God, I live on Lovejoy St. between Flanders, Kearney, and Quimby. (They're all alphabetized. ) I haven't thought about the Simpsons connections in years. Though Dolph is actually Davis and Van Houten is Vaugh.

Portland has more dispensaries than McDonalds, more strip clubs per capita than any other city in the US, the world's largest naked bike ride, and a big beer/food and weird for the sake of weird culture. FWIW the "werid" reputation is kind of exaggerated in popular culture BUT seeing a guy riding a unicycle while wearing a darth vader helmet with a kilt while playing bag pipes is also completely normal - even when he makes appearances with a guy who raps about cats. So maybe I'm just numb to it at this point.

I remember when PDX49 was airing The Simpsons they had a special block called the pillars of Portland which during the week airs a episode focusing on one character named after a specific street in Portland.

Yes, Quimby Street is real, but the Quimbys were named after the street. Beverly Cleary was from Portland and the Ramona books are set there. Klickitat Street from the books is also a real place.
