I think silence is okay as long as you communicate with your partner that you need time. I agree communication is key. If you are silent and don’t explain yourself it can be interpreted as rejection. If you say “I need a bit of time to process what you are saying”, then I understand you need time. But silence without communication is not healthy.

I believe it is really important to understand that a man just like a woman is responsible for communicating what is going on within him. If you want to take time say that. If you want to not talk say so. What bring problems is when one party thinks the other party should know what is going on within them without carrying the responsibility of communication.

Thank you guys for this. Your Love and faithfulness with God allowed Jesus to speak from one to the other in a highly sensitive way. Where you both were comforted. That spoke to me the importance of being honest with Jesus about the way we feel. Because he can actually be the true advocate we need to be understood by another. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” Romans 8:28-29 NIV “to be conformed to the image of his Son” The Lion and the Lamb

Basically, a man who emulates the characteristics of Jesus. When he said "you need a lion and a lamb"; quite literally Jesus is the Lion of Judah but also the sacrificial Lamb of God. Jesus wasn't a whimp but He was gentle and meek. He wasn't a tyrant but He was stern and principled. Gentle and strong can exist simultaneously. Jesus is proof. What I'm learning as a woman is to; 1. Choice: Give my husband room to process his thoughts and feelings. Give him grace to work through his emotions by himself until he's ready to share them with me. 2. Chains: Cover Him in prayer so that the Holy Spirit will help him work through any learnt behavior based off of trauma. To never stop surrendering him to God because only God can work on parts of him that I cannot reach. 3. Consent: Learn to create a safe environment for him to speak. Not everytime he opens up about his emotions am I required to have a response. Sometimes he just wants to know that he is heard. I'm learning so much in this season Holy Spirit. Especially where a man and his emotions are concerned. Granted, I'll only really truly be able to apply all this wisdom once I'm actually married but what a privilege it is to be learning all of this in my single season❤️ Thank you🥰❤️

OMG. I was just TRYING to have this conversation with the last guy I was dating but he just couldn't get there. He was trying to EXTRACT agreement on every issue pertaining to men but was dismissive of my desire to agree to disagree. I'm like, "If I love you and know this is a source of disagreement, why are you going to continue to bring this up again and again?!" He's definitely chasing some sort of psychological need but couldn't recognize that's what the bottom line was. It was super sad to experience. 😞

Yes. The Holy Spirit told me that just because we can communicate as women. Don't mean we communicate well. Women need to learn how to listen accurately, be quiet for a minute, and sit in it for a minute in Jesus name. Everything don't need a response, and don't need it right then and there. Women need to learn how to let things simmer down and just be, and just simply be in JESUS name. AMEN.

I pray my husband who isn't present until he traumatizes me is sensitive and sensitive and starts to provide a safe space he took away. I've was always his safe space until we married and he started abusing me like every other woman he was with. He doesn't see me. He doesn't hear me. He doesn't invest or take time for me. For everyone else he does. For himself he does. It kills me. 20 years of friendship and 2 years of marriage and he has never chose me.

Sis I want to apologize on his behalf. Your responsibility and role as a wife doesn't require you to feel and be treated horrible. Relationships are supposed to be reciprocal and safe for both. We need to be affirmed, loved, heard, seen and respected equally. I pray you receive these things back. ❤️
