Koch kingdom fell off after just few years of their conquest and Ahoms reclaimed their territory. I am an Ahom and it's good that our Koches brothers are getting representation, even our Buranjis recorded a lot about Koches it without any bias, that helps modern Koches to reconstruct their history. if you use such uncivil words then it may promote enimity between these two communities in this era. Nonetheless, there are lots of Koch descendants who came as refugee during Mughal invasion and they were given place to live here and became a part of us. There is statue of chilarai in Ahom heartland which our Ahom community also unveiled. It's because despite some part of our history, we never held grudge against each other and in times even helped those who were once our enemies and see them as a part of our history. Now Koches of Koch hajo and upper Assam are Assamese just as Ahoms.

Later after ahoms defeated Mughals in the first battle of samdhara, established the brother of defeated Koch hajo king as the king of darrang where they continued to rule for more 200+ years.

And that again became the reason for the Moamoria rebellion where I heard almost half of the Ahom population was killed and till the later invasions by the Burmese, almost 1/3 of indegenous Assamese population was killed.

@@youtubersdub4339 But in Northeast we did. The Vaishnavites were pure vegetarians and there was no caste in Vaishnavism. So to escape the paik system, thousands of Ahoms converted to Vaishnavism from Shaivism and Shaktism (these were like different religions instead of under the banner of Hinduism, for each their god was the greatest but one difference in Assamese Vaishnavism is it prohibits idol worship like Islam and also it says there is one God, Vishnu who is worshipped by all). After so many left the Ahom religion of Shaivism and Shaktism, labours for the paik system decreased and there were now less workers in army, construction works and the kingdom was going downward. So the queen Phuleshwari ordered harsh actions against Vaishnavites such as harrassing their priests, attacking community halls called Naamghars and also forcefully bringing them into Animal Sacrifices under name of the Mother Goddess. This lead to a rebellion against Ahoms by present day Motok community and more than half of the Ahom population was killed and overall 1/3 of Assam's indegenous population died. Ahom kingdom got weak and soon the Burmese invaded it.

@@youtubersdub4339 It's about Neo Vaishnavism in Assam duh. Don't teach me, I'm myself Assamese. Today I am also kind of Vaishnav but also worship Durga and Shiva and celebrate our folk festivals. But before there was suspicion in discrimination in our society. So Neo Vaishnavism or Eksharana Naamdharma says that there is no god except Vishnu and idol worship is prohibited as it limits the powers of Vishnu. I already said that Vaishnavism created by his holiness Guru Srimanta Sankardev is completely different from rest of Indian Vaishnavism. But today we celebrate all festivals as we are counted as Hindus, no Vaishnav, no Shaktist or Shaivist, only Hindus.

The major few points under Majuli treaty are:- The Ahom king would accept Koch overlordship. The land on the North bank of the Brahmaputra to the west of Subansiri riverwere to be ceded to the Koch Five sons of Ahom nobles were to be handed over as hostage. Hand over the elephant Khamring and the horse Paksirai The Ahoms were to pay a war indemnity-60 elephants, 60 pieces of clothes, 60 maidens, 300 men, a red royal standard along with gold and silver.

No nation remains enslaved forever-India, too, was once colonized but later gained independence. However, such treaties highlight the glory of the time they were signed. Time always changes; today may be good, tomorrow may not. But that doesn’t mean we should forget the great things that happened during those good times. This treaty remains a significant part of Koch history.

During British time...there were only three districts in lower Assam..Goalpara(kokrajhar,chirang,Dhubri,bongaigaon, today Goalpara), Kamrup(baksa,barpeta,nalbari,kamrup), Darrang(udalguri,darrang,sonitpur,nagaon,marigaon). The boro living in Undivided Goalpara, west bengal, Nepal were known as Mech/Meche by others and Boro living in Undivided Kamrup and undivided Darrang to upper assam were known as Kachari by others. Because of that some boro used to identify boro or some use to identify mech or some use to identify kachari. Mech of undivided Goalpara means Boro of kokrajhar not today Goalpara. You can see location of mech in old map of Assam during British time which is in kokrajhar, north bengal,Nepal only. But Boro is our tribe name ...kachari and mech these are others given name. Dimasa are not kachari but given kachari name in barrak valley in 17th or 18th century. Before ahom, sankardev there were no sarania,Sonowal, thengal kacharis. Hence it proved that boro were called kachari. Its historian who make kachari a group of tribes. Becz many tribes separate from boro. Britisher named Sidney endle have written about the book "The Kachari" in 1884. He mentioned about kachari title, kachari religion, kachari language, kachari poem, kachari folklores. All these are boro traditions only. You can read it in google pdf. Kachari titles are boro title, kachari language are boro language, kachari religion is bathow religion, sijwo,etc., kachari poems are boro poem only. Becz boro are called kachari by Assamese. There is kachari poem" kachari theory of lighting and thunderstorms" these are purely boro poem. Hence it proved that boro are called kachari in Eastern side. The writer have mentioned about mech of undivided Goalpara which he wrote that mech of Goalpara have also same title as kachari and religion is also same which is bathow with siju/sijwo.
