Today there are 1.5 million officially registered as unemployed, but there are another 9 million citizens who are not available for the job market. These include people with long-term illnesses, where treatment can be waited up to a year, and people who care for relatives because there are not enough nursing staff.If you subtract 2 million students from the 9 million (see above), the UK has de facto 8.5 million unemployed.- 19 million people live below the poverty line, including 4 million children, and that is in a population of 67 million.

How about this explanation: The British got rich off several factors 1. Cheap labor from Eastern Europe 2. Laundering dirty money from Russia and later other countries 3. Spending by those dirty money billionaires 4. Cheap Chinese consumer goods. 5. Advantage of English speaking. There are a lot more English speakers in the world than French or German speakers. Investment in Britain opened the entire EU market for these English speakers. Then they took prosperity for granted. They began to dislike foreigners like the Poles. They started to acquire morality against Russian money and billionaires. They fantasize that a 50 million people market could do better than a 500 million people market. Brixit did it all. No more cheap labor from Eastern Europe. No more investment from English speaking people from all over the world. Are you surprised that the whole economy crash and burn?

The UK is the world's 4th largest exporter. Trade with the EU has recovered and increased, so yoru reporting is false.

Adjusted for inflation UK trade has fallen. Research by the Centre for European Reform suggests the UK economy is 2.5% smaller than it would have been if Remain had won the referendum. Public finances fell by £26 billion a year. This amounts to £500 million a week and is growing. If things were as you suggest why have our taxes been increased to the highest levels by the Tories and will increase further under Labour? it is to pay for the £200billion annual loss which Brexit has caused to the economy.

@@buszen So all the promises by the Brexit lobby that the U.K. will be better off with lower taxes, higher wages, removal of VAT, more trade, billions extra into the NHS, less bureaucracy etc. etc. from day one were what? You are delusional to keep believing when the evidence is now clear. Brexit will only bring more poverty, misery and hardship.
