I was going to infer that they're only collected by the light of a full moon but that would be very very silly!!!

That bone nut will definitely make a difference in terms of tone and sustain. Good call.

I like to use bone as much as I can, always gives a good result. Once had an electric 12 string with a brass nut, that one really sang, perhaps I should try that one time??

@@Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams It's worth exploring. If you don't like it, you can always swap it out.

The use of cow bone to make a nut and not a blank is brilliant.. really gives a sense of reality to the build.. more than makes up for the truss rod cover purchase..lol.. can't blame you there.. just too fine a cut there.. could you have used super glue over the lacque to drop fill?..or would there have been adverse reaction?
@Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams

Thanks, could have used superglue but I only have thick stuff at the moment. The nitro hardend up in a couple of days.

Looks great! You ever try super glue for drop filling? I've done both and super glue is definitely quicker to cure.
@Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams
@Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams 2 жыл бұрын
Yep, I've used super glue before and it does cure fast. On this one I knew it would be a few days before I'd be flatting it plus the only super glue I have in at the moment is a bit too thick.

Great info Patrick. Does the bone need to be cooked or bleached before it can be used?
@Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams
@Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams 2 жыл бұрын
I tend to buy bone pre-boiled but I don't bleach it. I'm not sure what's been done to this bone other than it was picked clean by wolves!!
