Yupp, just remake Settlers 4 with this engine and give it a much better and reliable enemy AI and you've got the best Settlers game ever.

Before I played only the first episode on Amiga 600 (1992/1993) I don't remember . I'll wait the Xbox series X version, I don't trust my PC engine

I originally played this on the Amiga 500 back in the 1990's. Luckily they brought out the A500 mini, so the original is still available. I was really looking forward to this game, but from what I've been reading online. It's a disaster.

It's hard not to be an old man and go "i remember"... but... the previous games felt more lush with plant life. This just seems wide open, sandy, and lacking the forests. With the little mushrooms, little animals running about. Having to chop through areas of trees and stone making way for your sprawling village. This looks too barren. Does it get better?

Just a few questions. Does this PC version have xbox achievements? Will it allow cross platform play when it's released on other devices (xbox, ps4/5 and so on)? Is the delux version much better, or is it just skin packs?

Ive got it, i am enjoying it.. but .. ive had multiple crash to desktop and the pathfinding is very bad too.. and few other little bugs but after waiting so long for the release its a shame.. lol even quiting the game makes it crash for me! but nothing game breaking.. Yet!

Firstly i hope all the "controversy" over this game has settled to a reasonable level. Secondly your cam covers whatever information/window that opens on the right side, so we are missing some context to what is happening.

My man settlers 1 was way before Age Of Empires 1, so it would be other way around if anything. But then again there are plenty of RTS who came before them.

It is a New Game with other Settings in The Developement they Chance/erase all good Features and Ubisoft make this with a Historical Brand and call it Settlers That makes me so sad.... -_-

So there's a long story as to how the game came to be in it's current state; however, the creator of the original Settlers is actually working on a game called Pioneers of Pagonia, which will be coming out in Q4 of this year. Evidently, he was working on The Settlers: New Allies, but left part way through development because of where Ubisoft was taking the game.

Are you being paid by Ubisoft to be as positive as possible ? You claim to be a Settlers player of the first hour, 'your childhood game' .. And then you have nothing but praise for this game ? I am not paid to be positive : THIS GAME SUCKS. The Settlers 1 on Amiga was nothing like this, it had depth in the production lines, you had to be careful at managing resources or you would fail. The game came with a map GENERATOR, every new game had a completely new map. I played maybe some 3000 games in 10 years on 3000 generated maps. They promised us a 'Back to the roots' style game. Don't make me laugh, did they even try to get it right ? Old skool Settler players want the original Settlers game with modern graphics and support for high resolutions and a map generator (that last bit makes that game last for a decade if not longer) We do not want a different game.

Maybe you watch the second episode first now ;-) Nope - I even bought it myself. In general, I try to be as open as possible for a game. I intentionally avoided the Beta last year so I could now be more objective. Don´t worry - its not getting a way too nice review at the end. But it got some good things in the first episode so far. Regarding my childhood - yeah i also was potentially a little too young to be obsessed with all the intricate details tbh - thats what I had Anno for. But I also don´t like it THAT shallow now lol.

@@RudiRennkamel I agree that is much better than 1year ago. its like from 2/10 to 3/10 now. Seriously. Check it by yourselves. AI doesn't exist in this game. If sth happens during game it is because some scripted events/ or spawn of enemy units. and that Silent Release-no reviews, no marketing - less impact on Stock Market. theoretically- more people need to buy the game for themselves. this is just a scam. :/
