I believe the science behind the tank mine drop is: when the tank starts shelling, the toss is supposed to pull the probes away, which stacks them up for the mines.

How come I dont see people use the "STOP" drone, then "Idle Drone" hotkey, to split their drones anymore? Been away for like 5 years until a few months ago. Early on in the game people used to be really good with their drone splits, but recently, even at the pro level I never see the split drone trick. For anyone reading this and who doesnt know. You select all the drones in your mineral line. Then use the stop command. This makes them all "Idle" workers. You can then press the "Idle worker" button once, and click any random location you see, now that drone is moving and not idle, so if you press "Idle worker" Key again, you will select another drone. So the technique is as follows. Select all drones, "Stop" command, "Idle worker" key, click, "Idle worker" key, click, "Idle worker" key, click, "Idle worker" key, click, "Idle worker" key, click, "Idle worker" key, click, Spam the key and click anywhere until the "idle worker" key doesnt do anything or you think your split is good enough. I think people forgot about this and I just remember from a long time ago because hellions used to try and nuke my mineral lines all the time. Really prevents any mass damage since they have to attack each one individually. Plenty of time for lings to run in.
