Jay, this was great. I remember reading a lot of Seths books when I started in real estate. It worked and continues to make me different. I've also added this to my KZbin channel. I run slow... much slower than the average runner. I also show my results of my runs and how by running slower I'm getting faster all while running at the same heart rate. I tell my story and people seem to like it. I went from making 150 videos a year to 57 and now I'm getting more views than before. I'm consistent and honest in what I'm taking about. This I think makes me different in my KZbin space. I really like your videos and how you teach your audience what you are learning. Keep it up and maybe you can talk about what you teach on twitter

Thanks for that reminder. What I see with a lot of creators is that they have no way of knowing if they stand out or what makes them different. All they know is their perspective is normal and they see what other people publish that gets attention. I think that's why many simply copy instead of fully being themselves. That's at least one thing with building a home for creators.

be different, take risks, that's the advice. I think most people will be looking for help with that next stage. How do you be different, what risks should you take? So here's my take, free advice. Most good videos are based on a question. Can you survive buried for 7 days. MrBeast answers some of the most insane questions. But questions don't need to be big. How to edit faster. Which lens is better. Can I tell the difference between supermarket cola and Coke. Firstly you need to decide what kind of creator you want to be, there's mainly two options, are you an entertainer or an educator. Then you need to figure out what subject you want to educate or entertain. Make a list of questions based on your subject (i'd even say find a niche inside that subject, filmmaking - niche: cinematography, editing, budget filmmaking, animation etc). The risks come in how you present your videos or how far you push your questions. Maybe I should make a video on this...

Here's the problem with KZbin right now. It's not actually to do with the "MrBeastification of KZbin". The problem lies in the fact that everything on the platform is completely generic. But that's not actually a bad thing. Because while the 99% are chasing after a formula/proven concept. The 1% that chase after their own original craft are more likely to find success in the long run. Compared to the 99% where they may find some success in the short run.
@thejayalto6 ай бұрын
Exactly. If anything, the 'MrBeastification' has made it easier. Such a clear demand for non-mrbeastification,
@LidiaBejerea5 ай бұрын
Your views and subscribers don’t match the quality of content you produce, hopefully KZbin will pick up on it someday and blow it. Flashy edits once used to also be purple cows to grab attention, but it now seems every other cow is purple. In a platform filled with such cows, your content definitely stands out - keep it up!
