I'm a figure skater, and this year ten months have been spent in recovery, still in recovery, definitely not how I imagined this year to be. The hardest part is thinking how much progress I could've made, and how far my peers have surpassed me and how behind I am now. The mental aspect of an injury is harder than the physical ❤
@HannahMartinRGАй бұрын
So so true. Im sending you so much strength right now. Injuries are definitely more challenging mentally above anything. Keep taking care of yourself and putting one foot in front of the other. You will be back where you wanted to be in less time then you think!

Would love to hear you talk about how the company management deals with their dancers who are injured. Do they pay for your rehab? Do injured dancers still get paid? Is the company supportive? I’m intrigued!

I'm so sorry to hear about your injury, and that Regan is leaving! Since you say that it is good for Regan to go back to Texas, that is reassuring. If it were for a sad reason, that would be way worse. It's very difficult to say goodbye to a friend you are used to seeing every day, but you can still keep in touch! The montage of your friendship at the end of the video is so beautiful! 🥰 You are very correct that the mental aspect of having an injury is more difficult to deal with. Would it help to reread/rewatch what you wrote and said when you were dealing with your previous injury, surgery and recovery? Remember that you can choose how you want to react to what is happening. Viewed as a challenge, one's mindset is more positive, or at least, grimly determined to persevere. Viewed as an unfair burden, it all seems overwhelming and even hopeless. Try to think of some enjoyable plans to occupy your unexpectedly free time. Everybody's day needs a structure and you can create a new one right now! You could start a new hobby, or catch up on reading books that you haven't had time for. Making little goals that you can achieve every day helps to keep you focused on the here and now. Actively look for something funny or cute every day. Baby animal videos are a good place to start! Maintaining your sense of humor is very important! You probably used visualization when you were competing in RG. You could also do that with all the ballet choreography that you remember. Although your body can't dance right now, your mind can still dance! I do this myself with soccer. First, I think of my team's home field, remember with all my senses the sights, sounds, feel of the grass, my uniform, my double-knotted shoelaces, seeing my teammates, etc. Then I put myself into that scenario/memory, which is the closest thing to reliving it as I can manage. Since I am fortunate enough to have accumulated many enjoyable memories, I like to draw strength from them. You have such a strong character and positive attitude to life that I have no doubt you will take these lemons and turn them into deliciously refreshing lemonade! 🍋➡️🍹😄 Wishing you and Regan all the best!! Maybe you can visit her next summer! 🙏😄🧡💛💜

Thank you so much for your insights. They are always so helpful and thought provoking. I am definitely going to try and see this as a positive, despite how negative it may seem. Having some time to spend with my family is so rare, so I am trying to enjoy it to the full and also edit videos at a bit of a faster rate and put more love into them as I never usually have the energy too. Love reading a bit more as well which Ive just not had time to do before!
@dronesclubhighjinksАй бұрын
@@HannahMartinRG you are very welcome! You are doing so well!! I believe it is easier for humans to become sad and stay sad/hopeless than otherwise. Staying positive requires sustained effort - especially when one has too much time on one’s hands! I am extremely motivated because I have experienced depression, and I never want to go back there! I think all of this would be considerably more difficult for me if I had not had that depressive experience. In a way, it actually helped me to discover how much inner strength I have. Also, it gives me the life experience necessary to help other people, which I hope helps them and also allows me to feel like I am contributing to society, although I cannot work. Prioritize positivity! Having the healthiest, strongest body on earth is not much use if one has poor mental health. I have learned to surround myself with beautiful, funny or cute things which are a constant reminder that “there is good in the world and that it’s worth fighting for.“ This includes putting pictures, posters, handwritten sticky notes, personal artwork, awards, souvenirs, etc in my room, on the fridge, around my computer monitor, etc. Other examples: I created KZbin playlists of: 1. Videos that make me laugh 2. Favorite music videos 3. Favorite cute videos. 4. Favorite floor routines, which includes rhythmic gymnastics, as well as artistic. 5. Favorite inspirational videos Happy music playlist! This includes songs that activate a feeling of "happy". Although I put them all onto the same playlist, for my own reference, I subdivide these into euphoric, high energy, contentment, funny, etc. This is different from "I love this song!" I love many songs, but maybe 1 in 50 really hits that happy target. I exclude songs that are "happy" if they also evoke nostalgia. I have no idea why, with 2 "happy" songs from the same period of my life, one triggers nostalgia and the other one doesn't. I mix all genres together including classical, hip-hop, 1980s, spiritual, EDM, etc. I prefer this because if I only listen to one genre, my mind becomes used to that type of "happy" in approx 10 minutes, which then makes it less effective. I also include absolutely anything happy, even if it's something I wouldn't want to admit to my friends, like the theme song from "Fraggle rock"! 😂 Examples of my fave Ballet KZbin videos: "Composition" by Vaganova Academy 3:41 from the channel "stretch ribbon." Swan Lake: Dance of the Swans (Act II) 2:00 from the channel "Pathé Live" (Bolshoi Ballet in cinema 21/22 season) Ivan Odintsov "Mercutio variation" 2:18 from the channel "stretch ribbon." Nutcracker Russian dance "Trepak" 1:47 from the channel "Boston ballet" Maria Koshkaryova (age 16) Tambourine Variation (Vaganova Academy). 2:22 from the channel "stretch ribbon." Contemporary Tiler Peck - first ballerina performance on Ellen 0:55 From the channel "amazing danc3rs" Paloma Livellara Vidart Prix de Lausanne 2024, Contemporary Music: "You turn me on, I'm a radio" by Joni Mitchell Choreo: Christopher Wheeldon Wishing you all the best in your recovery! I have watched your surgery video and now I’m going to leave a comment on that as well! 🙏😍💐💪🧠🩰💜✨

So sorry to hear about Reagan going back home. You girls were/are like sisters; I could tell through the vlogs you post that she is closer than a bestie 😢😢😢. But it’s all in His time and will. You both will still be close, just not physically close. You need a hug. If I was there I would give an ear to the business and troubles ❤❤❤, and tell you it will be all ok. Life gives us changes and challenges, it is our duty to not give up or give in, … but to hold fast, look up, hold our head high, and meet those difficulties and differences with our faith intact and belief of a better day coming. You got this. Prayers and ❤love from Iowa, USA.

I am an adult hobbyist and have been dealing with long term knee and ankle injuries for years, would be great to see how you manage it. What a beautiful and amazing dancer. I hope you take all the time you need to heal properly. There is nothing worse than returning prematurely and doing permanent damage to your body as hard as it is physically and mentally to step away when you absolutely love it. I know from personal experience as I’m an amateur ballroom dancer myself and I’m 43

Best of luck to Reagan whatever she decides to do in the future. The only thing that is permanent in life is change. Sometimes it's scary but it's also exciting. When I started college in the US, I had never lived here before even thought I am an American. I grew up in Tokyo. Exciting, challenging and scary, but I learned so much and made wonderful friends. You will be just fine. Keep the faith. You have your family.

Ballet is the most graceful, elegant art/sport ! But the dancers are not truely appreciated and are unimaginably under compensated for the sacrifice they make. ! Instead of all of the wasteful governmental projects ! Maybe our government should give some funding to the art of ballet. If we want this to last. Major sport teams make more than enough money to support their needs. Ballet is more of an art !
