As a woodsman, that has 4 man squads refusing to come to the usec camp and near the village, the stalk is by far the best, playing the cards right is key, no sudden movements, and listen. once you have 30-40 raids like that you start to figure how people react, and you can use that to your advantage. good video, hope we dont meet enemy at the gates style

a good thing to mention is what happened at 23:00, that audio that YOU hear only plays for others for less than a second at absolutely zero leg and hand stamina, one second later when you gained some hand stamina that audio dissapears for other players immediately even though you're being ear blasted with panting, you also can't really hear the audio anyway, unless you have comtac 4s or you're wearing tacsports/excels/RACs in a dead silent raid the panting will be supressed by just about all ambient audio in the game, consider that you're indoors and have sealed audio as the window isn't smashed out 100% (sound won't propagate unless ALL glass is broken on that window in dorms, the bottom lip is still present) and the door to the room is closed and they're sprinting in 30kg's of gear they wouldn't have heard that audio ever, not a chance in the world, it's a good thing to remember when you have these moments.

I've always been terrible at sniping in Tarkov. A few days ago I watched this video and decided to put these lessons into practice. It's incredible how much I've improved in just one week. The most important lesson for me was not to rush the shot. I always kind of understood this concept but I executed it incorrectly. I tried to choose the best possible shot assuming that if the target left my sights I would never have a chance again, so if he was going for cover or leaving my area I would try to take the best possible shot before he left. In this way I would probably miss the shot and give away my position for nothing. In the last few days I started not trying very difficult shots at all, and if I didn't have a good opportunity, I wouldn't even try, I would let the target go. I was impressed by how often a target that left your sights would come back, and how not taking the shot allows you to have a much better new chance. This simple concept revolutionized my ability to be a sniper in Tarkov.

When I first realized the joy of sniping was a woods raid where I stalked a guy in scav town for like 20 mins. I predicted where he was going and repositioned so he walked right on top of me and I got him in the back. Nothing brings more joy than getting that kill you were watching for the whole raid

my biggest challenge with sniping is standing too still looking for target to kill, because by standing still i get sniped in the face every single time. I feel like every single rock on lighthouse, i never get the chance to catch someone else slippin- they always get me laying there like a dumbass in between a bush and a tree and shoot my eyes.
@Ironpine275 ай бұрын
I had this problem for a long time until I took a page from actual snipers' handbooks. If you see a good spot for a sniper, your enemy sees a good spot for a sniper, any elevated position with a wide overlook is always the first place to be checked. As such, a sniper should never be found in the best place to snipe from.
@skrrrttt9995 ай бұрын
look for a spot that isn't the greatest but has at least one solid angle while being very low key, I never snipe from the highest rock on lighthouse, I tuck myself in the bush on the rocks between mountain pass and usec camp and change spot a little If I hear action from for example usec camp while I was looking at the highest rock, also never lay with nothing behind you because sky will expose you, keep your silhouette hidden and in similiar colour as you have
@FutureLaugh4 ай бұрын
@@skrrrttt999 thats a nice spot for USEC, as long as you clear that snaggle tree mountain first, but im a bear this season and i cant even go as far as the highway crane without getting flat lined by the guards at the camp

@@FutureLaugh I generally don't like to snipe on lighthouse as it is boring if you are in safe spot, I like to go to sawmill on woods and lay somewhere where Im hidden, I see some of sawmill and can move a bit unnoticed if I hear shots or see someone

I don't know if you will see this, but watching your video reminded me of when I got into sniping in video games way back when in Cod4 and when I took is seriously in MW2, nowadays, sniping is my main way of playing any shooter. To the point where in the game Polygon, I am actually the number 1 player with headshots because I mainly use the sniper in that game. Your tips are everything I had expected and all of these tips can be used in any game. Very entertaining and almost nostalgic in an odd way. Sniping feels like an art, when your rifle is the brush, your bullets are the paint, and the target is your canvas. Patience is a virtue everyone and it pays off. Learn it and you can become a force to be feared.

Taking your time with target aquisition, stalking, and repositioning also increases your immersion in the game. That for me is a big factor of why I like tarkov more than any other shooter. It can have a very high level of immersion, and that draws me in so that I feel like I'm part of the action.

@Wielkimati6 ай бұрын
When I was starting Tarkov around 2 years ago, I found your channel while trying to look up anything about sniping, and so over the time I think our play styles morphed into something quite similar, as I'm a gamer with subpar mechanical aim slowly approaching his 30 who also prefers to have the upper hand in tactics rather than raw skill. Anyway, now that you know where do I come from with this, have you also noticed how much wacky stuff you can actually get away with while stalking dudes like this? If you know someone didn't spot you, being at a distance crouched and standing still works 95% of the time. Of course if you don't do anything silly like standing in an open field or wear blue in a forest. This especially works well with people who just zoom around everywhere, looting and looking for fight. I can't be bothered to count how many times repositioning through the middle of the street on Streets Of Tarkov yielded me a better, wackier angle than slowly going through a building straight after my prey probably even could, while counting how many time that failed can be done on both my hands. And the chef's kiss of stupid tactics I've grown to love, exploiting the mindset of people who spot you doing recond from high up on maps like woods or shoreline, etc. Reconing from top of the hills is historically a very bad idea, since you'll be very easy to spot, and this is something we've both discovered along the way. And also, a lot of players. But, since hitting a moving target at that distance is actually a pretty hard thing to do, I noticed not many will actually try to shoot until you slow down (and if they do and manage to kill you in one shot, they either have really trained their skill or got very lucky, so they just deserved that kill tbh). Considering tops of the hills are still very juicy places to spot people from, I've found just popping out, and constantly moving for a while while reconing for a short while, and eventually moving back down. The risk is very low, and the reward can be potentially very high. You outcomes are good outcomes for you are basically: - Spot an enemy and can move to stalking from the ground. - Enemy shoots at you, possibly whiffs, you can get info around where any enemies might be, reposition towards that angle. - You spot and enemy that has spotted you, but since you're still moving, you can play dumb, not look at his direction (so he doesn't think you've noticed him, cause looking in your direction and then stopping is a dead giveaway), get quickly below and try to counter his repositioning trying to get a better angle on you, thinking you don't know he's coming towards you. I know this is a wall of text, and I'm truly sorry, but I'm just genuinely curious if you've also had experiences like these. Anyway, I think the next natural step of evolution of this play style is moving onto trying to intercept an enemy by moving towards the path you presume he'll take (like, ambush him at a later spot in a path where snipers simply have an advantage) while he's looting around or doing whatever. Anyway 2nd time, love your content, would be a blast to get your dogtag someday.

I love sniping but honestly hate doing it on Tarkov. The map design plus lack of truly variable scopes makes it impossible for trully long range range shots, and having a timer to get out makes SO anxious. Like, I'm the type of sniper who literally sits in a bush for 5 hours waiting for an oportunity (not joking, did that all the time in DayZ, solo or in squads, waited 5 hours to eliminate one specific target until I had the absolute perfect shot)

great tip, but I've got some pretty good kills leading my shot, putting the scope in front of his head as he moves, assuming he's moving in a straight predictable line. I agree with you for the most part, though. Sniping is an act of patience. Without that you will take the worst shots and spoil the prize. Lighthouse is a great example of what Im saying - usually PMC man is running along the beach and I and predict easily not only where he will be but where he is going so i put one on him from 200m+ out and to my surprise its a kill.

What I honestly don't like about sniping in Tarkov is that very few maps are really really made for taking a bolt rifle with you, and still, you don't really need one. Like, you went to Dorms, and you totally had fun, but because of the distance any other gun would have done the same job if not better with a full auto or semi ar in case someone pushed you bad. Taking a bolt rifle in Tarkov seems just extra steps of challenge for no gains, except very few occasions
