Just picked one of these up online. The pictures showed the numbers with a reflection so it looked like a legible contrast. But I can’t read it at all while driving or when I wake up for work at night. Cool watch during the day, terrible if you need to use it in low light conditions, the lume does f*** all for it too

I bought the 09 this week, I know that there are better options out there, but something about having that exposed case back and the sleek blacked out design really strikes me in a good way. I didn’t really like the clasp bracelet, so I swapped them out for a black and red striped NATO strap, which I think looks incredible. One other small thing, in the video I noticed you didn’t say that the seconds hand is different between the two models, but it’s not really too noticeable

I have the impression that the "Sports" line branched from the traditional Seiko 5 and could be pretty well-completed by an equally better line of dress watches - with the actual size of dress watches, of course - in a similar manner. That would be an interesting evolution from the basic Seiko 5 of the 1960s.

I have the watch with the bracelet (the 09)and the glow in the dark is a big fail, in direct sunlight it charges but only lasts maybe 30 seconds

Looks amazing! The only thing that could make them perfect for me is improved accuracy. +45/-35 sec/day - it’s almost 1 added/missed minute a day, probably need to correct time at least once a week …

I never had any of my Seiko with that bad accuracy, even though they were rated that way. Even my 7S26 watches usually ran in - 7 / +10 range, my sarb033 is in a cosc territory.

These look awesome. Been trying to find a blacked out watch that i like. The Hamilton Khaki Field thats black has really long lugs which make for a gappy appearance with two piece straps. The Seiko looks much more proportionate with a nice short lug to lug. Great video Mark!

Regarding the luminescent dials. People often talk about how bright they are, but what about the duration it lumes? On this watch for example. How long will you be able to tell the time in darkness? Oh and by the way, does it come as battery powered too?

I like everything except the black markers; dark numerals are fine, but you at least need the indices to be able to read the time. The texture of the dial looks great, but the whole point of wearing a watch is to be able to tell the time at a glance.

So "pye" rounded up is 3.142 otherwise it goes into forever.Great to work out diameters and tangents and very usefull working out arches in construction.Sorry ...your t shirt was more interesting than the watch.It looks like pye squared against any other watch frankly.You cant reinvent a true circle either.Mind you its easy to work out the diameter if you know the radius.

They really aren't a great value anymore. $300+ with no sapphire and hollow end links/ pressed clasp. So many smaller brands offer way better value. Also, if you want a big brand just look for a Hamilton on sale. I have seen khakis go for $450 and that's miles better for only $100 extra.

I recently received my BJ8057-27X that I love but also am a little pi..ed that Citizen didn't bother to put any colored lacker into the digit grooves on the bezel. If you're having trouble with your camera exposure, maybe check the picture profile your using. Often when I film things I'll switch to a "natural" picture profile, then drop the contrast to something like -5 in the profile's settings. Default video profiles often have a very saturated and contrast-y look. I don't think it looks bad though, just trying to help if you're still trying to tweak things.

The 4r /n36 movement is not thick. They could have made it under 12mm thickness. Seiko prices to me are not worth it anymore to me. Seiko 5 watches used to be for entry-level low-cost options. Now the price is rather high for what you get. I am not blaming you as a reseller but you can get so much more for your money with brands like Orient for example. Plus the QC problems are getting worse from what people are telling me. I think your islander line you get a lot more for your money than Seiko as well. Better bracelets with screws, sapphire crystal, more micro-adjustments, and better priced for what you get.
