It's such a great way to eliminate the left. Since I more or less do this I can aim left and fairways are twice as wide as the miss will almost always be a push. Not sure how it stopt the hook but I don't see those anymore either. I've always struggeled with my back, and that's another great thing about this move, turning without the crazy lower back torque that used the be the standard.

back in the eighties and nineties they used to teach that at the top of the backswing to drop your hands, feel like they are dropping behind you before the swing. this is just the same thing described differently. personally, I have found great success and improvement after adopting the single plane method. It gets golf out of your head and you have fun playing because you can hit the ball consistently well.
@CraigHansonGolf
@CraigHansonGolf Жыл бұрын
So dropping your hands behind you is the same as steepening your shoulder plane, and moving your head down and out towards the ball in the downswing? … mmmmm how on earth are they same? I like the one plane swing it’s easier for most people.

Interesting that this popped up in my feed today. I’ve been having some L4/L5 problems flaring up the last month (old weightlifting injury) and it was causing me to rotate too flat, “run out of right arm,” get flippy, and hit severe shut faced pull hooks. Started thinking about driving my right shoulder down more, as a past feel I’ve worked on of “driving my right shoulder under and past my chin,” and not stalling has always produced great results, as it keeps my right forearm in line with the shaft at impact (“planing the shaft”), and I 😢instantly started hitting it straighter with more power. I’m 58 now, so can’t get the shoulders nearly as steep as some of these young guys (I’ve seen some are virtually vertical!). Will keep working on this.

@@johncappella1216 I popped a disk at 41, doing 18 plates (45’s) on the leg press sled. Could barely walk 2 weeks later. Was never properly diagnosed. Now, at 58, I’m only pressing 8 plates, but at least I’m now pain free for the last 5 weeks. Lifting is different now. Injury avoidance has to be #1 priority.

Getting the appropriate head tilt and turn, and extending the left side , shortening the right side, sometimes we end up tilting back. This can lead to a chunk and hitting behind the ball. I have seen your videos on the forward movement which can help. Is there some thought process or movement that can consistently get you combining these 2 swing thoughts? Thank you for your thoroughness in helping the really motivated players improve.
@CraigHansonGolf

there is no real thought process to help you get both movements happening perfectly at the same time. Unfortunately that’s how difficult the game is, and we just have to separate these in practice.

Mac Ogrady stresses that move . Always wondered about the straightening of the right leg thru impact. Rory was the first time I have seen it, but really noticeable with Brooks and Rahm I think this tilt may be the link that causes that move. Byron Nelson is shaking his head.

People that understand that the right hand, the right wrist and the right shoulder external rotation all move in a clockwise direction from the top (right palm turns up to the sky), behind you and then under you will get most of the other things for free. Shallowing - free. elbow leading - free. shaft lean - free. More of a Ferris wheel than a merry-go-round. I'm not sure why you don't talk about that. Moe Norman knew it and showed us in his Master Move. That clockwise start is the beginning to what a pro does every single swing.
@CraigHansonGolf
@CraigHansonGolf Жыл бұрын
I’ve done that in lots of videos A lot of advanced players come way to far under plane I’ve done complete series on this Rick. I can’t do two videos a week on how to come from the inside and shallow the plane. What about golfers that don’t have your problem? What about the Steeping of the shoulders on the way down and through? This also helps shallow the plane and stops club from tipping over I just did recently a move with a dartboard feel. And the club sliding down the wall. I did a video last year. I have a shadow, the shaft of the shoulders working backwards. I also have to release information for all Golftours, not just for people that need to shallow the plane.

Sorry I do have a golf question for you. I play off 6 so I am fairly consistant. I have been following your method in trying to get a good shoulder tilt at impact. I am compressing the ball alot better with the irons but I tend to push the Driver more than usual. Does that mean i am not finishing the turn, simply stalling at impact?
@CraigHansonGolf
@CraigHansonGolf Жыл бұрын
no it just means the face is slightly open at impact. What you can do what nearly every single professional does unconsciously is they grip slightly stronger with the driver. So just turn your left hand in a little. Drop the right hand even just under a smidge. Just with the driver👍

@@CraigHansonGolf Every magazine, literally, and every announcer on tv talks about how the golfer is shifting their weight back and forth. It's the complete opposite. You can tell that they're keeping that weight forward. It's just something I noticed, if I'm wrong, feel free to tell me. But with RAHM it's same thing, weight forward in beginning, short AROUND swing. It's just frustrating seeing the title "new swing on tour" when it's been around forever. Even during Hogans tenure. Stack and Tilt is just thrown around word that gets people ancy. When its really just keeping the weight forward in the golf swing and not shifting. All shifting does is move your contact point. Again, I might be wrong or off in some of this, but it's what I see and what has worked time and time again for consistency via my own swing. Discussion is what helps, and I'm sorry if I came off as intrusive or argumentative, but that was not my intention. More so my frustration with the title. Which is more of a personal problem.
