Lately my strategy’s been working benches of Teritiary channels. Some benches are higher than the original channel and some are lower. Millions of years can really torture the topography.

I saw a special on the petroglyphs of the southwest a few years back . The hosts said most of them talk about hunts and denote safe areas to camp and get water ,but some of them tell the story of how the ant people brought humans underground to save them from a great fire and others talk about giants and human interactions with them. What's wild about the ant people thing to me is the entire center of north america was set on fire thousands of years ago. Basically what would become the USA and southern Canada and northern Mexico was set ablaze by a meteorite if I remember correctly . Just like the iridium layer that marks the extinction of the dinosaurs , there is supposed to be a layer of compacted ashes and coal across the entire country if you dig deep enough.

I really love watching these videos. I live in Northern NJ and there is no gold to be mined or found here, unless you go to a jeweler. In which case you're going to pay top dollar for it. Watching your videos has provided me with a pretty good understanding of how gold is formed, where it's found and how it's collected. You are a wealth of information and you kindly and so freely share your knowledge via your channel. So, thanks! and keep up the hard work.

Hey Jeff heres your answer on those spirals!❤ "Spirals are a common geometric design in Native American petroglyphs, and can have multiple meanings: Marking the solstices: In the Mesa Verde region, ancestral Pueblo peoples created spiral petroglyphs that may have marked the sun's position on the longest and shortest days of the year. The carvings also show the complex interactions of sunlight and shadows. Representing a water source: Concentric circles and spirals can represent a water source. Symbol of migration: Spirals can represent migration to other worlds or traveling. Representing the sky or the sun: The spiral patterns in the carvings may symbolize the sky or the sun. Representing a vision of the natural world: Some spirals have been carved into canyon walls to represent a vision of the natural world. Representing community: Spirals can represent community in a number of ways. For example, a spiral petroglyph in Chaco canyon may have been used for planting, harvesting, or planning ceremonies. The spiral is one of the oldest symbols known to be used in spiritual practices. It reflects the universal pattern of growth and evolution, and can also represent the goddess, the womb, fertility, and life force energy." CREDIT TO: Google AI for the answer.

Jeff, the spiral circle is believed to mean a trail leading out of a canyon or deep draw. I had a book on Petroglyphs that was my uncle's Outside of my home town was a spiral circle in the bottom of a Canyon. A trail did lead over the ridge to another valley. Hope this helps.

@@tonybarnes5309 even among the cave art in Europe, the consensus is slowly shifting to the artwork depicting where to hunt or to find shelter or water. And it kinda makes sense as that would be an early form of written language. An obvious precursor to what we consider today to be the earliest language, that we know of. All across Europe they find these small dots associated with the art. They think it is a way to say something like, X number of days walk to get to this, or even denoting a time of year to find it where you are. But that may be something that remains speculation unless a truly remarkable find(s) is made that explains what the markings around the animals mean.

When I was teenager I spent 6 months literally living in the Arizona wilderness. During that time we hiked hundreds of miles rarely ever sleeping in the same camp more than one night. I don't know if I was in any gold bearing districts at that time but at 16 I didn't even know to look for gold. Watching your videos sure does tempt me to go spend so more time in Arizona, only now it would be on the hunt for gold. Funny in this video you mentioned the Anasazi, for that was the name of the program I was on during my six month adventure through the Tonto National Forest. Love you videos, they give me a fever!

I'm in S AZ. There's a wash near me with tons of black sand in it. I chased it upstream to where it dropped out. When I dug down to bedrock, I discovered a large granite pegmatite that was the source of the black sand. The only thing valuable I found were a bunch of transparent, bright red, gem quality garnets. The biggest were only the size of pinheads so were too small to be worth much.

The meaning of a spiral petroglyph can vary depending on the context, but it can represent many things, including: Solar position: Some spiral petroglyphs mark the position of the sun on the longest and shortest days of the year. Migration: Spirals can represent physical or spiritual migration, such as a clan journeying to gain experiential knowledge. Water source: Concentric circles and spirals can represent a water source. Life cycle: Spirals can represent the cycle of birth and death, and help people accept it. Fertility: Spirals can represent the goddess, the womb, fertility, and life force energy. Spirals are one of the most common geometric motifs in prehistoric art and are found throughout the world

The eastern Oregon gold country is a good place to visit. In my younger days I chased the Lost Blue Bucket Mine. Back then you could still see the old wagon tracks left by the Meek's Cutoff party. One of the journals said the discovery was made one day after they left the grave of one of the party near what is now called Beulah in Agency Valley. That would put them just north of Drewsey. One of the journals said the children made the discovery 10 to 15 miles north of camp while out looking for water. That places the discovery in the John Day country. My bet is the Blue Bucket deposit was mined out without notice during the John Day rush and is why it has never been found. I also discovered a lot of old mining activity west of Wagontire mountain, since another journal placed the discovery in the Big Sandy country. It was fun looking even though that bird had probably flown the coop long ago without mention.

Ya, spirals are usualy a solar/lunar clock but it is also telling you where the clock is, concentric circles mean minerals, turtles usualy mean trails. They can also be maps, read by turning your back to it, imagining looking thru the rock as if it was glass. Some shapes on the map are land marks, eithr the shadow cast or the actual shape of the landmark.

The ultimate healthy chili recipe..... One can of your favorite chili that you don't have to make from scratch, one can of Bush's baked beans, sautee some diced onions first and cook some spinach and kale in a pot in shallow water then mix the onions with the spinach and kale and add the chili and baked beans, then add a half of cup of microwaved brown rice to it and sprinkle on some dried shredded pork from a package if you can find a package of it to buy. Heat on medium then simmer on low in a pot. Add salt and pepper if you want or not I'm sure it already has salt in it or sodium in it. Finally drizzle some virgin olive oil on top. Also Sardine pieces could be an additional option on a day needing more fish in the diet. But I would still serve it with some garlic toast.

I always am pulled back to the glyphs in grapevine camyon. One time i took my daughter there after she graduated gtom high school. We climbed up the trail through the boulders and withered grapevines until we reached a small pool of water below the spring. I drank from it as there were tadpoles or something like them swimming in it. I wanted to see what it tasted like. All i can describe is that it tasted like desert. Before we could get back to the car i believe i may have arroused the spirits there. The wind picked up and all the way to needles there were diststorms. Wild. I would like to see the ones you were showing. Even kore elaborate than the ones at grapevine.

In Australia those spirals you see are very similar to our aboriginal painting to signify there is a water whole nearby

The spirals usually indicate a spiritual portal of some sort. Most petroglyphs are spiritual in nature, having spiritual significance to the tribal peoples.

According to Chris Hegg's book - Ancient Universal Language of Man ... - the spiral relates to the season. Where the spiral stops determines which season. Come up to Mineral County NV Jeff and we'll go out in the desert! Hey I just had my first child (at 68 no less) - Gabriella!
