They stayed together as a group til her death. I love their music, as it's just them and a few instruments. No fancy anything, no autotune, no loud instruments, no high pitched singing that sounds more like a person screeching rather then singing, and just plain pleasant to hear. Thank you for reacting to The Seekers.

@D. Lynn: Thank you for this review. The Seekers were truly a breath of fresh air, for sure. I LOVE them, and always will. Groups could be more simple back then, because they had talent. This is true whether we are talking The Seekers, The Platters, Marvin Gaye, or The 5th Dimension. Talent!

Correct-a-mundo D. Lynn!!! That LaBamba riff is unmistakable for sure - but this song is so sweet and pure and I fell in love as a teenager with Judith the first time I saw her and the boys... I followed them throughout their careers and she was still as sweet and beautiful even at the end of her life. She was a gracious lady and a national treasure in Australia for sure. Thanks for bringing back such a sweet and wonderful memory of my teen years - this old, gruff Grampa can still shed a few tears and this one for sure allowed me to do that! RichieC (Atlanta)

The Seekers remind me of the Beatnik/Hippy/Coffeehouse groups of my youth back in the 50's and 60's. Guitars, tambourines, and good vocals were all you needed to make the rounds of the coffeehouses of the 50's and 60's.

Nice reaction. As a matter of fact, the Seekers' proud Australian anthem I am Australian was written by only one member of the Seekers group, that member being Bruce Woodley, on guitar in the middle of the line-up shown in the video. Keith Potger on 12 string guitar is to his right, and Athol Guy on double bass is to his left. Bruce wrote the anthem along with a friend and fellow musician Dobe Newton, who wasn't in the Seekers group. Bruce has a certain renown as a prolific singer and songwriter throughout his career as both a band member and as a solo artist.

They were not just number one, but they knocked off the Beatles to get there.

In the early sixties there was a brief folk revival before electric guitars with their sounds, new rhythms and frankly volume energized rock music. During the folk period The Seekers, Sandpipers, The Kingston Trio and so many more made music with acoustic instruments and chorales.chorale. To give you an idea of the loyalty of the "folk revival" people in contrast to the "electric rock" groupies the first time Bob Dylan showed up with an electric guitar he was booed on the stage.

The Seekers were another great Australian folk pop band from the 60's. Judith Durham had such a beautiful voice. She just passed away recently. They had so many great hits including "Georgy Girl", "The Carnival Is Over", "A World Of Our Own", "Morningtown Ride", "Someday, One Day" etc. They have beautiful voices & harmonies. They don't make nostalgic music like this anymore. Reminds me of a simpler time.
