The Sims 3- Open Grocery Store and Restaurants Tutorial

In this video I explain how you can have an open grocery store, with an active career, and an open and functioning restaurant without using the store set! Here are the mods I use in the video:

I'm still a big fan of TS3. Sims 4 sucks imo. Sims 3 and 2 I really loved but 4 they seemed to be lazy with the production of it. I never play TS4.

i know this video is like 3 years old but your tutorials for replacing the rabbitholes has like, blown the game wide open for me. i was always unbothered about it (and thought doing that would be intimidating) but since seeing sims 2 grocery stores and stuff i've wanted that in the game my computer doesn't completely hate running. i'm building a little convenience store in amberville right now and i'm getting way too excited about it. also shoutout to around the sims 3 for being the savior of community lot cc.

You don't really need any mods to have a functional restaurant, just the Into the Future EP. That EP came with a food synthesizer that, when placed on ANY community lot, generates waiters and adds an interaction to every table so you can order food.

I discovered by pure accident that with the Bistro mod you can also click on a table and choose to eat "outside" so that you have control over where your sim sits.

I think the business as usual bistro premium content works better but this is good for people who can’t afford it

I love this open grocery store alternative to the store savvy seller set for the persons who don't have the set! I have the store set along with Ani's mod version which makes it even more immersive, but this is a good alternative. For the OFB ticket machine, the sims usually gather right where the machine is and take some time before they disperse, so that's why they are crowding the door.

Thank you for your video! I think this might be what I'm looking for. I'm a little confused on some things. You say you copied the buildings from the rabbit holes...do you have to do this? Can you not just build your own restaurant and then get it active like you did? Also do the servers make money? Is there a way to use your own sims as servers and for them to get paid doing it?

The registers can be found in build mode, you’ll click on the community objects where you’d find rabbit holes, and from there choose the miscellaneous section.

I've used that mod before but it bothered me because sims rarely autonomously shop from inventory so my sims never sold any of their stuff. Everyone just bought coffee lol.

I would not recommend it for that. You could invest in the rabbit hole like a regular bistro, then use register mod to assign your own sims to work as the waiters. It won’t be like sims 2 or sims 4 though.

I still play sims 2 on pc with all my exp packs especially for my store business with my H&M store & restaurant. So which should I try out? I'm eager to get into the newer sims games for the more realistic business retail tycoon type like whichever has the newer add ons vs sims 2. Should I try sims 3 or sims 4 for the business type? I'm so in love with sims 2 so which do you recommend me to try out? Sims 3 or 4?

Tbh neither Sims 3 or 4 will be perfect for that kind of retail gameplay sadly. Sims 3 does have a new mod that mimics Open For Business but it’s not exact. Sims 4 is probably a little better for business gameplay but it is still not as good as Sims 2 I fear.
