Appaloosa Plains is a much better world than I remember it being. I played it for the first time a few months ago, and started a romance with one of the townies, Calvin Riffin. When my Sim went to stay over with him, I noticed he lived with two kids, who were his siblings. After reading their biography, I realized they were all orphans who’s parents were in a tragic fire. Two of the chairs at the dining table were pulled out, and their parents’ room was locked with the ashes on the dresser. Every night their parents’ ghosts would roam around the house, so I sadly moved them to the cemetery. But I was in awe at how much dark lore there was within this small family. Edit: omg their dad, Clement Riffin, was the ghost driving the car, I’m done lmao

Fun fact: The state of Missouri in the US has an official state dance. It is the square dance. Don't ask me how many years in a row in elementary and middle school PE that we had to learn how to do it.
@toodleloos Жыл бұрын
They do it in Illinois too, or maybe it's because we're so close to Missouri. But yeah if we learned nothing else, we learned that square dance 🤣😭

Instead of a bone shaped pond, I think one shaped like a fish would have been better. It works on multiple levels: it’s where fish live, cats like fish, dogs (usually) like fish, raccoons like fish (though I don’t remember if the S3 raccoons wandered to the parks or not). I don’t recall if we were able to have aquariums in S3 anymore, but a fish pond that you could catch fish in to put in your aquarium would also have amused me.

as a horse girl i can't recommend trying riding enough. i've been riding for like 15 years lemme tell you cantering truly does feel like flying, best of luck!
@naomi-art-stuff Жыл бұрын
how do you get into it? I know I want a horse someday but I rly dont know anything abt it
@RachelKatWalsh Жыл бұрын
@@naomi-art-stuff best way is to just search maps for a local riding school if there is one and start up some lessons! it's unfortunately expensive but sometimes shorter sessions shared with other riders can be cheaper. once you're confident you could volunteer to help out at a stable if u have time or even start a horse share which is where you help take care of a horse alongside some other people!
@ZVLiveInLove Жыл бұрын
As a former horse girl, I'd also like to add that while canter is like sitting in a rocking chair, the hand-gallop truly takes your breath away! Since the horses I rode tend to be barn sour, I've only done the latter a handful of times. There are some aspects I miss about horse riding, but after having a traumatic near-death experience... I'll leave that to the professionals, thank you very much.

Hey, Plumbella. If you see this, thank you. I understand so bad when you talk about your anxiety and mental health, and it's nice to know that there's someone else who gets it. I can't go to normal school because of my anxiety(and autism) and I often struggle with feeling so anxious about something I'm excited about that I have to actively fight my brain so that I don't cancel. I often can't really walk outside of groups or short distances, and have to fight to not open doors to ovens or microwaves to make sure I don't have things in there that would cause firez or the like, even if I know in my head I don't. Though you may not have experienced these specifically, knowing that there's someone I admire that struggles with their mental health and anxiety is so nice. Also, you being autistic and making that video about it really helped me get over my imposter syndrome around autism. So yeah, thanks for being so unapologetically yourself because it makes me feel like maybe I'm not all bad.

this makes me so happy omg. horses are actually so sensitive to human emotion and often act as "mirrors" for people through their body language! it sounds like that would mean it's difficult for people who can't usually read body language to understand horses, but the reality is usually somehow the exact opposite. horses are AMAZING for practising emotional regulation in people who are traumatised, experiencing dementia, neurodivergent, or otherwise find it difficult to connect with or "read" people! i haven't done anything equestrian since i was a kid because time/money/ability to access a horse are all limited for me, but i visited an equestrian centre as part of my master's in animal behaviour, and learning about horses really ignited the horse girl in me that never got her chance to shine. it just makes me so happy to see someone else my age (even though it's 100% never too late) who also wants to start horse riding!

For the Game Guide video, you could do a series analyzing big features from each game that are featured in the guides. The original Sims 1 guide is a bit shorter at 57 pages long, but it's written in an interesting way and has info about The Sims Creator tool and Will Wright. Might be worth looking into!

I loved sims 3 horses so much, and this was great! I always felt the international races were a good example of something the sims 3 did So Well, which was 'hidden' skill modifiers. Like reading more unique books made your writers write books that were worth more. Those skill tracking numbers and small skill challenges added so much gameplay that you didn't think made an impact, until you compared ease of winning an international race with just the high skills vs winning the race with the high skills and all do-able skill challenges done (meaning a bunch of advanced race wins on yours and the horses stats)

Also, the pets aren’t so needy like they are now, so you can have more than one and like a job without having to worry about ur pet running away. Also the world is really cool. Okay I know the line dancing part was a short part but I’ve been line dancing 1-2 days a week for the last year and I LOVE it. You get the fun of dancing in a group but it doesn’t usually require a partner and one you know the dance you can know what’s going to happen every time! One of my favorite easier ones is Redneck Angel which we do to a song called Merry Go Round 😊 there are so many more fun ones but I’m blanking on the dance names on them right now 😂

so for YEARS i've swornnnnn that there was horses in sims 4 pets too, and i think watching this i think that was an elaborate dream??? i will be VERY intrigued to see if the one part of gameplay i remember looks the same (there was a place that you could take your horse, like a training class area? i think? and the jumping looked VERY specific and there was a pond in one of the training paddocks?)...... so either i just really wanted horses in sims 4, or i'm psychic, we'll see.
