There is some interesting symbolism at work in Endgame with the Benatar. Due to those redesigned engines, the profile of the Benatar when viewed from above (as in the shot we see of the ship drifting in space) gives it the appearance of a swallow. Swallows are especially symbolic for sailors as many would get a tattoo of one before setting voyage as the symbol of beginning their journey, while getting a second one at the completion of it. Due to this, the appearance of a swallow in flight has come to represent the end of a person's journey, one way or the other. Given Endgame being the culmination of everything in the MCU so far, it is rather fitting that one of the first things we see is the Benatar in profile.

The Milano and the Benetar are absolutely STONKING designs. Some of my favourite movie ships in years. I especially like how they look like they'd be equally comfortable in vacuum and in-atmo. Heck, the Milano even looks like it could land on water, with that destroyer-like lower fuselage.

I think one of my favorite 'little scenes' from Endgame was seeing the Benetar landing at Avengers HQ a few times. Partly just for the great juxtaposition of 'normal' Earth archetecture with crazy alien technology, and also just that we got a proper sense of just how BIG that ship is. Like we normally think of these ships as 'small', but when you see that thing landing next to a 'normal' building or one of the quinjets, its easily as big as a mid-size passenger jet.

I always liked how avian the Milano (and even more so the Bennatar) is in design. The hooked prow and feather-like fins give it a very recognizable silhouette that stands out from almost every other hero ship. Like a majestic space eagle. A speagle if you will.

The name is a little confusing. The asteroid belt he lives in during the first movie is called The Sanctuary, and his ship is called Sanctuary II.

Kirk, Thanos ' flagship was called Sanctuary II in the comics. That's the origin of the name. However, the MCU version is very different in appearance compared to the comics, in which it looks like an H.

I can't say much about Farscape without Massive Spoilers - but there is a similar flip-flopping with who is the lead or in charge in that show that Guardians also has - they have given themselves some wiggle room to put Gamora in charge eventually if they wanted too. I don't want to say what my thinking is as what I'd say would completely spoil Farscape for those who have no seen it yet.

I never realized that the benatar was just a plot device to split the team up. They were smart enough when writing the second film to leave the fate of the milano ambiguous, so that they could have reused it if they had no need for the escape pod of the benatar. They're still beautiful ships, instant icons.

For me the difference between the Milano and the Benatar is akin to the difference between the Batmobiles presented in the 'The Batman' series. The first one is smaller and very capable, has a lot of speed and looks very sleek. The second Batmobile from that series is built to allow for more passengers, which means it isn't as sleek and small as the first, but the feeling of raw, barely contained power it conveys is awesome. It's basically the step up from 'That's cool...' to 'WHOA that's MEAN looking!!'

I do wish they'd kept the theme music the same instead of changing in season three, but that's about all I can really find fault with. Not bad for a 'kids WB' title.

While I can appreciate the extra internal space and additional features like the scout pod, the Milano will always be my favorite of the two designs. The Benetar might be bigger and more practical, like a spacegoing mobile home (and way better than a Winnebago with wings), but the Milano was designed to be an interstellar hot rod.

Ronan's ship from Guardians 1 is called the Dark Aster. It's a Kree warship, though the fighters it deploys might not be Kree design.

From the first Guardians film there were two distinct classes of the ships used by the Ravengers where the Milano appeared to the the lighter class of the two. Rocket flew the other larger one as part of the Ravenger fleet that fought against Ronan that had more guns and a different cockpit. They both also varied in their engine placements in the back.

I LOVE ships within "cozy" ships...like how the Defiant carried one class 10 shuttle...or an escape pod that has long range capabilities.....(Star Trek Enterprise;Precious Cargo episode). There's just something cool with having a medium size space craft with all the luxuries you'd need and want, and having a smaller ship that somehow fits inside perfectly that can also carry you home(or somewhere equally cool).

There was a shot in endgame when the benataur came to a quick stop and it's flaps and rear prongs went all over the place kindof making it look like a dragonfly or sth . That sold me on its look

The Benatar is one of my personal favorite designs! I want my spaceship with that design with a bit of alterations to the engines, rooms, cockpit and exterior colors. I want the cockpit to have a more Hologram Hud Interface and easy aerodynamic flying with one pilot and that's me!

In the first Guardians movie, I misheard Yondu's command of "Submerge!" to the Ravager squadrons as "Sunbirds!" as if it where a cue rather than a command. This gave me the notion that the specific class of ships that the Milano falls into would be called a Sunbird, while the smaller two-seat versions flown by Rocket and Kraglin in that battle would be known as Lightbirds (light Sunbirds).

I think the Benetar is actually just a upgraded rebuilt version of the Milano, which salvages as much as possible from Milano. I mean, Quill might have not wanted to use a new ship, so whilst they were repairing the Milano, they made it bigger and better in order to fit all of the Guardians, and then they renamed it the Benetar.

It is difficult to see, but in Infinity War (and possibly Endgame, though I do not know as I haven't seen it), the Benatar has three distinct holes on each of the wings just below the leading edge. The holes have what appears to be streaks behind them, which is a common marking of guns fired from aircraft as the residue is blown onto the wing behind the barrel exit point. This leads me to believe the Benatar has at least six guns of some variety. On some unofficial renderings as well, on each wing the ship has a cylindrical-shaped object partially buried in the wing itself, with two holes on the front. Upon closer inspection of official images and videos of the Benatar, this seems to match up; perhaps this is a turret of some sort, or a larger-spread weapon like an EMP that would be directed in a general direction? The gun ports I am sure of, the 'turrets' less-so.

Judging specifically from the Dialogue as well as how Rocket is Handled in Infinity War & End Game - I'd say the 2nd one is "His Ship" Peter just think's it's his and Rocket indulges him. Rocket is basically just Baby sitting these misfits. They didn't give Peter any space to move into be taken seriously as a "Leader". His arc is pretty much finished now. - even if they give lipservice to him being star - I only watch these Movies for everyone who isn't Peter.

I was wondering, in the Marvel comics, one of Earth's responses to future alien threats was the formation of SWORD and later, the Alpha Flight Space Program which was led by Captain Marvel (aka. Carol Denvers). One of their signature vehicles are the Alpha Flight Squadron Jets which make up the Alpha Flight Space Program's primary offensive functionality. Said jets are hangared in the mustering deck known as the Alpha Flight Module of the Alpha Flight Low-Orbit Space Station, and they serve as Earth's first line of defence. That made me wonder, if SWORD or the Alpha Flight Space Program would ever be formed in the MCU, what could be used as design inspirations and references to create something like the Alpha Flight Squadron Jets? We have: (1) the Skrull tech upgraded Quadjet from Captain Marvel which survived and was decommissioned; (2) the SHIELD and Avengers Quinjets; and (3) maybe we could also add in the M-class spaceships like the Benatar since it was used by the Avengers in Avengers: Endgame. What does everyone else think of this potential idea for the MCU? How do you think the design might turn out?
