This lesson is premium! Saved to my "guitar lessons" playlist. Will come back to learn all progressions. After all "spread triads" was quite easy for me since I got my barre chords down a long time ago.

I am newer to guitar (from other instruments), but I noticed the major/minor pattern on the fret board from learning the song Blackbird. Adding the 5th almost seems obvious now haha, like an expanded power chord or something. Guitar is so fun, thank you!

Those spread triad shapes look like the drop 2 shapes on 5-4-3-2 leaving out the 7th degree. I was working on them this morning which is why they look familiar. I think I'll work on the spread triads tonight.

That is definitely a great way to visualize these shapes!

I'm so glad I persevered with hybrid picking when I was rubbish at it. I feel playing spread triads will work in nicely with it if I can also coordinate that with pic picking the 3 notes as well if I want to

Yes! Great hybrid picking fodder here!

I really got to dig into my wall of chords, these shapes are really easy after all. I got injury (carpal tunnel) thast can'T be solved and can'T make much of... all bar... or really stretching to much but I totally can practice other shapes along the neck too and still have a lot of fun or integrate them to replace the f bar chords..

Sorry to hear you’re suffering carpal tunnel! Wishing you as many joyful hours of playing as you can manage my friend!

Thank you for sharing these! I think it's an open secret in Neil Young's music, many folk musicians, going back at least half a century, which presented new routes for electric guitar and how we create melody from shapes

Totally!

Am I correct is saying that e string and a string spread triads have the same patterns?
@mattfranceschini21 күн бұрын
Not quite, these shapes will work on the DGE strings but if you wanted to play them lower (EAG) you need to drop the top note (g string) by one fret!
