If you scroll down Toby's tumblr you'll see that the reason these songs resurfaced is because these song were reposted and blazed by Toby multiple times over in November 2022, and this was shortly after Chapter 2 came out so people were hungry for anything related to chapter 3 I personally think that the fact that Toby put Woody on fire multiple times over in reposts is foreshadowing Toriel doing that to a secret boss and giving the tv screen burn. Only time will tell though and if I'm wrong and it's just a silly post he made over and over, I'm still excited for what chapter 3 and 4 have in store because Toby is a great storyteller 😄

More examples (both of in-game tracks and more!) - Don't Forget may not actually be the full version of the song. It's listed as "Don't Forget (Vocal Excerpt)" in the credits, meaning it's likely an excerpt of a longer song. - Some of the unused tracks from the livestream are likely to appear in-game eventually, such as the unused fountain theme and possibly even the opening theme. - Similarly to Don't Forget, "flashback_excerpt" is likely a small part of a larger track. Interestingly, it uses a motif from THE HOLY (backing strings are playing the same notes as the choir). - d.ogg is very clearly a pitched down sample that was originally higher; in fact, the second measure is just the same audio as the first but pitched even further down (as evidenced by the drums getting deeper). This means it's possible it could be an edited snippet of a longer track, possibly even a battle theme. - In Undertale, if you type "ball" on the title screen, it plays a short jingle. This is actually part of an old track "mystery" Toby made for a cancelled game called Item Haver. It shares a motif with another track for that game by Toby, "havercity". Perhaps this motif could be reused in Deltarune somewhere, as it appears in Undertale. The "ball" easter egg combined with the track title "mystery" may suggest a possible connection to Dess but the evidence is weak here. - Another old track for a seemingly cancelled game is "Downwell Idea", which has been remixed in Deltarune fan tracks such as R.V. Pine's "TECHNOCOLOR". There is little evidence it will actually appear in-game in any capacity but it's a cool little track regardless. - Yet another old track, "goldenhammer" was once speculated to be a draft of a theme for Gerson, before it was discovered to be a cover of Wrecking Crew (NES)'s power up theme of all things. - A track from Tumblr, "Friendship", uses the Nightmare Knight motif and is most likely another Cucumber Quest fan track. This slower version of the theme could also appear in some capacity. Also funny how there are two tracks named "Toby Fox - Friendship". - Speaking of Friends.... 10:18 One thing to note about the sound test menu tracks is that during the Spamton Value Network stream, during the ad for the "Okay, That's What I Think Music Is" CD, "Trouble Dingle" from the sound test appears during the scroll-by of the different track names supposedly on said CD. (You can see it clearly at 13:49). While this stream was put together by RTVS so what exactly is on their part and what is on Toby Fox is debated, the fact is that this is the first time a track from the sound test has been named or acknowledge by name outside of it does have some interesting implications about it and the rest of sound test tracks.

A few more examples can be found in the 2012 Earthbound tribute album I Miss You for which Toby contributed 4 songs, of which he's already used one. *"Fallen Down"* appeared first in this album before being reused in Undertale, including a reprise for the pacifist ending. *"A New Line"* has a similar feeling to the eerie yet groovy True Lab songs and could fit for a battle against a spookier, mechanical enemy in Deltarune (some have speculated Everyman?) *"Checkerboard Memories"* is a simple tune, although we've already seen a checkerboard in Deltarune... and lastly, the infamous *"Megalo Strike Back"* could be used in order to evoke Megalovania's feeling without reusing the same song, perhaps to make Deltarune feel more distinct from Undertale? To be fair, any time an arpeggio is used in any of Toby's songs, people immediately connect it to Gaster because "OH MY GOD IT'S SO SIMILAR LIKE WOAHHH DUDE LOOK IT'S THE SAME THEME!" ... it's an arpeggio. Played on an old-ass piano soundfont... there's no deep meaning behind it. I mean, Spade King doesn't have much connections to Gaster at all. He's simply just a distraction from the truth of the game. And yet, his castle theme has an arpeggio in the Lancer leitmotif part. Plus, an arpeggio is one of the most used basslines in music. Of course Toby's going to use it in a lot of his songs.

It's really hard to say what, but I am very much confident that we'll see more Homestuck references than just Penumbra Phantasm (and it would feel wacky to me if it was directly referenced, I remember it basically being a song relating to inescapable fateful moments where everything happened so it's always stuck with me). I do want to point out that the little motif associated with the yellow soul segment of the omega flowey bossfight is lifted from Terezi's Theme from Homestuck, another Toby Fox composition. Mettaton's "Oh My" reveal is also extremely similar to the opening of "Killed by Br8k Spider!!!!!!!!". There's a huge pattern here. I'm not sure what's going to get in, most of my ideas are spitballing. My gut says English is up there. English is the main theme of the antagonist of Homestuck, Lord English, who is an immortal and inevitable cherub who controls fate throughout all of time. Every event that the protagonists suffered through was orchestrated by him and will lead to the events of his creation. Why do I think this is so likely? Well, Deltarune is a Homestuck fanfiction. It focuses on teenagers playing a game that takes them to another world, and ultimately in playing this game and creating these other worlds (looking at you, Kris), they are contributing to the apocalypse. Of course, this ending is prophesied, so all they've really changed by doing it is take part in what's already happening. That's the premise of Sburb and the dark worlds. Upon entering, they meet card people and chess people, become prophesied heroes, and have to work together to do something important. There's also a heavy aspect of dreams involved, with the main cast of Homestuck having literal dream selves that they control when they sleep that can help them progress, with the ultimate victory being to integrate their 'main' self and their dream self into one being through reaching God Tier. All the talk about breaking through dream sort of relates to Homestuck, too. What am I getting at? Lord English, fate-controlling, universe-shattering, world-ending final boss cherubim, is the inspiration for the angel. Even if it's on accident, I wouldn't be shocked if Toby integrates some of his theme into the Angel's theme. My next thought is Black. If English correlates to the angel, what correlates to The Knight? Imo, the main antagonist from the first half of the story, Jack Noir, the Jack of Spades. His creation as an unbeatable boss is predestined. He acts on his own rage, but his actions serve to push Lord English's agenda (as all things do). And of course, the Jack card is often based off of knights. This one is a lot looser, but it's also a banger and very well-loved. I could see Toby Fox not wanting to resist. My wild card pick is Sunsetter/Sunslammer. It's popular, it fucks, it can fit into a lot of parts. Hell, people have slapped it into megalovania. If Toby just wanted to dig out an old hit like he did Megalovania without resorting to Megalovania, I think this is a fantastic choice.

Ok, so a while ago, I was discussing the Homestuck Penumbra Phantasm you made and learned that there's evidence that Penumbra Phantasm predates the dream that inspired Deltarune. EDIT: Been awhile since I saw your Penumbra video so I forgot that you mentioned that the motif was used across Homestuck, so uh, my bad for the below section where I explain something you likely already know. -You see, while the song isn't used in Homestuck itself, the motifs from Penumbra Phantasm are kind of well, everywhere in Homestuck. (If you want an analogy, imagine if Hopes and Dreams were unused for Undertale. The motifs used in Hopes and Dreams are already used throughout Undertale in other songs.)- Toby had the dream that will (apparently) be Deltarune's ending in 2011 (so this was the birth of Deltarune as a concept seeing as he wanted to make the game with that ending he saw in that dream. However, Savior of the Waking World (which uses most of the motifs from Penumbra Phantasm) was released in 2010. In fact, according to The Unofficial Homestuck Collection (which I'm slowly using to read through Homestuck), the songs "Planet Healer," "Get Up," and "Descend," were all released in 2010 and have the Penumbra Phantasm motif. Personally, I doubt this fully debunks the connection between Penumbra Phantasm and Deltarune, but it does make it less likely, seeing as Penubmra Phantasm likely pre-dated Deltarune as a concept. If there is a connection, though, maybe it's like a chicken and egg situation where the dream Toby had was, like, partially influenced by his work on Homestuck or something. -Also to add, beyond those tracks I listed, the Penumbra Phantasm motif is also used throughout Homestuck. Specific examples that stand out to me are the Umbral Ultimatum and some parts of Cascade (specifically those that were taken from Savior of the Dreaming Dead.)- EDIT: Same thing as the previous edit.

Out of all of these, I think I genuinely believe in Penumbra Phantasm most. "At Shadow's Edge, Shatter The Twilight Reverie" is literally a poetic description of sealing a dark fountain. Think about it, "Shadow's edge" means you have to get to the edge of the dark world, the barrier between it and the light world, that being the source of darkness, the fountain. It might also refer to dark worlds themselves being a "shadow's edge" being somewhere between fantasy and reality. And "edge" in particular might even further reference the stabbing of the ground with a weapon that is required to create one. A "Reverie" is a dream, daydream, or fantasy, so to shatter one would be to remove it from existence, to seal it away and bring back reality. Given that Dark worlds are fantastical worlds created due to the power of darkness and dark fountains, it would be reasonable to associate them with twilight. Also note the use of the word "twilight" instead of say, "midnight", it is the period of dim light between day and night, not absolute darkness, but not light either, further playing into the idea of dark worlds as an in-between liminal space where fantasies come to life. Shattering the Twilight Reverie is the act of sealing the fountain and returning that area of the light world to it's normal state where Darkners are no longer sentient beings and small rooms entire kingdoms or cities, but mere objects and unused spaces, respectively.

My predictions for chapter 3's secret boss' songs: I personally think the secret boss WILL be related to either kris, ralsei, or asriel, so either it is going to be the flowers as a deltarune's darkner counterpart to flowey, like how ralsei is deltarune's darkner counterpart to asriel (maybe it tries to be our friend like how ralsei does, just as a red herring?) or it could be the knockoff game controler, cuz asriel used it, maybe it will have rainbow wings, maybe just a cape, maybe, and the final more probable route, a character based around something Kris liked as a kid, maybe a cowboy toy, his rusted birdcage, something else, so as my predictions, here are the ideas: If ralsei is the base for the secret boss: its song might be "Best friends" or something with that idea, if Asriel is the base for the secret boss, idk maybe it would be game related? Like "En guarde" or maybe... "Battle against a rusted knight." Or whatever, anyways, give me feedback on more ideas.

kris doesn't manipulate noelle in the weird route, you do. noelle points out multiple times that the voice giving her commands is not coming from kris, and all of the "proceed" dialogue options have a second option which is written from kris' perspective, trying their best to change the path that we're going down

Like I'm not saying that means it's related to Deltarune, I feel quite the opposite actually- Toby should be allowed to just shitpost without everyone losing their minds.
