000 CPU should have come to desktop as it makes absolutely no sens (btw R 4000 destktop was not a real gen, with an official lauch as I recall)

I started on that 12th gen i3 last january. Not the one that just passed but around a year and a half ago now, it was a phenomenal chip. I paired it with a 2080 super and had a great time at 1080p. Now I'm on a 12600k and a 3080 and I'm having a great time at 1440p and 4K LOL but still that chip was phenomenal for the price. At that time, there wasn't a single AAA game that wouldn't run at 60 FPS with that combination at 1080p. Cyberpunk needed dlss quality but I also did not have everything set to low and it was a good experience. I didn't play through the entire game until recently with my current hardware but from what I did play, it didn't drop below 60 for my average, and if it did drop below 60 it was just a few dropped frames and not hitching or stuttering. Nothing lowering some settings couldn't have fixed I'm sure, but playing with the controller and keeping my expectations reasonable for the hardware that I was on it was a super cheap super great build.

I recently got the 5800x3d to pair with my 4070ti. I play at 1440p and try to max out my 165hz monitor when i can. I definitely noticed better %1 lows and higher averages. I mostly play competitive fps games so this combo is perfect for my needs

the biggest upgrade i masde to my build in terms of cpu performance was with an i3. i went from the i5 2400f to the i3 10100f. i think i went from single digits in cyberpunk with the 1030 to well over double that. of course i upgraded to rtx a few months later but at the time it was night and day

It's because the 14th Gen is the 13th Gen but with a small boost in performance. Actually Intel 14th Gen codenamed Meteor Lake is supposedly released with a new architecture but they failed (as usual) to clock a better result in engineering samples. The new architecture is unstable, so they skipped releasing it, but since they have announced 14th Gen is coming out, they just release the same old chip under the 'new' product name.

I paid the 10 bucks extra for the i3 with internal graphics. You'll never know when your gpu might run into issues and then your out of luck without an alternative.
