Loved this game but had to stop because of Rage and a scatched up Screen (I was 12 and sucked)

I remember playing this game as a kid and didn't make it past arcticuno because I couldn't do the drawings 😭

This game came out during my mentally developmental teen years and it really struck me. To this day it is my absolute favorite game if all time almost entirely because of the partner and their personality.To me, the partner will always be Vulpix. I just can't picture this game without Vulpix and that cute little hopping walk cycle. Vulpix just feels right for the partner's personality imo. It helps that Vulpix is so damn cute that it makes you want to protect them when they are scared. Everything in this game is so cute. I actually did cry at the ending. XD

haha the victory road team rocket battle and Jessie's Arbok gave me a flashback, when I was trying to breed Pokemon for the Kalos elague in this game I accidentally got a perfect Ekans, I was not too excited about it but decided to raise it anyways, the bugger Proceeded to sweep the Lysander fights (some of the hardest non-frontier brain fights in the game) and the entire Kalos league baring the steel type E4 member

I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THERE WAS AN ICON FOR THE SEVEN TREASURES THANK YOU

Pokémon ranger was my first DS game and what got me into the series. Love seeing at least someone talk about this game more than "ha ha funny top spinning Pokémon spinoff"

Spike Chunsoft would have to be stupid beyond belief not to remake this game for the switch, so many people still play it to this day!

the most unrealistic part of this game is that the cities are full of minorities but they look nice and not at all slummy

this game doesn’t have the best story, and it’s a bit clunky, but god the world it sets up is so whimsical, even more than any other game in the series imo. In my opinion it manages to make exploring so interesting and the characters are great, for all its problems it really feels like it has a soul like the rest of the series

I'll be honest, I half watched this to see you attempt the mess that was the multiplayer stuff played solo, only to see that you appear to have gotten stuck in the exact same place as I did years ago (given that was the footage on screen, which is burned into my memory from way too many attempts). Whatever, it was fun to relive the game.

Explores of time, darkness and sky are just,chef's kiss. Time was my favorite side game growing up. I need to find another copy,and sky as well.

I also chose a Piplup as my partner in my first playthrough. I'm not sure why, but it just felt right (I was a Treecko). You say that you'll refer to the partner Pokémon as "tht partner", but honestly, even within the canon of the game, it's not clear that this makes sense. There's a strong case that the protagonist of the _Mystery Dungeon: Explorers_ story *is* the "partner", rather than the player; in other words, the player is the real partner, and the "partner" is actually the main character of the story. The "partner" controls the relic fragment. The "partner" is the character who is destined to save the world. The "partner" is the character who follows the archetypal Hero's journey (the relic fragment is the call to adventure that the hero is unwilling or unable to address alone; the player is the supernatural helper/mentor that sets the hero on their path). The "partner" is the character that the story continues to follow, even after the player has been erased from existence. _Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers_ is Piplup's story, not ours. just got past you beating the main story a few minutes ago, but in case you didnt mention it in the video, i had to let the comments know: once you beat the game, a new sign shows up on the title screen when you boot the game. if you input that sign you get to use the mewtwo you just beat

100 hours and still being a Pikachu while your partner is fully evolved. That tracks. Evolution items are so hard to consistently get for no reason.

I never thought I would enjoy a Pokémon spin off game as much as I enjoyed conquest

It's an odd feeling how much nostalgia specifically PMD gives me compared to other games from my childhood. I think it's a mix of the challenge and superb stories that they have. Watching these videos puts the drive in me to complete the things I never did as a kid, like clearing all icons in the OG or beating the post game in PMD Explorers of Sky.

Spiritomb is an annoying boss, but Sheidon's partner ability helps keep track of its movements by a status condition it places on Spiritomb. If you ever happen to play this game again, id recomend trying Shieldon for this boss
