I watched 70% of this the other day and something clicked. Went out and have been hitting my irons my max distance with ease. Grants lengthy frame really helped me see the full swing, follow through - and how I needed to complete the swing. Now watching again to see if I can get more “clicks”.

What you are referring to with the torso and head staying back while the lower half turns through the ball is exactly what a proper baseball swing is and what you hear on every field in America from coaches when they scream stay back. It does not mean keep your weight on your back foot it means rotate your lower half and torso through without your front hip moving forward and vertical over the front foot . That would be a lunge in baseball and a no no. I play and coach baseball and all baseball players on the golf course I tell them to stay back and think high fly ball to Right Center field for a righty and on iron swings they need to lunge and get up and on or over their front side foot. A huge majority of golfers were baseball players and the que stay back and get your backside through is going to fix their driver swings asap. Great video great teaching. Grant is a stud on the course for sure

Love that Greg----great points! LOTS of similarities with good baseball swing and good golf swing as I see it. Golf obviously on tilted plane with ball on ground and requires more clubface closing but LOTS of same body motions. Good stuff!!

awesome swing, one thing that the vid didn't mention is the weight distribution at setup - even with the tilt should the weight still feel a touch more on the lead foot?

But I start at right shoulder tilt but my confusion comes when I rotate a lose the right shoulder tilt because my left shoulder is now down. Seems like it would only matter as you’re coming through on the upswing.
@PerformanceGolfZone6 ай бұрын
For sure need to replace the setup tilt with some left side bend in backswing to keep inclination to ground and then add right side bend in downswing. You add the tilt at setup to pre set the head more back So when you add left side bend in backswing it STAYS back....if you didnt add the tilt your head wouldn't be back enough and you'd need to move back too much through the ball which would inhibit rotation
@Jarhead03316 ай бұрын
@@PerformanceGolfZonethat explains a ton. I always was confused as how right tilt pre-rotation was even relevant. Great stuff. Still must have a leak in my swing as my ball speed sticks between 155-161, club speed 105-109. As a 6’3 265 lb former college baseball player I feel it should be more, BUT maybe cuz I’m 54😂
@derekunderwood33566 ай бұрын
G Money! Silky silky swing! But if you want to add some distance, learn to use your legs and ground forces a little more. Everything else stays the same. I was very inconsistent with driver until I learned to sit and play into my legs more instead of staying tall through the swing. . Instantly feels like a more athletic swing and move.

@@brycecarter1 haha but the truth is I'm an inspiring wanna be golf coach. I mean would like to be one day. So I just say non sense like this all the time on better golfers channel to see if I might happen to know what I'm talking about. If not, I just keep learning. Believe it or not I have actually helped a couple golfers before doing this that are wayyyyy better than me at playing this game. I wouldn't have ever came up with this dream if I didn't hear the golf saying that goes "those who can't play golf, teach". So they are saying I have a chance!!!
