actually mained it as a primary, almost everywhere - basically splash damage is op and rapid shooting + normal reload makes good deal for me. take a shield and explosive resistant armor and you good to go everywhere, also works perfectly for combat with mates who got your back while you clear big fellas. as well I use machine gun as secondary instead of smth else and you basically got 2 things that can wipe anything alive in front of you. BUT! it takes some time to get used to it and definitely a lot of time to master it, after I’d say 15-20 hours with it you feel hella nice.

It is not easy to deal with things in ur face because the splash dmg may not take them out, and u need to learn to aim at the side of the enemies while going to opposite direction urself. I dont solely rely on it to deal with adds, so I dont run EAT/recoilless with it. Depending on personal playstyle, it can be a great weapon or mid/shadow realm tier

I've tested this as soon as the warbond dropped... And was surprising to put it simply... The best type of the weapon for this game... Surprisingly wonky to use, but does DMG when you need it, which is also surprising by comparison XD (Is a bizarre version of the scorcher haha) I LOVE IT ❤

What you're looking for is a shotgun that shoots slugs. That's what the slugger is for. Sure it would be better that way, but it's supposed to be different.

It's a shotgun in name, but you should really think of it more as a grenade launcher.

I like the base idea of this gun but it's a little underwhelming as is. I'd be happy with just a little flatter trajectory, as it is it's a little wonky hitting things outside of close range.

flatter trajectory and projectile speed.. fires plasma rounds, so the scorcher then. The PP (lol) has bigger splash so i think it balances out, it's clearly designed for close and medium range and grouped up enemies.

Against bugs or robots? Imo just blowing the bugs up with a granade is more efficient than stunning. Against robots however I can see this gun being used more alongside stun-granade

So from what I've gathered from this video, the new shotgun is more like a pump action grenade launcher in your primary slot although it can't deal with bug nest, you can destroy fabricators with it and it's not as strong as the grenade launcher strategem. Compared to the shotgun it's based on, it fires a single arcing explosive, has an 8 round magazine, and reloads fast like a magazine instead of individual shells being loaded Overall, looks like it can be effective against medium armored enemies but you might want to bring a stalwart with you so that way you don't have to rely on your secondary to defend yourself when the enemy gets too close since those explosive projectiles will blow you up as well if you fire too close

It's called a shotgun, but you should really think of it as a grenade launcher and use it accordingly. Its true utility lies in its splash damage capability. It seems to be quite effective at crowd control too.

Seems to be more of a weapon if you want to specialize into killing medium-sized/medium armored enemies. Problem is that a primary is mainly meant to deal with ads. If you don't have a team directly covering you and focusing on the small stuff (90% of cases, even when working together) then it is just not gonna perform. Couple it with being hard to aim and you got yourself a rather mid weapon. It's probably better to just be the guy to bring a support weapon like the AC to deal with medium armored targets like striders rather than bringing this

you could also combo it with crowd control support weapons like the MG, Stalwart, arc thrower, etc. it also is explosive which means it does more damage to squishy bug parts.

The idea with this and things similar to it is you do use it for medium targets or small groups of trash then you either pair it with a support weapon for normal add clear or have a teammate spec into trash clear. Primary in this game just means you spawn with it every time.

I think the stats are misleading because enemies seem to have multiple hitboxes it seems and get hit in multiple area's by Area weapons.

Ignore the "Stats" they are simply approximations based on dozens of hidden stats. Gotta use them to know how they actually are.
