It seems every legion theme has something like this. Colored Pencils has a kalimba, as in, the wood the pencils are made out of. Rubber Band has a very bouncy theme that almost sounds like the strecthing of rubber bands are sampled, and her speech sfx sound more rubbery compared to the others; it's VERY banjo kazooie ish. Hole punch and stapler have a lot of staccato-y notes, as in, rhe brief clicks of them, especially in stapler's theme. Tape has this, and scissors has its intensity, like a samurai battle.

Because you're gonna get shredded to pieces in one hit, it's terrifying.

While Disco Devil mostly benefits from Hole Punchs character and animation, Shifty Sticker mostly benefits from the location of the boss battle. You fight on the top of a tower, reaching for the sky, in the middle of the edless see, the wind is howling. And what happens is this part: 0:58. I cant wrap my head around how perfectly this works. The location in combination with this song create such an epic atmosphere, its just mindblowing

For me it’s around 1:03 with the slight increase in volume and that particular chord progression on guitars combined with the height of the violins. You’re right, it’s like you’re soaring in the sky. It’s the part I actually noticed while I was fighting the tape dispenser!

The fact its "Super attack" were two sticky drills in a row, an attack that is easy to block, made it very easy. The taped ground were a slight annoyance though (especially in the battle lab where you can not buy extra time)

This is actually a pretty fun boss if I think about it! A fun part was trying to find a path with limited movement, at one part I literally said in my head, “well, if this is the path he’s forcing me to do, I guess I’ll just do it” 😂

Unlike a lot of people apparently, I actually liked the office supply bosses a lot. But they all felt kind of out of place, no not literally in the sense they're realistic personified inanimate objects in a cartoon-style game. Idk, they had no real place in the story except guarding the spool at the end of each chapter. The only ones with an effect on anything before you truly meet them are Hole Punch punching out the sun, and scissors literally murdering everyone. This really shows in the Tape fight. You go traveling out through the sea and going from island to island. You discover the last Vellumental temple, and then make your way to ANOTHER tower. What is this? Like the third one? Anyways, the ancient temple level theming throughout the game gets REALLY old especially once you reach chapter 4. To top it off, the fifth chapter is basically just one big temple, and at this point I'm completely burnt out on this level theme. I got a little off topic, anyways. The Tape, yeah. Tape has absolutely no mention at all until you reach the top of the temple tower, similar to the other bosses. And he barely has any big impact on anything. He did what, tape a couple toads on the side of the temple? He just kinda shows up, gets killed, then you move on. At this point it feels that these bosses have no purpose except for being there to fight and to have funny gags about being an object that can talk. I wish we were able to get to know these bosses better, like imagine if the Tape had a ship and a crew of origami soldiers that you encounter every once and a while for every major story point in the chapter. It would've made the chapter MUCH more interesting instead of the 'go here to get thing' formula they used for the chapter. And then once you actually DO fight him, you know him much better as a character and makes the fight more impactful since you're fighting someone you've gotten to know well. Anywho thanks for reading my dumb midnight rant Goodnight. *TL; DR:* The arts and crafts bosses felt out of place because they have no impact on the chapters' story and could've been fleshed out characters instead of just another boss to kill. Missed opportunity.

I would agree with you. I loved the idea of office supply bosses, but Rubber Band and Tape just didn’t have a setup at all. Colored Pencils shot at the elevator and barraged you when you try to go up, Hole Punch and Scissors you already mentioned. Wish they did more with these 2 rather than just showing up at the end.

Rubber Bands could talk over the PA system as you explore Shogun Studios. I love the idea of Tape having a ship. Even better, make it a pirate ship. Overlook Tower, The Princess Peach and Bowser's Castle are way more interesting than the generic dungeons.

Out of their flaws, that's the biggest one. Many of the LOS are just bosses with neat personalities, not mini-villains in their own right. The lack of designs is merely the cherry on top.
