As said competitor, i absolutely love this new backer. It seems like a product that would need to be designed and manufactured by a 3rd party, rather than someone's garage, so im not sure how many other companies will be quick to adopt the concept. For example, a decent c02 laser allows even a small company to use tegris and other composites, this seems a bit more involved. Thanks for sharing!

I ordered mine the day it dropped, and it came only 2 days later (im pretty close geographically). ive been wearing a glock 49 with a tlr7 and Acro all day every day. its the best holster i have used in the 14 years i have ccw'd. comfort, re holstering, carry height and weight distribution.... its perfect. Would have been an excellent name. I know marketing is a whole "science" , but to be completely honest, for this kind of product I don't think the name is going to affect sales enough to matter. I've got a handful of holsters, including some hybrids from Black Arch Holsters that I like a lot. I was going to say that I can't for the life of me remember whatever whizzbang name was given to any of them, but then I remembered one (Protos M) while typing this out. Captain Miller was right, context is the necessary element to facilitate remembrance. That said, I didn't buy any of them because of the name. I bought them because each holster and holster type was aimed at carrying a different pistol in a different way with different accessories etc.

This has solved a portion of a problem that I've had in developing a concealed system geared towards women being able to carry better and safer. I hope to bring something to market that can work in conjunction with t.rex holsters that make it easier and more comfortable for women to carry. I don't want to say too much more, but if it works the way I hope it does, it could be a great solution for some people.

I got my hybrid Ironside last week and put about 250 rounds through my pistol focusing on drawing and re-holstering. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it for a Glock 34 with a TLR1 which is my daily carry. I love it! It’s comfortable, easy to conceal, easy to draw, and easy to re-holster! I work at Wilson Combat so I will be shooting with it on my breaks for while to really get a feel for it, though I don’t think it’s going to replace my Ragnarok with a paddle as a preferred carry. Thank you guys for everything you do for the industry! You put out great products and I’ve learned a lot from your videos!

Favorite thing about T.Rex Arms is the team-oriented nature of how they do business. Which goes back to their rock solid standards. The mutual gains created by having competitors who are also partners in the same game are very cool, and a multi-dimensional win in my opinion. Makes me think of the bar scene from "A Beautiful Mind" where they quote Adam Smith as stating that: "In competition, individual ambition serves the common good. The best result comes from everyone in the group doing what's best for themselves." When in reality the best results come when an individual does what's best for themselves, AND their group..company, family, community, etc.

I'm fan. I ordered one as soon as it was released and already have it. I'd have never bought a T-Rex concealment holster until you released the hybrid. I prioritize comfort with holsters. I do carry every single day but I use comfortable holsters. I do kinda wish there was a cheaper Ironside option with no hardware, meant to install on the backer. I'd like to play around with different configurations on the hybrid.

This is excellent! I have a holster for a 856 revolver which does not have great belt attachment but holds the the revolver nicely. Getting the backer would be tremendous to adopt with it.

I’m a big fan of hybrid holsters like these. I like how the holster reaches around your waist and make carrying more comfortable. I own an alien gear hybrid holster that I’ve used for quite a while and I really like it. I will definitely be getting a backer for my G19 iron side holster.

The complete kydex design is 100000% a needed improvement over competitor brand hybrid holsters. I love the comfort provided by the hybrid style, but I carry with a TLR7 (side push button), so when using only a single sided Kydex shell, when sitting down or leaning over, it applies pressure to the softer layer and engages the light. Now there is a flashlight lighting up my ass.

I've been using mine for a week now with a glock 17 with light and optic. The backer doesn't handle the weight very well. I can feel it sagging and I'm concerned how the belt loops are eventually going to rip out. Maybe add some sort of plastic but flexible strip that bridges the two connectors and and attaches to the kydex to provide more support?

Our testing showed that it wasn't necessary. However, durability testing is it hard to simulate perfectly. Some form of that concept would be the solution if that became an issue.

I don’t think that most people are carrying a full-size Glock 17 with a light and optic concealed… that holster may not have been the optimal choice given your current carry option… that honestly sounds like a outside the waistband set up but i hope you find a convenient carry option that fits your needs.

I've only ever used kydex or polymer holsters, and after the first couple months of getting used to it, I've never really had any comfort issues...at least not anything worth complaining about. Could be because I always wear an undershirt between my skin and holster though. Still, I'll have to give that one a shot though. Maybe I just don't know what an actually comfortable holster is like.

This is fantastic. Since the October 7th attack in Israel and seeing how people died, I have been looking for the perfect holster. And by the perfect holster I mean one that I wasn’t dying to take off the moment I could. I’ve tried a few out there on the market, and settled on the ironside. The downsides of it is bending over or kneeling down it exposes the holster. I’m glad to see you guys keep trying to bring new stuff to the market, and I definitely will be trying this out here shortly. Good stuff guys 🤘

I’m sure this holster is amazing… I carry my Glock 48 in a side car in the 4-5 o’clock position with the TQ attachment. It disappears as far as concealment and comfort. I can only imagine how well this will work. Unfortunately with how much I love my SideCar I can’t justify a new one lol.

For Gym/athletics? You may want to consider a joggers fanny pack for running. Then if I'm at the gym I normally just carry off body in a small gym bag at my feet. No way I'm going to ass to grass with weight and appendix carrying. I hope that helps to give you ideas. That's how I comfortably carry while I'm in athletic gear. Because that is a huge problem of not having a sturdy belt to clip onto for whatever set up you're going to do.

Wear your belt under your joggers. I've had the enigma for 3.5yrs. I haven't tried a belly band, but I can't imagine it being as sturdy as the enigma or holster+belt under joggers.

You shouldn't downplay the comfort angle. I just got an Ironside hybrid for a S&W Carry Comp Compact equipped with both a light and a red dot and despite all that extra equipment I find the Ironside so comfortable IWB, and so effective at concealment, that the Carry Comp will be replacing my Shield Plus, with no light and no red dot, as my EDC...........outside of work. If T-Rex Arms is truly dedicated to make concealed carry accessible as possible to as many as possible I challenge T-Rex with coming up with a shoulder rig that can accommodate red dot and light equipped pistols. I am a truck driver by trade and no carry method is as suitable for trucker carry as the shoulder holster, not just fir seated access and comfort but to dramatically simplify use of public restrooms which is all we truckers have access to during our travels. I currently carry said Shield Plus in slick configuration in a Galco Miami Classic Lite rig and it has served me well. However I work nights and if I could shoulder carry the Carry Comp with it's light and red dot it would give me something much more capable for the conditions.
