Hi Sawman :) Valheim developer here. We have hired some people since 2021 when we launched in early access. we are 13 people now, hence some things looks alot better now (and we change some older things aswell to look better or work smoother) We aren't gonna stop making our game due to unitys pricing model. We will make the game to 1.0 once Ashlands, Deep nortth and possibly some thing small, medium or larger thing to the ocean. (we will see what we do to ocean once we get there. we might even do it before deep north, or side by side or after. we haven't decided on when atm) Thank you for enjoying our game and all the nice words :) (even being crittical is important and that is taken as feedback as always)

Bronze weapons only require 8 because the actually require 16 copper and 8 tin, so if anything 20 iron is actually easier to collect if you really think about. Silver weapons are expensive but they also come with bonus spirit dmg against the undead, so there is a reason for the additional cost. I don't think the grind actually gets worse as you go.

Grind definitely gets easier. Copper mining is a fuckin SLOG. Getting Iron and Silver is super easy in comparison, sure the enemies are a bit tougher to deal when you first enter the biome but thats about it.
@KekusMagnus
@KekusMagnus Жыл бұрын
Copper is probably the worst grind. Iron is annoying but a well-positioned base and a few poison potions make it a breeze. Similarly, silver is easy once you find a large mountain with a lot of veins. BM is the easiest, farming flax is the annoying part (farming in general is unnecessarily tedious). Soft Tissue isn't hard either if you exclude the general annoyance of being in the mistlands
@Darkkfated

No, the grind really does get worse as you go, since you need more and more and more of each Ore (you need tons of Iron for building and Black Metal for your workstations, on top of new gear) and you're sailing further and further out to get it, and further and further back to smelt it.... or you're making Forges all over damn place, which comes with its own set of challenges.

Valheim is a great game and can be seriously challenging at times. I have over 1500 hours played in it and hundreds of those hours building epic bases. I have done both modded and vanilla gameplay. There's something out there for everyone. Though the game is one hell of a grind it is also very rewarding especially when you take a step back and see all that you have accomplished and gain the vision of what more you want to obtain.

not really, for how absurdly long it takes for you to get an upgrade it barely feels like you've improved at all and the grind gets exponentially worse the farther into the game you go and if you're prone to dying due to the absolute bullshit the game throws at you then you can forget about having a skill above 30, cause for some reason you not only lose more of your skill the higher it is, but it also takes longer and longer to level up said skill

As you said in this video, the world modifiers speed up a lot of the crappy grinding and resource gathering rates that the normal game has. Personally having x3 drops and allowing myself to TP with any item makes the game way faster and better to play. You can finish a lot more a lot quicker by just doing that.

What I think you missed in the video is that while the character model is a bit rough. The weather effects and lighting is amazing. Without good lighting its dark and cold but with lights it gets very cosy and warm and the sunlight shining through branches or parts of your structure can be so good I actually sometimes stop what I am doing and just admire the scenery. And the terrain really looks real. I live in Sweden where the game is developed and if you go out in the woods it really will looks very similar to the game, and with all the rocks, branches and bushes that have collision, fighting in the woods in the beginning is a challenge that you as a player need to learn. Sure there are some bad, but as said, its early access and piece by piece they fix those things.

Twice a year good new content releases that IMHO have been decent (and part of the base game you dont pay for it). Buy once, no aggressive cash shop just a merc shop. Personally I loved everything about the game. Style of graphics, atmosphere, progression is good (grindy for singleplayer though) At the time playing it was a fresh experience, and I went in blind with 3 friends, it was such a good time. What I like about it may not translate over to everyone else. Personally I would find a friend or 2 to play with, and just jump in. Ignore all the haters online. Sometimes others peoples taste can ruin an experience for you. If you have imagination, and can Roleplay a little bit, this game will be very fun for you guys. The only dislike I have is the pacing. It is a grind, however with the new patch options you can customize your game to fix this. so its no longer an issues as of today. A lot of complaints I hear I don't really understand. But I personally think people set the bar way too high in life these days and expect perfection, which ruins the experience for many. The pacing isn't an issue if you are playing with 2-4 others, but alone it isn't the best experience compared to multiplayer. Unless you are the type of person who can create stories and scenarios in your head while playing. For any issues players have with features, there is basically a mod for that, but I would really do a vanilla play through first. Perhaps use the mods that help with item organization, it does save time. Of course there are EA quirks that need to be ironed out, but very rarely have I spend $20 and got this much enjoyment from a small indie title. Its 40% off I believe, buy some copies for your buddies and have a good time! @@juanzulu1318

I agree with most of your points, and to be fair, there is a lot of grinding to be done especially for building materials. But the jump in metal-mining, at least from bronze to iron, gets cheaper overall. One bronze ingot is 3 raw ores, while one iron ingot is just one raw ore scrap. Also farming iron is just a lot more fun. It all changes with silver, but I don't think it's done to extend your time spent playing the game.

Tbh the grind isn't as awful as it was made out to be in this video. I did my first foray into Valheim last month and found the grind to be a manageable as long as you're aware of the best way to find each resource. A solid portal system is a good thing to have, but you can build crafting stations at mini bases outside of the dangerous areas of each biome in order to make your needed items before returning to your home base. I got to the swamp area and have taken a break because the REAL grind is making a home base that doesn't look like a damn minecraft house. Takes real time grinding stone and logs to build the viking home of your dreams. Once they incorporated iron into building structures, i decided a break was necessary to refuel my creative juices in the game.

As of now the Unity pricing model has reverted back to how it was before but of course a lot of trust has been lost. We'll have to wait and see if and how Unity will assure that they won't retroactively change pricing models again but I don't think anything other than a legally binding document will be of much use.

I love valheim, but it's definitely a game that should be modded to fit what you want to get out of it. Valheim+ mod is key. I personally like to up spawn rates of certain items and use tools to make farming a bit easier. Makes the grinds i don't want to do shorter but keeps the fun aspects as they should be. Also, building multiple outposts and bases alongside your main base makes things much easier. Ive got multiple boats and outposts and smelting areas for metal collection grinds.

the "no metals through portals" thing actually does have basis in norse lore. Valhheim is actually kinder about it, in the original stories you couldn't teleport with any metal at all. This is a bit of a buzzkill when you've got all these armor, shields and swords using it in game, and I dont think most people would have stood for the hardcore no-metal-whatsoever approach, so we arrive at the compromise we have now. From the meta perspective, it's because if people can portal everywhere and do everything via portals, no one is going to spend any time sailing and exploring once they have portals that go where they need to go.

I'm still in love with this game. It's not the grinding that really hurts it it is some of the hardcore rules that were set into place from the day it went public like how enemy spawning works. It makes it literally impossible to build anything that you care about at any level outside of the first zone aside from portals and storage points. There could be a much smarter implementation like even if you had to rely on perimeter defenses that worked because it is next to impossible to build around mobs that wreck everything in seconds and spawn all around you at any given moment. I'm not sure exactly how this could be addressed but it would seem to me that most games that are set up on similar models actually work so whatever is broken is probably something very basic and easy to fix like pathing, it would change a lot if the enemy actually prioritized entry points instead of just randomly tearing into your structures. I think it would also help a lot if you could create any form of warding like Minecraft's torches, that would at least keep spawners from appearing within building zones also maybe some method of putting in motes and traps for enemies that wander in. Idk, it has such potential but it seems frozen in time like it started as something that the devs were really passionate about but then it just never really grew from that for some reason.
@Justin_Leone
@Justin_Leone 11 ай бұрын
Workbenches create an area around them that prevents spawning. And if you want outer defenses that can't be broken, use the hoe to raise earth walls (or the pick to dig trenches). This will keep your bases safe from pretty much anything that doesn't fly. Shaping the terrain and placing workbenches makes it quite easy to build reasonably safe structures until you get to Mistlands, and even then my friends and I were able to find a spot that was pretty sheltered by the terrain to set up a base and farm without getting attacked much.

I think the not bringing metals through portals was the biggest legit complaint about the game, and forcing players to carry them on boats when going long distances. (the boat rides can take forever though, try it with no wind and no mods installed). this was before the extra settings were added in the game in 2022 or 2023 (i originally played in 2021 and the extra settings menu just didn't exist yet). so them adding that was a good thing, but at the same time only mods can fix the boat travel...
@Justin_Leone
@Justin_Leone 11 ай бұрын
Having the optional setting is fine, but not being able to bring metals through portals was, imo, the single smartest game design choice they made. It's the entire reason for carefully choosing base locations, and, at least until plains and mistlands, which have biome-dependent crops, the sole reason for needing to build more than one base. If you could teleport with all materials, then there'd be no logistical concerns with resource gathering, and no reason to terraform oft-traveled paths for easier access (as there'd be no need to ever backtrack). You'd just plop portals down every time you had to empty your inventory.

The resource grind isn't as terrible as you'd think. Building multiple bases - especially not far from the edges of the next biome - means traveling isn't as big an issue for resources. Number going up aren't even too terribly exponential for metals - 16 copper + 8 tin for the 8 bronze, more work than 20 iron which is given in sunken crypts in relative bulk. Silver veins are also huge when located, and black metal you get passively from fighting fulings, which you'll do to find totems to summon Yagluth for your progression. Only thing I'll agree on with it is in the mistlands - finding skulls to crack open in all those mist clouds is a paaaiiin.

The two most useful things in this game are outside sources: the wiki and the world map. Both can be easily found on google and both are basically necessary if you don't want to spend 80% of your playthrough looking for swamps with more than one crypt in them or accidentally stepping near a plains biome and getting run down and slaughtered by little gremlins that are half your size.

in regards to the "double the cost as you upgrade" comment: bronze costs 3 ore, so even if its 8 bronze, you still have to mine and smelt 24 ore into bars then into bronze. iron comes in absolute abundance, 1 crypt can be several stacks of iron, not to mention the massive ammount of treasure items in crypts that are needed now more than ever. the silver sword is THE strongest pre-yagluth weapon, specifically for killing yagluth, and also has spirit damage which debuffs enemies accordingly. 40 silver is a bargain.
@fortnitesexman
@fortnitesexman 10 ай бұрын
bronze is significantly easier and faster to get than iron and the simple solution is to nerf the silver sword and make it cheaper the way the game should've been done is to either flesh out the biomes MUCH more than they are right now, or have more biomes wirh much more steps in progression instead of going wood > bronze > iron > silver > done it's like minecraft but stretched across dozens of hours

Before I watch the video... i tell you what i did. I quit this game .. i think now it's 9 months ago... and despite i was first hooked ... now i dont even think about this game . Reason is simple: *Once you understand the game loop then this game becomes extremely boring* and the game gets defended by literally AUTISTIC people who love to waste their time BUILDING all day . I saw the same people in Fallout 4 . People who created awesome looking buildings and cities in a game where there is nothing really to do. And you have to think, what kind of person does that, spending all day doing that? A lonely and probably autistic person. *Back to Valheim:* Valheim game loop is actually simple , itsa constant gearing up with the higher level up tier items ... the problem is , if you die , then you literally have to start from zero if you don't have back up items . Some consider this DIFFICULTY, i consider this WASTING TIME AND NOT FUN: We see this same phenomenon in world of warcraft *some people take PRIDE overcoming in game mechanics that are clearly out there to simply waste time.* Sorry that is not skill, that is RAW stupidity and autism. Everybody can overcome those difficulties ... you simply have to waste your life away. The problem is not that those mechanics are in the game but that the GAME has no way to increase the quality of life. Meaning that making those tedious chores obsolete later in the game with some upgrade options or unlock options. *EXAMPLE:* i am fine that first you can't teleport ore through portals, but the game should have in game unlockable upgrade that lets you later teleport ore. Instead, we need to use mods or relm tricks . thats just lazy designs and any one who defends the simply defends TIME WASTING MECHANISMs that don't have to be ina game . Again the game should have a UPGRADE option so that leter you can teleport ore using portals. *ANOTHER PROBLEM:* You literally have to discover all the map by going to a location.. you can simply waste time by sailing to somewhere only to discover it's a pointless island where there is no BOSS or anything useful. Again A TIME WASTING mechanism, that should have a quality of life upgrade options. Let's say later in the game you unlock some option to simply discover the map by sending out CROWs ( or what ever ) from your base into a certain location. This option should be on cooldown. Example you can use this after every 30 min . That way you don't have to sail randomly around to discover the map you can use this mechanism that you unlock later in the game . I can understand you have to do it in the beginning, but like i said later the game should have options to make those time consuming activities take less time and not feel so tedious. Valheim has non of that. EVen building is poorly designed and the community simply makes it better with MODs. Any game that needs the COMMUNITy to create MODs for to make it better is by definition not a good game. Stop defending it. ___________________________________________________________________ .....ohh by the way i have not even keeping up but i bet that the developers have not even fixed the SLOPE fighting. The games combat is poorly designed especially when you fight on SLOPEs. And last point ... again at certain time the game should have some sort of upgrade or quality of life improvement option that when you die, you dont have to go back to your corpse to get all the items.... Let's say you can activate some kind of spell, that is active for 3 h and when you die with this effect , then you don't need to go to your body, you wake up in your bed and the whole death is written off as a bad dream that the player had a vision that lets you change the future by not dying again . And this elixir or spell you can use 1 time every 5 days or so . ...something like that . Also, there needs an option for auto farming.. maybe having helpers that you can send to farm for ore etc.. again stuff that first you need to do it yourself, but later you can have OPTION to set the farming on auto. *Instead the game has non of my good advices to make the game better and not so boring and tedious to play* .. it's simply pointless TIME WASTING mechanics.... that only appeals to autistic people and people who think that bad and time wasting game design is actually difficulty. _________________________________________________________ My god take my ideas to improve the game.. i give them for free... just make the game better f lazy dumb developers.

I've got a few hundred hours in Valheim, having played a few times after most of the major content updates. I will say the very core of the game is pretty solid. I do enjoy the combat, the building, and the seafaring. Unfortunate the biggest issue I have with the game is the content itself. While I have a few hundred hours, that is playtime spread out over several years. Everytime I play its for a few dozen hours at a time and then the game is more or less... 'completed'. With each content update this improves a bit as a new biome and new tier means a whole new addition. But in a gameplay loop sense, this is an incredibly little amount of time played. But this can be quite common in the survival genre but some games have been able to mitigate this better than others. Valheim unfortunately doesn't do this. The other issue is while Valheim has one of the best building systems of any Survival game on the market. You're limited to one style of wood and stone each, and two variations of roofs. This is a game that would benefit heavily from new building styles. That alone would catapult the popularity of the game IMO by a great amount. Decorations seems to pretty decent IMO, but I know some that would have a complaint here as well. But these issues if addressed would result for me playing it for not just a few hundred hours, but several thousand. With that said, I do recommend Valheim to those looking to get their viking on. Even with some of the limitations given above, its still very much worth the pricepoint, especially compared to most so called 'AAA' titles.

I think it's a monetization issue. They should at least do the path of exile supporter pack strategy. When releasing an update -> give people an opportunity to pay 30 or 60 or 90 or 250 or 500 or 1000 for the game. The 500 or 1000 payers get a mug and shirt. Someone is going to drop 1000 on it for basically nothing, there's millions of millionaires out there who are looking for avenues to spend on their favorite games. Hell there's people spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on mobile games. Part of the money raising can be tied to reaching community goals to fund the next goals. Make a little indicator like if they sell 2 million they can hire two additional programmers at market rate for like 12 years. Or 12 programmers for 2 years. The supporter packs should probably affect up to 4 people, meaning you buy one for your friends. The features could be early access, and perks during early access. There might be some cosmetic knick knacks you could probably do but that'd probably suck. It could be a suite of quite silly transformations of the game to be fair, people aren't really buying to get all the value when they buy a supporter pack. It could be a pyjama transformation that gives you special pillow attacks or something. And you can share it with 2 friends on the base tier or up to 12 on the 90. If you don't have more friends to share it with you can turn it into premium currency which can be used to buy the next pack up to 50% cheaper and the premium currency can maybe be used to hire a server with like always online function or so, or make large servers for thousands of people. Or they can come up with a service that would require money to continue development. Like they can use the premium currency to post a feature request and if enough people put their premium currency behind it like maybe worth 5000 dollars they can spend 200 dev hours on that feature. Kinda what ggg did with unique items during early development I guess. You might convince some devs to work at below market rate because valheim is a great game, but I guess the calculation still has to add up for money/hours

There is no problem, it's a mind-trick. There are three types of people in general. 1. I like my home and want to do everything here 2. I process ore where I get it in a sensible place in one biome after another 3. I build everything I need out there and move everything once finished and do several biomes at once Most people seem to complain when they are type 1. I am type 3. For example, when I have frost potion I am up a mountain looking for silver ore before I have killed Bonemass. Why? Because you can easily find it sticking out of the side of mountains. This last time around I found four veins all within a 200 metre circle, all sticking out of the mountainside. While looking for and mining them, I killed lots of drakes so that I can make frost arrows to kill Bonemass much easier. It's the same with Moder, needle arrows really take her down in no time ! I build my forges at the join of two or three biomes, chop a "moat" approx 150m x 150m and put my forge/smelter/charcoal oven/blast furnace there. Then everything I need will be in range. 20 copper and a couple of tin from some Black Forest nearby for a lvl3 forge, everything else (smelter, charcoal oven, flint etc.) can be taken through the portals/gates ... once I had processed all the silver, iron and copper I made my new armour set there and took them all to level 2 or 3. Now everything can go through the portals and once ready, I can spend an hour sailing all the excess metals to the plains forge and take some black metal back to base with some of the metals from the Mountain Forge for Black Metal chests etc. That is built where plains, Black Forest and Mountains all meet, so I can get just about anything from around me very easily. If you think about it, when you are in the Meadows, you went in the Black Forest before you killed Eikthyr ... so why not go in the Swamp before you kill The Elder? I mean sure, it only needs Fire Arrows to defeat The Elder, but with Turnip Stew it's a lot easier ! Same as the mountain, if you can find one that has a steep side you might also find some scrap piles sticking out of the side of the cliff ;¬) For the type 1. person, yes, it's horrible. All you needed to do was to change your mindset. Process it all out there, take some stuff back to base, enjoy the sail and collecting serpent meat. You can still build a lovely home, just make sure everything is 10 metres from your big moat or on a nicely raised smooth sided terrace made of earth. Those giant smurfs with their twatty sticks can destroy anything near to the edge :¬)

Played on release. Awesome game, even though I'm not a connoisseur of the genre. Two things that pissed me off about this game were how much metal you had to mine and the fact that you can't teleport it. It could take 20 hours of game time to make one piece of armor, assuming you don't die. And the second thing is that when you die, your character loses skill points and you basically can't evolve him. But, as I see it, now these things can be removed in the game settings and that is something to be happy about. If they also made it possible for different players to enter the same world regardless of whether the host is online, it would be а 10/10 game.

Modded Valheim is Amazing. My friends and I play on a dedicated server one of us setup that runs 24/7. There are thousands of mods available that keep this game fresh.

I just think food shouldn’t decay in strength just because it’s timer is running out. It’s so stupid how useless food feels when there is still 5-10 minutes left and it’s potency has been gutted. So instead of the food lasting for 25 minutes, IT ACTUALLY only lasts for 15, and by the time you’re all geared up, you’ve spent a quarter of your time just going somewhere, and when you actually have a fight, the food is damn near empty. It’s a great mechanic, but maybe add a cooking skill that makes food last longer.

Sailing is actually one of my favourite parts of the game. It's terrifying when you're a noob sailing back from the swamp with a ship full of iron. Allowing you to portal metals would have been so lame.

Valheim can be grindy, but a lot of the game is coming up with logistical strategies to replace that grind with more interesting activities. For instance, it may not be strictly faster to build a base in each biome. The bases themselves require resources that must be gathered, and take time to build, but they greatly reduce the tedium of traveling back and forth with materials that can't go through portals. And finding the perfect spot for a base, with close access to a variety of resources, requires spending extra time exploring, but also saves time ferrying stuff back and forth. Thankfully, while some of the gear requires quite an investment in resources, the resource requirements for structures are pretty low. All in all, as far as survival crafting type games go, Valheim does a good job of encouraging and enabling the player to shift more of their time into creative activities rather than tedious ones.

it's just like the cart, either you carry like a stack back home at a time, or you spend a fuck ton of time building a path and pulling the dinky ass cart across it why should i have to spend so much time and resources making several bases just because the game designers had a fucking stroke and thought making metals impossible to teleport was a good idea?? at that point i'd barely even be saving time at all to begin with

Imo, Valheim is great, and by FAR my most favourite game ever that combined everything I loved about other games. - It’s beautiful, atmospheric, has weather that feels both dramatic and cosy. - It’s open world sandbox. I can build and make amazing bases and landscapes with excellent build mechanics. Never had more fun in my life with that. - Unlocking both tools and building pieces behind progression perfectly incentivises exploration that feel just about challanging enough. - GREAT SAILING. I always dreamed about being both able to build and sail in one game, where oceans felt both vast and alive. My dream came true with valheim. I love storms at sea. Sailing in the mist at night with my friend, a new monster emerging from the forrest, disovering new weapons, killing a boss together - best gaming experiences ever that have had me excited, scared, inspired. Only complaint I ever had was that the game was at times too punishing if you died, and that it can be a grind to get enough metal, stone and wood. It was demotivating at times. But guess what - that was ALL fixed with the new update where you customize saves. The only thing I wish for now is MORE. More biomes, build pieces, mobs, dungeons. And that is coming, too. No game can «have it all», but Valheim comes close. I’ll periodically get bored when gaming, but I always come back to them, especially Valheim. Even if the stop updating it forever, it hasn’t therefor «died».

Nice review. But, you should try playing the game. The grind you didn't try is not really happening in practice. The fact you can't go through portals with minerals is to force you to use ships and carts so that you experience the world.

The game is highly moddable. And it runs well, even with 150 mods installed. Find the handful of changes you'd want to make and there are likely up to date mods for that to choose from. The mod community is active, daily, still. I play on nightmare level of the game with 2-9 star mobs all with special abilities. I kill a few hundred creatures just to get to my boat. LOL

Best way to play Valhiem is the crank up the difficulty, and increase the resource drops to max (I think its x3). Makes the game more fun where it counts, and eliminates the wasteful grind of mining ores, hunting, and farming. It feels good to make a quick base or shelter, without having to cut down half a forest. Wish Irongate looked at what their community was doing with mods, and implemented some of those things. The game needs 'points of interest' that spawn with premade structures, random mini-boss enemies that are a bit tougher, and drop loot. They need to refresh the progression system too, so it isn't so linear. Early weapons should have late game applications, or stats, like make the hunting bow the longest range, the fastest (the speed of the actual arrow) and the quietest (which i think it already is). Allow for late game customization of weapons, shards you can imbue with elemantal stats to weapons, or unique ones you can find with random stats (faster swing rate, higher chance of crit hits, etc) like the many aRPG games out their that have shown creates a fun grind for loot. They don't have to turn it into Diablo, but you can borrow game mechanics from fun established games and introduce them in a simpler, "valheim" way. The way the game is now, progression of what you craft is so linear, with only the very late game introducing some classes and specialization, but by then, you're legit done the game. They spent all that time introducing a new merchant, who's rewards are legit a whole bunch of useless clothing. I did all her little mini quests and was rewarded with nothing, just badly designed clothing that looks terrible, does nothing, and makes you feel like you wasted your time (apparently they'll make it so it helps you farm, meh). Then you see custom armour mods like "Steel Works" which introduces way more content the base game even has, and its made by fans, for free. Their are mods that add new bosses, and mods, and mini bosses, and others that introduce leveled gear / loot that you can find. Irongate feels like they are taking the Bethesda route, they made a great foundation, and got lazy from all the early sales, and don't realize the goldmine they have in the games foundation. Ashlands needs to introduce a lot more to the game, otherwise, it feels like they're just in maintenance mode.

To me Valheim doesn't feel like a grind at all, I'm somewhat confused by so many people mentioning it. A while back I unlocked a Shadowbringers relic weapon in FFXIV - THAT was a grind and not fun at all. I quit the game after I got it. Cutting trees, gathering ingredients and mining ore in Valheim is just a welcome change of pace and something chill to do in the meantime when I don't feel like fighting or exploring. I guess if I imagine that all I wanted to do in Valheim was to get to the end and fight all bosses ASAP it would feel like a slog, but where's the fun in that? It's not an action RPG. I'm glad I'm not that kind of player. I love this game. Edit: You can change world modifiers at any time, not only before creating a save, I don't understand your criticism there whatsoever. What more could the devs possibly do?

Unity doesn't change anything about Valheim, since Valheim runs an older version of the engine that isn't subject to the changes. In fact, any game that was released before 2024 will not have to abide those specific rules.

This isn't necessarily true. If you upgrade your unity version, the new terms apply. So it doesn't matter when a game is released. If the developer releases a new build using a newer version of Unity, it applies.

@shartdiffractor2582 True, but had to correct the last statement you made, since it's really about versioning not release date. I highly doubt Valheim will ever be updated with a newer version of Unity, but it's still in early access so you never know I guess.

Loved Valheim.. except the Mistlands. Sure it the mist makes it harder, but it's also annoying and frustrating. I was always scared going into the plains but still enjoyed it.. didn't enjoy the mistlands. Not a fan of Mods that let you fast travel with resources as I enjoyed the planning of such missions and it was satisfying sailing home with a boat full of Iron after a long resource trip away etc.
