Been listening to these guys for over 6 months and they are only getting better! Seeing them live and meeting them was amazing! YAY! Go Sheepdogs, you are bringing back the 70's with some killer style! :)

CCR, The Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd etc were southern rock in the 60's...southern rock originated in the 60's, actually the 50's but really didn't "develop" til the 60's. You can check it out if you'd like.

And in truth, all rock should be considered southern rock, since it emerged from the fusion of blues, country, and jazz...all of which came from the southern US.

actually there was a lot of music in the mid to late 60's and sounded a lot like the early to mid 70's.

CCR isn't southern rock. It's blues rock. There's a difference kiddo. I was there. They were a bunch of guys from California who liked the sound of Blues from the deep south. Southern rock had it's origins in the late 60s, but didn't become popular until the 1970s. Regardless, The Sheepdogs are good. My Grandson turned me onto them and it reminds me a lot of a lot of music I grew up with. Now hush and listen to the music.

not really...what have you been listening to? This is pure southern rock. Influenced by stuff from the mid to late 70s. Southern rock as a genre didn't exist in the 60s. And 60s music sounded good...but overall, i think there was vastly more divergent styles of music in the 70s. something for everyone. 60s it was either motown, bubblegum, or psychedelia/acid rock.

Skynyrd wasn't around until 1970. They didn't hit it big until then. CCR was from california, and in truth is more blues-rock than southern rock. I'll give you the band though
