Just for historic context/the record, this sermon was actually delivered in 2002 and was uploaded to KZbin in 2006. So it’s over 20 years old which is wild. It set me on fire as a teen in the 2010s.

I knew that something was wrong with me when I accepted Jesus Christ. I have now asked him for mercy and repented and believed the Gospel. I am counting the cost and am willing to decrease so he will increase. I saw this sermon before and it is life changing. I'm thankful for Paul Walker's ministry. I am thankful for your content as well. You're a blessing. Grace and Peace to you and your family.

I knew I wasn’t a Christian when I first saw this in 2020 when The Holy Spirit was stirring me to read my Bible and showed me to leave my pentecostal church of nonsense with tongues and motivation speech each Sunday using a verse of Scripture out of context. For 19 years I believed I was a Christian then watched this, read my Bible, left that church and started attending a Bible preaching church and was slowly listening to his sermons and many others by sound Biblical teachers like Dr Voddie Baucham, Dr R.C. Sproul et al. I was clearly a CINO (Christian in name only) I cannot thank God my holy Father enough for redeeming me and pulling me out of the domain of darkness. I can say I am saved by grace🙏🥹

Two preachers woke me up from the deception of the prosperity theology and NAR: In 2013, Paul Washers 'shocking' youth message and David Wilkerson's "Urgeent Message" --both men came from opposing camps, Washer was a Reformed Baptist and Wilkerson was a classical Pentecostal, but they were both captured by the holiness of Christ, the power of the gospel and the reality of Christ. They were passionate about the word of God preached. They were type of prophets because they sound the alarm on false teachers creeping into the church. Praise God for His grace for rescuing me from deception!

I remember hearing this sermon 7 years ago, and I felt called out because I grew up watching televangelists and I thought 'naming and claiming' was christianity. I needed to properly convert to christianity so I join the RCIA course and became a baptised confirmed catholic (don't come for me, this works for me). I now know, understand and have a whole new reverence for the Lord. I don't care for denominations, but discerning each teaching was too much... since I couldn't understand why people like Mike Todd, Benny Hinn, Joel Osteen, etc. had such large congregations. As my faith has grown, I have learnt to do that hard thing. Praying for you all my brothers and sisters, please pray for me.

Like you said...Jesus doesn't need our "acceptance", we need His! At a time in my life where I was studying other religions or philosophies to see what was really true, I heard this sermon and Paul Washer's sermon "Examine Yourself" (along with his wife's testimony) and they hit me like a ton of bricks. Even though I grew up going to a church building, my conversion when I was younger (mid teens) wasn't real and to be honest, I never truly knew what Jesus dying on a tree really meant. But after listening to those sermons and hearing the gospel, God saved a wretch like me. He took my heart of stone and gave me a heart of flesh so now, the things I used to love, I now hate and vice versa. Jesus not only saves our soul from hell but he also saves our minds now.

He preaches what people need to hear. The pure Gospel. P.S. The worship is disgusting in so many churches, you're spot on. It's emotion, it's lights, it's songs that glorify us, and not God.

The sinners prayer is has lost it's true meaning in today's church. I completely agree with Paul because church leaders just say a prayer and lead people to believe that because they said that prayer they are good yet the other steps are avoided: seeking to walk the way God wants them too, living a life pleasing to God according to Scripture, etc... another thing that irks me as well is when preachers are counting the amount of pple that raises their hands to say the sinners prayer as if it's the battle of who can get the most pple to say the sinners prayer, doesn't seem authentic to me at all 🤷🏾
