Can't speak for anyone else, but I would honestly much prefer that LGR do reviews of old TS1 and 2 expansions/stuff packs or even re-review TS3 content than yet another TS4 expansion. Even putting aside "is TS4 actually a good game?" and "were the older Sims games better?" arguments, Clint obviously has his heart more in the older games and it shows in how much happier he is here than in TS4 videos, and I think there is some value in going back to the older content with a more retrospective and/or critical eye.

Fun fact: Happy Holiday Stuff was the last Sims related thing done by Maxis Emeryville studio. Sims development moved to The Sims Studio (also known as Maxis Redwood Shores) which works on Sims to these days, while Maxis Emeryville moved to Spore and later the infamous SimCity 2013, after whose "success" the studio was closed down. One aspect of the summoned Santa that kept happening to the players I hung around with, was how he'd inevitably move into your sim's bathroom. Just bogart the toilet for an hour at a time, often multiple times per visit, and you can't get him out because of the privacy mechanics that forbid low-relationship sims from walking in on each other. Here's a guy you cannot control, who doesn't live there, whom you just met. Surprise: your Christmas present is having to build another bathroom.

God I remember the days of Sims expansions coming out on physical discs! Me and my friend used to play Sims 1 on his PC, and we actually used to be able to rent the newest Sims expansions from our local Blockbuster! The game only needed the base game disc to boot it up, so we ended up with probably about 5 or 6 expansions installed. That was until _one of the expansions_ actually required the disc from the expansion to boot the game up. Obviously we had only rented it so it went back to the store after a few days, and our install of the game was rendered unplayable! We actually went out and bought a copy of the expansion so we could start playing again, but because it had a different 'key' to the copy we'd installed, it wouldn't work on version. The only way for us to get the game playable again was to uninstall everything and re-install the base game and the new expansion, but we'd also lose those other 6 expansions we'd previously rented. Kinda killed our enthusiasm to keep playing, knowing we'd have to buy 6 separate expansions to keep the game as we were used to it! Classic Sims. Never make anything simple, do they?

I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited for a game as I was for the Sims 2 when it came out and it did not disappoint. Thanks for this blast of nostalgia, I haven’t seen the sims 2 ui in forever, great STUFF!

Can't believe this stuff is already about 20 years old.

I remembered a variation of "Let's Get It Started" by Black Eyed Peas being used to advertize The Urbz, around the same time

That "Ooga-chaka" made me laugh out loud. I was already hearing it in my head. So I got the first Holiday one and the a little later got the Deluxe Edition, with Night Life included. Not wanting to lose Night Life, I've always wondered what I was missing from the Holiday Pack. Now I know. :%)

Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, Happy New Year, and enjoy your time off. 20 years is crazy! Yes, aging is a thing.
