Excellent Also in serum once you have the lovely Reese going with that oscillator you can also edit the spectral bins, remove the fundamental and replace with the sub oscillator as a solid mono fundamental that gives you a non-oscillating or “beating” fundamental for a more stable sub frequency

Don't usually comment much, but the wavetables are amazing, thank you :) The Yam wavetable is for real so clean and deep sounding. I tried myself to replicate the shape in serum with a basic sine and the "bend -" warp mode and also with the wavetable editor adding some harmonics and I got close and similar results, but the Yam Table is better and probably the best I've heard! Lol cant believe that exakt lite synth has no polyphony options so its always just polyphonic which sucks also has no glide. I get that its free but those are some pretty basic options to have just at least let me make it mono please.
@OwenTheGeekАй бұрын
Don't use it then, pick another one. It's not like I didn't give you options. There are many other free FM synths you could follow along with if you don't have a budget. What DAW are you using? Do you not have a 1st party FM synth?
@AuT0maTe1Ай бұрын
@@OwenTheGeek lol of course I can use another one but thats not the point im making. I actually ended up using your waveform in vital I was just annoyed that exakt is another synth where they dont add the most basic options meaning i might as well uninstall it which is a shame. I use Reason so my free main FM option is thor which is fantastic but works differently from these other FM synths.

@AuT0maTe1Ай бұрын
@@OwenTheGeek Sure I could but I might as well just use a synth that has better options I imagine this will just be another plugin that gather's digital dust on my hardrive lol. All it needs is the option for mono retrig/legato and it will be great doesn't need glide but that would be nice to.

Says skills are more important than tools throughout this video, while the video is simply an advertisement for a tool and wavetable that he's demoing that avoids any need for skill.
@OwenTheGeekАй бұрын
Nah. There's no tool or wavetable being advertised. The wavetables are an optional free download. The point is when you have the skills, there are many ways (not just one) to skin the cat, as repeatedly demonstrated. You don't need to use the wavetable OR any of the same tools as me in order to follow along and get the sound. 👍
@buckstarchaser2376Ай бұрын
@OwenTheGeek Thanks for clarifying. Yes, I noticed the section where you stated the technical method of producing the waveform over a few seconds, so you *technically* said the definition of the Reese Wave. In its entirety, this video implies that the textbook definition of the Reese, and its abundant commonality is the secret, and your affiliated products are the videos only content. Without the filters used to make Reeses, Jimi Hendrix has very little to add to music history, because he would have sounded like the other musicians he essentially sold this product to (and other artists to their respective genres). This sales ploy culminated in the suggestion to download your wavetable so that one would not need to learn, nor practice this skill. In actuality, the "Rare Zero Phase Filter" you're talking about is called an "All-Pass" filter, because it uses phase manipulation to perform the filtration on unwanted frequencies instead of tuned amplification. The frequencies that are maintained at zero phase delta are in the pass band, and the ideal circuit should not have other phasing artifacts from LCR-based filters. This is shown in the swept version of the green trace in your thumbnail. The old-as-dirt Moog Ladder Filter is an example of this "rare" design, and was in products as early as the 1960s. This feature is desirable in any tunable phaser derivative, and so they are quite abundant. Declaring them rare is as disingenuous as your "Tools vs Skills" chant for pushing your redundant tools.
@OwenTheGeekАй бұрын
WTF are you actually talking about? There are NO affiliate products. I don't do affiliate links, never have. 😂 Moog ladder filters are minimum phase, not zero phase. I didn't use all pass filters. You're just confused all round. Nothing remotely disingenuous in my video. Kindly jog on. 🤣👍
@buckstarchaser2376Ай бұрын
@@OwenTheGeek I said affiliated links, which are in your video description, and you state in the video that they are in your description. You are talking about something else. Moog filters are "minimum" only in that nothing real is perfect. You are talking about a software facsimile, which is also not perfect in its implementation. It is a "minimum phase filter" as you seem to be entirely confused about. I see that your series of self-serving errors may be the result of gross incompetence, but that doesn't really instill confidence in your recommendations.
@OwenTheGeekАй бұрын
@@buckstarchaser2376 you're a special kind of silly sausage, aren't you? 😂 There are no "affiliated links". Moog ladder filters ARE minimal phase. The bandpass filter I demonstrated in the video is not. What is it that irked you in the first place? Were you offended by the suggestion that skills are more important than tools? 🤔
