always cool to see updates and your design making it into the wider world! see if you can get sponsored by Wazer, so you can add a water jet to your workshop!

I would absolutely love that! So I'm actually waiting on fed ex rn to drop off my new 200w fiber laser. Sadly, I had to spend my own real money on it. Of course I know how it'll go now. Now that I've bought one I'm bound to be inundated with offers with fiber laser companies.

Cool stuff! I see where having one less finger would be not quite ideal, but if you can make the mechanics work without much trouble I think 4 fingers instead of 5 will be fine. Even 3 fingers would be OK, that's all you need to pick something up securely. I'd bet most people won't even notice there's a finger missing since they'll be distracted by the steampunk hand

I was thinking it might not matter at all at this stage. Sure, the endgame dream is a fully featured hand that fits in perfectly with a world designed for 5 fingers (keyboard typing etc.), but that's far away, and 4 vs 5 might not matter at the current development stage. As you said, now is more about grabbing and holding.

I also have a T1pro, and I'm lucky to have the same machine as you.

The check socket portion... Could one be designed that would ADD back the "missing" area that would accommodate the pinky? Like, a beefed up outer (pinky) portion that would wrap over the end of the hand and therefore be load bearing on the outer portion of the hand. In my less than knowledgeable head, that seems (in theory) like a less-involved way to possibly keep the mechanism as 4 fingers and reduce reengineering efforts, etc.
