The Secrets of the Sleeper Temple

Today we take a look at some peculiar murals which can be found deep inside the Temple of the Sleeper.

@@vertigo7082 I just hope the gothic remake tackles all of this and leave aswell some of the mysteries or make them even more interesting, because there is alot of stuff they can miss if it took us such a long time, I can't blame them.

@@bearpupy2909 They should leave some things in the dark, for sure. I don't want everything explained but Gothic doesn't really have much information/lore to begin with so I hope too that they give us some more.

As the guy below mentioned, Polish community community is fanatical about Gothic and I thought our "researchers" had already checked every texture and file in the game and yet I am positively surprised! And omg Gothic iceberg, instant sub! As for the second tile with the dragon - there is a possibility that a normal Gothic demon is depicted there. It looks similar and breathes fire in its idle animation and during combat if I remember correctly (although I don't think it dealt fire damage). Again, great video!

Thanks mate! I think it is safe to assume that it is indeed a dragon. After I made this video, some people told me that a dragon was supposed to be fought before the Sleeper.

This is what I love about the Sleeper Temple. The vibe, the architecture and all these depictions on the walls are what make its unique vibe. Congrats for the video!

1) first picture could be sleeper coming back to his dimension but that would mean he already knows what will happen and that doesn't make sense. Maybe orcs had some visions and thats why prophecy about Holy Foe 🫣2) Second picture was mindblowing for me bcs this looks like Undead Dragon fighting with our hero. 3) That looks like Jharkendar reference or could very well be our Hero again on the throne as this exactly has happened. 4) final picture ( send shivers down my spine) im not joking. I dont know what it is but it looks like some sort of dragon face demon 👾👾👾

@@vertigo7082On second thought i think it could be also Sleeper but unfinished. From distance you can see that long mask shape where mouth suppose to be. You've done perfect job, nobody ever mentioned this or found about this. I tried to scan the pictures in google lens and nothing 👺 only some unrelated things. When i tried this final picture, it gave me some paranormal stuff and pictures ( funny) 😵 Outside almost raining and i watched this half creepy interesting video 👑✌️

@@tikeyyX Don't get spooked too much! Some time ago, when I was digging for more information on these I found them on the german Gothic-Wiki. They said that the reliefs depict the "holy foe", the prophecy Xardas told us about. There is also a different picture that I couldn't make sense of but here the humanoid creature with the shield is clearly visible from a frontal perspective: almanach.worldofgothic.de/index.php/Heiliger_Feind

@@vertigo7082 Thanx man that helped. That all makes sense. I needed to translate it to my language (im from czech republic) this i believe is exclusive for german site. I didnt find this on czech or english pages. That makes sense bcs Gothic is german game ⭐ The picture with green must be incomplete Orc i believe (maybe) That spooky picture is what i cant figure out but as i said ( probably Beliar or Sleeper) 🌪️

Well they are kinda out of sight since the minute details aren't really visible unless you cheat yourself up there OR look through the texture files themselves. I was surprised as well :)

I do really find and always find the architecture in gothic universe very interesting. Yeah the game tells us a message but how could it predict the future?

A connection with the Sleeper and the dragons is what lacked Gothic 3 to preserve that dark, sinister, mature atmosphere, very apart from the rest of its mechanics and deacting. It feels without a soul because Gothic more than a history of humans and orcs, is a fight of good and evil, it is the confrontation against the sleeper and his dragons which made him unique and interesting. Excellent video 😌👌🏻 10/10

It's not much but the hashishin have the mask of the sleeper (beliar's symbol) on the their flag. Even the statues of beliar have the same symbol.

Mural 1 - Orc warrior slayed the winged beast or a dragon. Mural 2 - Orc warrior becomes a war chief of his people. Mural 3 - Sleeper emerged from the shadows and enveloped them into darkness thus making them bad guys of the gothic.

@@vertigo7082 Text from the comment is one of those idle lines that npc would say in the background, due to fanatical worship of Gothic genre in my country, I made that comment as a joke, in hope more poles would stumble upon it and continue (not immediately of course), guess because I encountered comment sections filled with those lines, and it was funny to me.

The third one is Dex. You an see his hand, hair, face...Dex is the Sleeper. Elex was most likely intended as a Gothic prequel. Björn Pankratz said he wants to make a game about Evolution. Evolution of what? Albs are Orks. Alb is an older word for Elf, and the opposite of an Alb is a Berserker drinking mana juice called ORiK. The Singularity is going to revert their nature, turning the Albs into Orks and the Sky-Ants into...Minecrawlers are Ants. Dex went to sleep in a Skyand device. When you defeat the sleeper, you hear a child screaming several times as he is banished... Jack and Daxter. Daxter is...transformed.

About that Dragon. I have a feeling that what it actually shows isn't a dragon but a demon prince with its elongated snout and a single pair of arms/ no legs.

The daggers of undead orc shamans (used to destroy their hearts) look similar to Ore Dragon Slayer sword from Gothic 2. Just compare them. Also possible oversight from Piranha Bytes but you can find dragon blood in Greg's treasures, when the last dragons were seen hundreds of years ago?

That 'humanoid figure' fighting the dragon, as well as the one sitting on the throne, look quite orcish, and it stands to reason that they're depictions of orcs.
