You should make your walls connect on both ends. This makes it so you can just walk around when the cat blocks you. Alternatively/additionally, you could just have a bunch of doors. That way you could have multiple guests over and throw your pizza party once and for all!

I've got a video idea for you. The Modular house. Each room is only 1 tile wide, and each room is disconnected from the others. So the kitchen is just a door and a stove, and then they have to leave to go walk to another room(building) to either eat or sleep or what have you. No rooms can touch or connect except at corners maybe.

When he invited the guests and then adopted a cat, I kept thinking he was going to get blocked in one of those corridors, prompting him to miss work, which would result in a performance decrease or worse... getting fired. IMO the smartest option would have been to rent that 1-tile house for 1000$ simoleons... just like in real life. :P
