Look at the comeback of Ubisoft man. - Watchdogs 2 redeemed the first game. - Assassins Creed Origins and the constant free events and support and no yearly releases. - Far Cry 5’s improvement over 4. - The Division updated constantly for free to make it one of the best looter shooters out there in its current state. - For Honor not being abandoned and being constantly supported. - Siege being supported with updates and events. - MARIO + Rabbids Actually good to see one of the three companies listen to the players (EA, Activision & Ubisoft)

tbh I get why the villains were so twisted, the shit that happened to them sucked, but none of that excuses their actions towards others. Just because faith is a huge crack whore doesn't mean everyone else in Hope county needs to be. Just because John was physically abused to the point of losing his humanity doesn't mean he should treat others the same, now most of what Jacob's preaching I do agree with, humanity has become weak and all that nonsense, but he's trying to fix it in probably the most horrible and ineffective way yet. Finally, Joseph lost his wife, right? That's why he had his vision or whatever, but he shouldn't have listened. He killed his own kid, and it wasn't even a mercy kill. She would've lived had he not pinched off the ventilator tube. They all deserve death for what they've done to make others suffer, and I gladly delivered. I shot John out of the sky like the pitiful excuse for a human being he was, I shredded faith into bits with an MG-42 and blasted her ass to kingdom come with the RAT-4, I had an insanely fun sniper duel with Jacob and blew his head clean off his shoulders (not really, but had it been real life...), and I whooped Joseph's ass until the bliss fueled "apocalypse" drove us into Dutch's bunker, later to come out of the bliss on top of the only radio tower in the game that you can interact with, that being within the first two hours of gameplay.

@coreyjameshaims4496 жыл бұрын
Harsh Singh If you've played any/all of the others I think you owe it to yourself to give FC5 a go - if only to see how far the series has progressed. FC3 was a game changer for me and this is another level above this. I agree with most reviews that the story/plot could have genuinely been something really interesting, but they've kinda played it safe - it doesn't matter though because the sandbox you get to play in just overshadows this by miles. Honestly is the most rounded in terms of having sheer accessibility to your environment - wingsuits, parachutes/airdrops, helicopters, planes, boats, ATVs/cars/trucks... You can approach any mission in any number of ways it is genuinely impressive. Understand your caution before buying, having looked at in game currency there are microtransactions if you really really wanted but you honestly wouldn't want to bother - just doing missions gives you fighter planes, attack helicopters etc. which is refreshing to see. Personally, I just bought the base game as I'm not interested in any of the DLC packs (unless it is another Blood Dragon!) and you get Far cry arcade for free anyway - this is user created levels and in about 2-3 weeks I can see some fantastic creations coming out from us players and can't wait to see what creative madness appears!
@DiviFilius136 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much guys for your suggestions. I'll give FC5 a go. Looking at all your positive comments regarding this game makes me less apprehensive about Ubisoft now. :) I tend not to trust on 'game reviews' for obvious reasons. Video: Games published by Ubisoft were easily recognizable... Me: The Ubisoft logo at startup is a bit of a giveaway. Video: The UIs were cluttered... Video: And the minimaps-- Me: That you can turn off in the options menu. Video: --were covered in a multitude of icons, collectibles, and miscellaneous tasks. Me: That you can turn off in the options menu. Video: But lately that hasn't been the case. With the release of ACO, Ubisoft shied away from its usual formula. It removed much of the crowded UI-- Me: That you can turn on in the options menu. Video: --and completely erased the infamous mini-map. Me: Replacing it with a compass bar that does the same thing. I personally think Ubisoft stumbled upon something great with this game. Like the reviewer said it reminds me of Fallout 3 with the exploration and humor. I think Bliss could be the new Jet or Psycho! I was reluctant to buy this game, but it it is hands down my favorite game right now! I think if you are a fallout fan you owe it to yourself to play this game, and with some fine tuning Ubisoft could give some of us Fallout fans that are not really impressed with the direction of Fallout 4 something to sink our time into. Lastly, Ubisoft please do a post apocalyptic Far Cry I just want to see it happen.
@lwaves6 жыл бұрын
Since the days of Just Cause 1 and Mercenaries, I've often wondered why nobody has created a game like this but WITHOUT any cutscenes or story. You start by getting dropped into the map somewhere which is being fought over by 2-4 factions. You learn about everything through talking and exploring and as you play, YOU decide which faction (or factions or none of them) you wish to fight for. It opens up so many possibilities to be a goodie, a baddie or a person playing all sides. Do you side with the govt against the locals? Do you aim to take over the location yourself and rule? Or do you support the locals? It offers so many opportunities to delve into the grey areas of morality and "one man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist." You pick the side you want and make your own story.
@psychotictrait37576 жыл бұрын
lwaves You should really try out Saints Row 2. One of the best sandbox games of all time that gave me the freedom of exploring in a natural, unforced way.
@lwaves6 жыл бұрын
+Psychotic Trait I know it well. Not only is it the best SR game (by a long way) it's one of my fave games. I definitely see what you're getting at by suggesting it but you still start as a 'baddie' and it still has a story line to follow, rather than creating your own.
@psychotictrait37576 жыл бұрын
lwaves Ah, I was mostly talking about exploration. How much freedom and momentum the game was. Literally everytime you come out of your crib you’ll see a gang shoot out unfold or police beating the shit out of a civilian. It truly showed how chaotic Stilwater is. I definitely got vibes from that in Far Cry 5. Honestly, Far Cry 5 is one of my favorite open world shooters of all time that’s next to Saints Row 2.
@lwaves6 жыл бұрын
+Psychotic Trait I loved how it had all those underground areas, some you could easily miss without exploring. I really missed that in SR3 and though the map was terrible which then let down the whole game, it was so small yet they gave you planes!! I'm loving FC5 too and yes the story isn't great, or the way it's delivered isn't, but that applies to so many other games too that are still great. I know some others complain about the fact that you're still taking over outposts but it's the freedom of how you do it that makes it fun. And it definitely is fun and entertaining which is surely the main point of gaming.

My real first experience with open world was red dead 2. Totally blown away. Since then I was always searching for some developer who had the insight to know what gamers really wanted. And what gamers want is a non linear exploration into a world where there are few limitations of direction. We got a little of that with Outer Worlds, great game. And I was not completely familiar with the Farcry franchise, but I'm glad I dove in head first. I never experienced issues as far as artifacts or weird anomalies and for 5 was outstanding. Which brought me back to UBIS and Ghost Recon Wildlands. I will admittedly say way more fun in Farcry 5 but all in all since Rock* has decided that GTA is the sword they'll die on, there is a great opportunity for UBI to cash in with the new engines driving a demand from players for that extra that EA sports will in the wildest dreams can never deliver. UBI take the ball and run, and never look back.

I still think Bethesda is the best publisher of this gen but the Ubisoft lineup of games of the past couple of years is mighty impressive,specially if you take in consideration variety and scale. Ubisoft completely destroys EA , Activision ,MS by showing how safe they're playing Kudos to Ubisoft and Yves for turning things around in such a short time and listening to complaints and addressing mistakes they made Their E3 demos are still complete bullshit tho lol , but TBH I almost don't care about the downgrades anymore

Really enjoying it so far after a number of hours. Some things that really bug me though. Animals often spawn right next to you, and frequently when you shoot them they just turn into a random different animal. Not a fan of this psychedelic drug stuff that seems to be doing that. Also hard to get a breather sometimes when you rescue people and are trying to talk to them. Animals or other enemies will appear and keep breaking up the dialogue and you have to start all over once they are dead. It also makes it tough to fish sometimes when enemies keep appearing and ruining your catch.

Meh - it's not on the right track by pulling you out of the game after reaching a certain amount of Resistant Points, it's actually kind of a lazy answer to the problem...which...isn't much of an actual problem really. GTA nails it consistently. You have story missions, you play those to advance the story. End. Farcry 5 just limits how much side stuff you can do before you're forced to advance the story - that's a patch job to solve a problem that doesn't even really exist.
@bradenmiller39076 жыл бұрын
I agree, I want to do it all of but get force to contribute the main story. Especially when you kill one of the main lieutenants, all the enemies roaming the region disappear.

also the fact that all three regions and the missions are fundamentally the same? Like cmon. "A SEAL HAS BEEN OPENED"
@Hawarka6 жыл бұрын
agreed, this is definitely the worst thing about the game, i even tried to ignore saving hostages and other non quest things that give me rp so i could fo do more before the end but it still not enough, they should’ve just let the story progress with story quests like any game with open world does
@jonelson19836 жыл бұрын
Agree. I HATE the forced kidnappings that ruin gameplay when I want to do something else in the game. It ruins the flow - so much so I got bored by the 2nd region and haven't gone back to it since. Shame as it's a beautiful game to look at.

I always thought that a far cry taking place on the celtic uprising would be cool, more advanced melee combat, weapons crafting, you can pick who to be with between the Celts and the romans, noticeable historic figures like boudica and paulinus, and an area system taking place in the Roman colosseum

Pretty much have to do quests if you want to progress the game. Otherwise you can just blow some shit up and get a few points here and there. It will take a hell of a lot longer to progress the game, but still fun.

Why dont anyone call out the fact that they went back to a silent protagonist, and how it absolutely kills all immersion... dont get me wrong I liked the game but why make it a silent protagonist game? they havent done that since Far Cry 2...

Shadowstalker3000 your right but, it definatley doesnt ruin it
@psychotictrait37576 жыл бұрын
Shadowstalker3000 Having a silent protagonist doesn’t kill the immersion because you’re experiencing the story first-hardly unlike when you’re playing as a pre-made character with a voice. You’re suppose to be the rookie deputy.

I am running around like a badass, killing enemy´s left and right and they have nothing that can touch me! Then the game decides that it needs me to lose for a cut scen, invent a magic bullet that takes me down in one hit and there is nothing i can do about it. O and the enemy firing the bullet is invisible!, shows up out of no where, even tho i am hiding in a place the would never find me! This is making me so pissed off! As soon as the game needs me for story, it pretty much teleport´s me there, giving me no choice in the mater. So i find my self tied to a chair again, skipping the cut scen, so i can go play the game again! O and do not get me started on the church scene, who the frack walks in thru the front door when they know the enemy is inside? O and if you do, you don´t walk in like a moron, head first! You go slow with gun up, so you can shoot if needed! But no, the game needs you captured, so they put you in a cut scen so they can hit you on the head with the but of there rifle. Besides this i love the game, so stop forcing me to lose when i wouldnt unless the game cheated!
@AlmightyBryan6 жыл бұрын
it’s supposed to happen. i found it annoying also but then i noticed it was a part of the story.

A lot of people complain about the forced captures, but you're absolutely right in that it's a far more organic way of driving the main story forward. If you end up missing a few side missions, well, you can go back and do them when the main story is complete. As a company not only making an open world game, but trying to tell a story through it can be really challenging, and this is a good way to address the problem with pacing. It did seem a bit extreme, though, with every hostage rescued or silo destroyed progressing you towards those unavoidable cuts. But the ending? Any of them? Ug. That's one part I can't overlook.

@MrThistleMilk6 жыл бұрын
I feel like all the Far Cry games have lack luster endings, the game is incredibly fun and the tension build right up to the climax is exhilarating, until of course right at the end where they leave with you multiple endings that all end up being disappointing. The worst one has got to be Far Cry 3s "Good Ending" where you end up getting a nice picture of a boat leaving the island and a bit of narrative, like wtf man. Game is still fucking awesome though.
@ValiantInstance6 жыл бұрын
Why because the good guys didn't win? It was a curveball I didn't see coming, most original game ending I've seen in a while. Reminded me of LA Noire where in the end nothing you did mattered but sometimes that's just how life is. It was far more entertaining than struggling with Joseph Seed over a knife and stabbing him in a QTE event.
@fatjawns36716 жыл бұрын
Alex So you literally save all these people in the game for nothing? Liberate the whole county for nothing? Thats a shit ending dude idk what you’re on.

RetardedTurtle fuck that. From your opinion, Red dead redemption's ending is bad too?

The game designers aren't obligated to give you an ending that makes you feel good. The game was over whether you won or not, I don't see the problem.

After sinking about 20 hours into the game spit up between my own story and co-op with friends i can say this is the most honest review ive come across. Theres always gonna people who play it for 5 minutes and hate it for no reason besides its not another brain dead CoD or other who paint it as the greatest gift to video games. I found it to be deep and rich but still feel a bit of let down and hunger for the story that could have been. But as time goes on more lore is uncovered theories formulated and more reason to return into the fight. Sweet video. Liked and subbed

One thing I'm so happy about with Ubisoft is how much more emphasis they're putting into their side quests. In AC:Origins, the sidequests could have (in most, not all cases) easily been mistaken as full blown story quests rather than optional side content. This is a very, very good shift and Ubisoft just needs to continue to expand on these little things to make their games better. All they really need to change is the lootbox/microtransaction stuff and quit locking content behind an online service. Include everything in the game without purchase or online challenges, just give us fun, goofy stuff that doesn't actually add anything other than bragging rights.

this is my first FAR CRY and i love it so much i love how immersive it is. how you have to search for things like letters. The only thing i would improve is have a good animation for gutting your animal. its will be more satisfying after hunting, instead of a random slit just appearing on your prey
