I am about 70% done with book 2 in this trilogy and I am really enjoying the series. This is a very fair review, fairer than I have seen from some other booktubers, who have been rather harsh in their reviews. I really enjoy the way the story is slowly pieced together through the memory flashbacks. Certainly not perfect, but definitely worth picking up.

Oh if you thought the threads came together here, just wait until the end of the trilogy... 🤯 And I'd say the magic gets much better defined in the other two books. Part of the lack of definition kind of seems tied to the tumultuous history that magic has in the world, so as that is uncovered it gets a bit more of an explanation. Never to a Sanderson level, but few get there anyway.

Totally agree! Now that I’ve finished book 2 I’m totally hooked. Can’t wait for book 3. Honestly I think it’s pretty close to Sanderson level.

I'm just less than halfway. I'm enjoying it more that there seems to be a core group on the road and we've just encountered supernatural beings of some sort. Can you believe, I'm an Aussie and this is the 1st Aussie book I've picked up?
