Success story, Dan! My daughter put her kids to bed, but for 45 mins, her eldest (6 yrs old) had no sleep in his eyes. She called me to watch them while she went out. As soon as she left, I put this on for him and he was already out when I checked on him 10 mins later. Thank you!

This is a wonderful story to go to sleep to. it's nice and long and the backward counting is really helpful to keep you in a state of relaxation. For anyone who might be hesitantto listen to these stories I can say I don't think you have anything to worry about I've listened to them both awake and asleep and you're always totally in control. Thank you so Dan Jones thank you so much!!!!!!!

This is one of my favorite videos of yours. The only negative is that when i find myself bored at a work meeting and starting to drift and get sleepy, I will sometimes hear you in my head, which is dangerous. I'm just waiting for the day where I burst out "Dan, this is neither the time not the place!!" 😄
@introvertedfox68265 жыл бұрын
So, some thoughts... As mentioned above, this is one of the favorite tracks to fall asleep to, I'm also partial to your inductions. I do enjoy your sleep stories as well (when I listened to the dog one it took me three nights to finish it because I fell asleep roughly 20 minutes in each time). Not just on your channel, because I do also enjoy your other content, but for youtube sleep aid tracks in general. Yeah, sorry but for better or worse you have a very soothing voice and cadence, unfortunetlly this talent seems to be more of the latter, which brings me to my current dilema. After learning that these sleep stories (not actually sure you consider this and the inductions sleep stories) make you so angry, I fnd that listening to this is actually having the opposite effect as intended because all my brain is thinking is how angry and unhappy you were while creating it and how my listening to them is adding to your irritation. None of this is to try and make you feel guilty, just my personal reactions/observations. All of that aside however, in my opinion, if you dislike doing this type of content so much, don't. Your mental and emotional health is always more important than money, at least assuming you don't need the income from this channel to live a reasonably comfortable life. Even then, there are ways of earning income, youtube or otherwise, which are less determinetal to your wellbeing. At the end of the day your personal wellbeing is more important than the reaction some may have to changes you make Your listeners will figure something out, either get the content from from another souce, deciding for themselves, whether or not it's worth paying for the full library or by finding other creators with similar content. Personally, I cannot afford the cost of the apps in order to access the content I'm interested in, however I'd likely simply move to other creators and continue here for the mental health/autism content. . I'd rather do this then know I was contributing to your unhappiness.

It's really creepy cuz the moral of these stories get bleak or dismal, be careful what goes into your subconscious
@DanJonesHypnosis5 жыл бұрын
I'm curious what you find bleak and dismal? They are all positive and therapeutic doing just as I do in therapy with clients. With positive morality about peace, love, compassion, kindness, with topics of self-expression, using your innate essential skills correctly and meeting your innate emotional needs correctly, they teach how to address worry and how to manage stress and anxiety, etc... I make all of my stories positive to the point where before my Dad died some of his last comments were that he couldn't understand why I wasn't a christian (he was a Jehovah's Witness and wanted me to be) given the healing I do through storytelling etc, and that he wanted me to never give it up, whether I become christian in the future or not. He never used to praise anyone, and I take more notice of him saying they have morals etc, than someone commenting on many of my videos as you have been, to tell people they don't and to warn people that my stories are dark and negative...

They do make me fall asleep before the end, but I listened to them during the day all the way through and these stories are kind of creepy, I don't want that going into my subconscious
@DanJonesHypnosis5 жыл бұрын
All the stories are positive, containing positive metaphors for managing stress, worry and anxiety exactly as I do in therapy. None are negative or have anything negative in them. As mentioned in a previous reply the only negative in any of my stories is one Dragon's story where a dragon gets battled and my Dragon's Fire stories teach about stress, anxiety and worry and are positive in many ways but are made to be like Lord of the Rings type stories and have Dragon's fought and killed. My whole thing in all the therapy I do is that it is positive and empowering and teaches skills and promotes healthy ways of living life and using your innate skills positively and meeting your innate needs appropriately. Usually comments are about how positive and insightful and spiritual etc the stories are and for over a decade I have refused to make negative stories, I am asked every couple of weeks to make stories with darker tones of lime horror sleep stories and every time I refused because my stories are about positivity, hope, love, self belief and self expression and wellbeing.

@DanJonesHypnosis5 жыл бұрын
To create my stories I generate a random list of words which I use. Once each week I create a story with ideas suggested by viewers on a post in my channels Facebook group, I go to this list to get the ideas for that weekly meditation, so that is the best place to suggest ideas to be included in a story. Fairies have been in many of my recent sleep meditations.

I dont get it. Why ask someone trying to sleep to count to 7 and 11? Too much.
@DanJonesHypnosis5 жыл бұрын
Longer out-breaths than in-breaths trigger the relaxation response, so that is one reason for 7-11 breathing, so that the listener is breathing in a way that is physiologically triggering the relaxation response, the other is that if someone is counting in to 7 and out to 11, then they aren't talking to themselves and worrying etc, one of the main things people do that stops them falling asleep. You are giving them something else to focus on that doesn't have emotional content, and then after a few minutes they gradually forget about the counting, but now aren't talking to themselves and doing the behaviours which keep them awake. This coupled with the fact that they will now have been triggering the relaxation response for a while and the breathing like this normally continues and in the early stages of sleep is the type of breathing people develop, makes it increasingly likely they will fall asleep.
@PumaLyn5 жыл бұрын
And it will take you 54:07 minutes to fall asleep?!😲😂😂😂😂
