We really worked hard on it and we're glad that it's getting all this appreciation! Also, as a technical note, some of the room mistakes at 4:22 at 10:30 are patching errors. I played the game and I loved every moment of it the added difficulty of most of the Pokémon had forced me to really think and use items I never really used and stuff and to my displeasure the double and overpriced reviver seeds were of course hard to get tho I wish there was a satisfying post game or extra stuff to this rom hack I honestly was preying and hoping that u took over dark rai body and go back to ur partner to tell them the good news or something maybe even a post game where ur constantly fighting darkrai for control of ur body or something and each fight darkrai gets stronger and stronger or something

@@mgamobilegamingamature8684 the trick to getting reviver seeds is the spinda's bazaar's recycling program. You can trade in a few low value, easy to find items for one. I was swimming in reviver seeds by the end of my playthrough, haha!

hi, i was one of this hacks playtesters! max(the main creator of the hack)'s difficulty adjustments were pretty great, but my favourite thing about the whole experience was seeing people react to the plot in real time as it released. people had so many theories and ideas and everyone had a blast with it. really happy that i was able to help with the hacks development and that so many people love it as much as i and everyone else on the team did. thanks for making this video and showing EoTS to everyone! ps: im surprised you didnt have much issue with the monster houses-- it took me dying in one to find out that friend rescues were bugged in dungeons that had them. not rly something youd notice unless youre in the discord where, at least back when it was releasing, people would post SOS codes sometimes, but yk

I became interested in the mod through this video. Watched the first 10 minutes of the video and decided to give the mod a go. And boy: This was an incredible experience. I'm a big Mystery Dungeon fan from the very beginning. Heck, I even wrote a huge retelling of Explorers of Sky with a hero character that felt very close to the protagonist of this mod: Feisty, chatty, moody, but still with a good heart. So, I felt attached to the story from the start till the very end. And right after that the usual sadness kicked in after finishing a MD game. It's like a farewell to a beloved friend. I liked the idea of type-themed dungeons. Some of ''em were a bit rough. But it's doable. The fact that Reviver Seeds were rare, made for a nice change of pace. It's very clear that this mod was made for veteran players. Not only because of the clearly noticeable higher difficulty, higher shop prices for Reviver Seeds, but also because of the story. Without knowing the original game, it would leave players confused multiple times for sure (well, that's time traveling stories for ya). I love the chatty hero character, their attitude, their conflict and their character development. Same goes for the character development of other characters. Breloom is a bit of a enigma of a character and I was a bit sad to see him just walk his own path in the end. But still: Breloom is a prime example of authentic characters with a actual soul, with a conviction, but also with self-doubt, which leads to more character development in the end. Something like him or the hero character is still missing in mainstream Pokémon games, and I'm really happy to see that the fanbase is taking care of this. I will write a detailed review in a big German Pokémon forum the next view days. Will be overwhelming positive with just some tiny nitpicks here and there. Kudos to the developers! Your cleverness, creativity and determination is outstanding!

The main character is a person who exacts their own sense of justice/morality on the world and goes around declaring others as "good" or "bad" pokemon as they see fit and it was really interesting to see someone with this perspective in a PMD game. Which is why the encounter with Armaldo was one of the important points of the story where for the first time our high and mighty MC meets a pokemon who was once an outlaw but clearly has changed and lives a peaceful life. But to MC the minute they hear he was an outlaw, it doesn't matter. He is tagged as a bad pokemon in their mind and thus needs to be punished, and they are further offended that Wigglytuff would send to talk to someone "like this". It was really interesting to see this kind of character in a PMD game, and the partner's trust in them after a few game events starts to look a little more like codependency. I thought this was gonna be a dark story where the MC goes further down the path of insanity/their own sense of justice death note style as they become Darkrai, and the partner being their Misa Misa always following behind them out of a sense of needing someone else to feel complete. It's not what the story ended up being, I still enjoyed it lol, but this version I built in my head as I kept playing sounded just as cool. I mean I thought for sure that's what was gonna happen with that sharpedo bluff scene where MC was like "I don't care about anyone, not even my partner, everyone is just tools for my ambition" like that was never addressed again lmao and we never get confirmation if the MC truly thinks this or not. That moment I thought for sure that this whole time MC was even deceiving us (the player) and they would keep spiraling down their warped path of justice.

I was very mixed when I had played through this one. There was a lot of good ideas and additions like the extended dialogue with characters, your character not taking crap from anybody, and the dream sequence was very well done. But the whole Breloom swap felt out of place (but for programming reasons I know why he was forced in), your character would purposely pick a fight with Armaldo for no real reason, and the whole alternate universe thing just opens up a can of worms that really rubbed me the wrong way.

I understand not liking the alternate dimension part, but the bit with Armaldo is explained, it doesn't come out of nowhere. The anger the player character has towards Armaldo is a result of a lot of anger built up from everything that's been happening, and the instinct to follow their aura. Aka the aura of Darkrai, and a desire to control by any means possible. So them getting frustrated and lashing out is inevitable because they won't accept help and don't want to be seen as a "bad Pokémon", which they think is why Wigglytuff sent them there

Zero/Cindy has a whole rewrite of the main character giving them a slight boost and character development. A little stressed out, but is good-hearted and in good spirits. The main character also reacts to stuff in a way that's real, too.

Honestly this IS the sequel to Explorers of Sky. It's absolutely astounding to play if you have already played Explorers of Sky. It has twists, it has tie ins, it has references, it has an emotional and compelling story. It's basically the closest, highest quality sequel we are going to get. I'm satisfied with it, although I think it still has immense potential left over. If the team ever decides to continue work, they will have a chance to make it match the quality of Sky on it's own. You owe it to yourself to play this if you still think about the Mystery Dungeon games this many years later.

Hmmm the story seemed great. My only gripe being how Giratina was portrayed. Seriously? Why must there always be devil themes with him? FR even in legends Arceus there's some kind of deal with the devil type shit and its even worse that it they trade souls away inside the distortion world..... Oh but thats just me. Still I really loved that the PC talked and had some kind of anger issues which really made it a ton of fun to see how much different he was and how he was acting. Being more confrontational and uh violent... damn we were beating the crap out of Zubat lol. The og protag is a silent good boy with a pure soul. Gaslighting our partner who.....just has way to much faith in us and to see his faith finally crack when he leaves just as you're about to fight armaldo opens our eyes to seeing how much of a prick we really are. Also earlier the scene where Chatot catches team skull in the act felt so good. Sadly there is no post game so what you see is what you get and there was a lot to get. Bittersweet ending though, seeing as you seemingly never return to your partner. Still I wonder what becomes of the soul of the actual chosen one? Or maybe there was simply no need for them to exist. Love it so much thats for sure

This is a dumb complaint. 1. Giratina was under Darkrai’s control the whole story. 2. Giritina is literally the Pokémon devil. It is a foil to Arceus, who is the god of all Pokémon. The distortion world is the underworld, hades, hell, whatever you want to call it, where Giratina resides. Of course the game is going to explore themes of Giratina being Satan, that’s how he’s been portrayed his whole existence.

The distortion world has literally nothing to do with harboring the souls of the damned or punishing sinners. The distortion world is entirely empty except for Giratina. Second Giratina hasn't really been displayed as a force of evil. He saves the day in Platinum by destroying Cyrus and even joins your team if you capture him. And except for in legends arceus where they barely even explore Giratina's backstory or motivations and instead focus on the most uninteresting, most useless, waste of time, and space character Volo. He usually does things in the interest of keeping the sinnoh safe. He's more of a guardian

This would cause multitude of people to actually not only know about Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, but also see this story and understand why Mystery Dungeon stories like these are so unique and special to those who played these...It's a crime it's never turned into a animated feature film but man, that's something I would watch along with my analogue horror videos on youtube. 25:00 Wow, no happy ending in this one...I would say this one would make an actual child cry...It's basically the middle ending, but it feels awful....God I hope that main character we used is still out there in good spirit.

So that's what I thought about, until I realize I don't know why I made this comment in the first place, when it was just minor complaints about a game that I've only watched a walkthrough of it, to realize it's fine as it is, and sometimes, dark endings make people question or consider (to interpretation) what could happen later on in the series and such.

bud making sonic OC is also technically illegal because copyright. Is SEGA going after every 8 year on the internet with a recolored profile pic because of it? Just because it's illegal on paper doesn't mean companies care enough lol thousands and thousands of people emulate games all the time. If anything it's the best form of game preservation for people who didn't have the money/time to experience a lot of these old games in their prime. Trust me, nothing wrong with emulation. Game companies are not missing out from one person not buying from them. You owe it to yourself to experience this wonderful hack.
