You are one of the few tow vessel operators that I've seen use a 'tow bridle' - great job!
@CaptKenO2 жыл бұрын
I use it when needed. The best part is I can throw it to them and tell them to just put the loops over the cleats. No knot tying involved. On the smaller boats, I prefer to tie off to the tow eye if I can so their cleats stay free for dock lines. If I can't reach it, I'll give them the end and have them pass it through the eye and back to me so I can tie the bowline

@@bigal1863 I'll post one sometime of a local fishing boat I had give me a wake in the same spot. That was the only one I've ever had that while that wake was coming towards me I thought that maybe this wasn't the best idea 🤣

You go to port Charlotte and no further south? I live in bokeelia, when I got membership, port Charlotte was my "home" territory
@CaptKenO2 жыл бұрын
Three Sisters is kind of the southern border for our Englewood boat and our Venice boat covers up to the south Siesta Key Bridge. There's another towboat us location in charlotte harbor, so that's their territory

@@CaptKenO a husband and wife team owns port Charlotte. They were hiring not too long ago. When I finally get there permanently, it looks like an awesome job.

@@CaptKenO Yessir! I am also interested in Deck time, as id like to get my six pack, Id be happy just to be aboard for the experience and hours! Thanks for the reply!!!

There is a towboat location up in Sarasota and cortez (owned by a different company) but they're a lot busier than I am, so if you're looking for deck time I'd try reaching out to them. I'm sure they'd be happy for some extra help

@@islandwanderer1173 I feel ya. Getting that properly documented sea time is the hardest part of the license for most people. I was lucky enough to have worked a few summers in Chicago as a deckhand on some bigger boats, so I was able to get enough sea time for my 100T.
