But as a black man, I can't help but notice a common theme of movies/shows placed on the shelf. Sure, there may be others but I can name FOUR projects with a black lead that are on the shelf. Great opinion on a low budget Shang-Chi sequel. That’s what “black widow“ should have been. It should’ve been directed by a Paul Greengrass type, as essentially a Bourne identity thriller, with no CGI. Not every movie needs to involve an invisible hovering fortress , a world ending assassination ring, or a secret dragon. Movies can have simpler problems and still be compelling and move the overall story along.

Ok. Hear me out. What if Armor Wars is used post Secret Wars in the MCU soft reboot? Stark Tech is being used by the government as more of an iron fist, and while Rhodey may “win” in the end some of the tech gets used to launch the Sentinel program in the MCU.

I would have actually really liked to see a Vision Quest series as a team-ups show. Each episode, Vis tracks down another superhero to try to answer for him the deeper philosophical questions he faces in his unique position. They team up to fight a bad guy, preferably more obscure ones who we wouldn't normally get to see in the MCU, and during it all, one way or another, Vis has his little "a-ha moment," so he can move on to the next locale and the next hero to answer the next question. Meanwhile, agents are on the chase but Vis barely notices and 1-shots them in the 2nd to last episode, leaving the final episode to be him actually building the house in Westview, only to realize that Wanda is dead/evil/gone/whatever.

Did everyone forget about Dr. Strange? He went off with Clea so they need to tie a bow in that (and have the audience meet Clea) before Secret Wars and possibly Doomsday. Especially because he is such a strong and important character. Plus, he kind of ties a lot of characters together. I don't understand saying "I don't need to see him in Secret Wars" about ANY MCU character. Secret Wars is supposed to be ALL the heroes versus ALL the villains. We need EVERY character we've seen in the MCU. In fact we need characters we haven't seen in the MCU! White Vision, Moon Knight, Daredevil, She-Hulk, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, Ms. Marvel, young Hawkeye, Shang-Chi, America Chavez, whoever. the sickest thing they could do before retiring the old heroes is make a team led by Wes Blade with Tobey Spidey and Hugh Wolverine to pay respect to the beginning of Marvel Cinema history somehow lead into joining the Avengers on Battle World Blade could lead and Hugh would convince Fox characters to join then Tobey could convince the other Spider-Men to join which includes Garfield and Holland and all the other Sony people joining to help the MCU heroes

'Kay, hard NO on Spider-Man 4 set on Battleworld. No Way Promised me a back-to-basics Spider-Man and that's all I want. No multiverse shenanigans. Have Spider-Man join in on that in the Avengers films, sure. But keep Spider-Man 4 a simple street level story. Also, Vision Quest is one of my MOST anticipated stories and I can't fathom why you guys aren't excited for it. WandaVision was such an amazing run, so more of that is always welcome. And White Vision looks awesome. Leave him as is. Okoye is definitely a project that doesn't need to happen. This was a tremendous video with great insight. I’m excited for the future of the MCU but I will say this about two films: 1. Spider-Man 4 is a VITAL/IMPORTANT/KEY movie to the MCU and needs to be treated as such. I love both arguments that Cameron and Colton made about how to handle it, I’ll lean towards what Cameron said though, we don’t need more Spider-Men crossover we need to focus on Tom’s Spider-Man/Peter Parker and his world, his lore, his characters. I wanna see Black Cat, Norman Osborne, Harry Osborne, Hammerhead, Tombstone, Scorpion, etc introduced in this movie and it to be grounded in the city of New York. No more multiverse stuff. Spider-Man 5 should definitely be a venom movie but I’m torn on how it happens, in battle world or on 616. Either way, do it right 2. MAHERSHALA ALI BLADE NEEDS TO HAPPEN and it isn’t hard. The cast is already shaping up to be nice. Build this dark, magical and mystical corner of the MCU and start it off with a bang with Blade. Don’t disrespect the legacy of the character that started you off

They're not. I predict that Doctor Doom will be a Tony variant that killed Bucky and Captain America at the end of Civil War. He never gets back with Pepper and has Morgan. The Avengers are never reformed (most are in prison or on the run). Tony will rebuild Sokovia to help his grief and guilt into an MCU Latveria. Stark will then begin to try and perfect his Ultron plans creating the Doombots to protect humanity. Tony will stop Thanos with the infinity gauntlet. His tech will mostly protect him and scar up his face. He'll then adopt the Victor Von Doom moniker, and eventually go on to try and protect his universe as a villain in Avengers: Doomsday.

I want Dr Doom to give Peter 1 the Venom symbiote as a way to get him on-side, manipulating Peter 1 by revealing his face because by that point Doom has learned of 616 Tony Stark and seen footage of Iron Man and Spider-Man from Civil War, Homecoming, and Infinity War and seen Spider-Man’s reliance on Stark-tech. Peter 1 accepts because he’s already lost everything but now has a chance at reconciling with a version of his late father figure who will promise to undo the spell making everyone forget him without the bad consequences (because Doom knows magic too, don’t forget!). Then, elsewhere, Peter 2 and Peter 3 manage to get drafted by the Avengers (fulfilling that promise made in No Way Home where they don’t know who the Avengers are), learn of Peter 1’s new suit. Peter 2 knows what it is and he and Peter 3 go on a mission to save Peter 1 (fulfilling the promise of Peter 3 getting to face an alien made in No Way Home). Peter 2 already knows Venom’s weakness, so seeing Peter 1 flee their first encounter then return with some sonic dampening tech from Doom for the rematch would be a cool escalation. By the conclusion, this means that Peter 2 has managed to, literally or symbolically, undo the deaths of the Green Goblin, Dr Octopus, and Venom from his own world. Peter 2 could also fail to get through to Peter 1 because all of his speeches appeal to things Peter 1 no longer has, where Peter 2 is able to get through because they both permanently lost their respective love interests. This can bring more closure and emotional resonance to Peter 3, allowing him to shine where it might be more obvious to let Peter 2 be the one to solve it because of the Venom connection. This film can simultaneously be both grand in scale and yet an intimate story, including the other Peters Parker and their respective experiences as mirrors to 616-Peter. By the end, Peter 1 can reject any need for a father figure at all. What would be nice is if Doom gives a warped version quote like “with great power comes great arrogance” as he derides Tony. Simultaneously setting Peter against him a little, but also echoing what Happy said in Far From Home, and making Peter realise that it applies to him as well. That he is treading that same path, just like he did in No Way Home when he endangered the multiverse. This could be the final nail in the coffin that makes Peter commit to being street level, having gotten swept up in the glamour of Avenging.

Comparing Scarlet Witch in MoM to Cersei Lannister is wrong as hell. Wanda was absolutely desperate to reunite with her children, the Darkhold fed on her desires. How hard is that to understand? Cersei was a narcissist that was using her children t to gain power, by the end of the show, she indirectly kills Tommen and she seemingly doesn’t care (because D&D never understood her book self, she’s a narcissistic paranoid hot mess that is slowly but surely becoming Robert while thinking she is Tywin and horribly mistaken. It’s glorious to behold, the ridiculous woman). Honestly, I think this rumour belongs in the trash.

You guys made a lot of good points. There are a lot of projects/possibilities that I simply don't care about but maybe they've learned a few things?? I think, and I'm sure this will be met with mixed reactions, that the greatest disservice to Black Panther was the choice to not re-cast. I'm certain that's what Boseman would have wanted and it was the right thing to do. There is so much excellent material for T'Challa and now they're just making it up as they go just to keep the franchise alive. BP2 felt like the longest funeral I had ever attended. A spinoff will probably not land as well as they hope.

He has no safety net- no emotional connections, no mentor, not even Happy (people want MJ back and so do I, but damn, Peter really needs a confidant and I wish that could be Happy, somehow). Peter is literally rebuilding his life and the best way to do that is to continue his education. Everything else will expand from there. Peter’s personal story should still drive the movie, as Amy Pascal stated back in 2019. He is Spider-man, but he still needs a real LIFE.

Possible arc for Spider-Man moving from a grounded character into BattleWorld. Peter Parker can be recruited by Doom, pretending to be Stark. Doom gives Peter the symbient, Peter learns about the symbient and who Doom really is and switch sides.

They should have battle world build up. Like spiderman 4 being a film all on battle world where he emerges the last spiderman and Tobey gives him part of the venom symbiote he kept.

I don't think the movies in between Doomsday and Secret Wars will explicitly be set on Battleworld. We will likely see something similar to what happened between Infinity War and Endgame, when Ant Man and the Wasp came out. Spiderman 4 will have its own grounded story but end when the multiverse collapses pulling Peter into it (probably in a post-credit scene). Likewise I find it interesting there was no mention of Dr Strange 3. That post credit scene was a pretty direct tie into the collapse of the multiverse, and Dr Strange can be the connecting character to the remaining Avengers who survive the collapse onto Battleworld. An indirect move around the collapse of the multiverse from their POV would be interesting - and an ending like Ragnarok where they think everything is safe, only to cliff hang into the entire collapse of the multi-verse leading into Secret Wars. Doomsday/Secret Wars does give Marvel an easy out for some of these characters who have not gone anywhere promising. A simple they didn't survive the multi-versal collapse, and there's your clean slate. Keep who you want to build around.

The way I would justify the low tier mid characters that they pushed out post endgame would be have Hawkeye start the west coast avengers with Shang Chi, She Hulk, Ms Marvel, Add Ghost Rider, Ant Man, Kate Bishop and White Vision to this team and they will defend Earth while the better characters are off on Battle world. Won’t happen but this would be fun and justify the lower level characters.

Regarding shang chi 2, good to take into account. Simu broke his leg and had surgery. He had a brace for months and hasn’t been cleared for proper training until not so long ago. Seems like none of these channels have mentioned he was out due to an injury and on carpets with his boot hopping on one leg 😅

However they introduce Peter and Venom to each other, a key reason for them being together should be Venom's multiversal hivemind. There's a lot of ways they can play that depending on what we learn (contextwise about the symbiotes) from the 3rd Venom movie, and what they build off from that in the MCU.

29:00 You know, Ryan, this kind of stuff actually upsets a lot of people who have been around since Phase 1. Hawkeye's movie was cancelled, Ruffalo's Hulk movie was cancelled and rolled into Ragnarok and IW, etc. To see Hawkeye lose his chance at an 'at his peak' feature role, but then to see characters like Agnes (who you may be the only one psyched to see get her own show) and She-Hulk and Akoye get more than their own movie, but their own TV shows...! I mean, let's live in reality here: all those characters are pretty minor characters in the MCU and in Marvel in general compared to the classic Avengers line up. There is no real reason any of them, especially as unestablished as they are, should be getting their own shows. The MCU needs *consistency* above all else and part of that means to put characters in stories relative to the characters' actual significance - not relative to their identity.

Here is the biggest problem with Spider-Man 4 (beyond Sony being Sony): the setup from No Way Home very clearly promised what it promised: the grounded street level Spidey. But the plan was obviously to have Spider-Man 4 launch before Kang Dynasty. Now I know we're not doing Kang Dynasty anymore but is Spider-Man the central character of one of the central characters of Doomsday? We don't know. We have no way of knowing. Until someone confirms for me the shooting scheduled of Spidey 4 and Doomsday I couldn't say, Because I think you're right. I think Marvel gave up July 2026 for this but that means Spidey is launching after Doomsday does. There are a couple ways to handle this:1. Spidey is no longer in Doomsday and Spider-Man 4 shows his perspective on events leading up to it (kinda like what Ant-Man 2 did). This would allow the possibility of the movie at least starting out grounded before the events of Doomsday change the world. 2. Spidey is still in Doomsday but Spider-Man 4 is a prequel and we're going out of order (I hate this the most!) 3. Spider-Man 4 is on BattleWorld. And I wonder if maybe their idea is to combine this with the whole Shang-Chi and the Wreckage of Time concept (if you know you know!) Then we could maybe get a Spider-Man/Shang-Chi team up (like the old Marvel Team-Up comics) This would be cool,Id rather have this than no Shang-Chi sequel at all but again we are getting further away from grounded Spidey.
