Love your channel! I'm a seasoned player for like 30 years and you explain things so well. I would always compare the positions and link them like you mentioned. "Looks like a C major but we are in A minor..." One of my most influential teacher's said that when you get to a certain level, you'll have an epiphany. You memorize the modes and patterns and then you throw them away as you memorize the neck. Maybe throw away isnt the right term here but i digress.. I think it was the jazz lessons that really helped.. as you can't rely on patterns and must know the chords and melody to accent accurately and since the chords are changing so quickly, there is no "fake it to make it"

One technique that is overlooked mainly because its hard to teach and everyone has their own way but, maybe a word on the importance of the picking hand. Really its a matter of coordination and wether you have it or you dont, or you have to work like crazy to get it but, the picking hand is the conductor so timing must be impeccible, or close to it.

What a great video. I have three friends that are pro guitarists. Unfortunately we live in different parts of the country so I do not have the luxury of hanging out with them all the time and learning guitar. Well here's my solution. I purchased the Essential Sequences 3 Note Per String Edition. Very well laid-out course. I have already improved my guitar playing off of Robert's KZbin videos. Looking forward to this taking me to a new level. Thanks!! Greg

it's not a trick, it's creativity and orginality which seems a far cry from what you showed here, but i guess it's interesting to the dumbo's. stop acting like a teacher unless you can show something actually sounds amazing,
