finally got these semi consistent today! for me it’s a lot easier to get a good pop and landing with the curve of the ramp instead of manualing back in which really sketches me out. i was trying pivot fakies (i’m still getting the hang of bs 5-0s so prob not a good idea haha) and it was really hard to get over the fear of hanging up when manualing back in so i started trying blunts and it was way less scary. especially after just landing a few with one foot on so u know u can clear it! my main problem besides the fear was i was pressing too much on the tail when i got in so there wasn’t much room to get a good pop but if u try to leave a little room in between the tail and the ramp when u get into it makes it waaay easier to pop it. anyway love ur vids man learned fs 50-50s on the mini today too and the tip to get all the way on the top of the ramp really helped🙏🏽🙏🏽

Hey Chad, Tough news man, sorry to hear that. Wish you a speedy recovery and be well. As for the blunt, yeah, good tip. I myself have seen in person one other guy who did it like that all the time, but I can never get it. I can blunt to rock stall; which is really a cool trick because I can pop out really high before getting the board back to that rock stall. And, I can also blunt to pull out. I've also done some nice variations on the blunt pull out. It is a fun trick. But I still have that fear of blunt fakie into the ramp. I actually tore my ankle ligament on a blunt fakie attempt just as I was about to learn it. I am presently learning back 5-0 grind revert/fakie, so I suppose that will help with this concept. By the way, Really Cool idea, "fifty tricks before surgery". That's what you should tittle each installment with the # of the trick. I'll be watching! be careful man. Best, -Dave

Dude skateboarded all my life and fakie anything especially blunts are terrifying. Always have been for me at least. The crazier part is amd I’m guessing your doing it on that part of the ramp cause it’s a foot or so lower than the rest. But it’s on a somewhat spine. Nutty but awesome. Just started riding again after a 15 year hiatus & at 48 I’m trying to get back bs disasters and it’s crazy how much more sketch I am at a later age. But it’s also strange all the muscle memory is still there etc. but it moves faster than my body and brain can keep up. But after a few hours of riding you start getting really comfortable w/ it and things start clicking. Stoked on your videos. MOTIVATION.

Totally get what you're saying about that golden time when you're fully warmed up, before the tiredness sets in! @@Rufusdos funny we do the same thing 3-5 of us ride 2 are 56-58 and actually still good. I’m 49 and can do blunts again but only to 50/50 or 5/0 or to fakie rock. But same thing Saturday mornings for a 2-4 hour session. It is rad when all of a sudden you’re in it, typically right before you get spent. Another good tip I heard for popping out blunt fakie and having fear of hanging up on front truck, is to pretend you're doing a blunt fakie to nose stall. That forces you to get front truck over the coping and keeps your weight inside the ramp.

Sorry for the injury. Hope you get well for next season. Quick question: how did you injure your knee? I'm asking this because last year I started to fell pain on the inside of my knee (back leg), after a skate session. I didn't fall, I assume it was because of too many tail popping for tricks and weak leg and hip muscles.

the slip out was a big reason why I stopped seriously trying to fakie noseblunt. Doesn't matter if you've got a good lip or something mellow - you overshoot just a bit while putting the weight down to lock in and your board is flying out and you're sliding down the transition on your stomach or side.
