@@Tusskie My brother was the same. Most of his scars before age 14 or so. The worst was age 11. He was playing kick-ball on wet grass at school, slid and hit his knee on a brass sprinkler head. The people at the ER were shocked that he didn't snap his patella because it went all the way through to the bone. His corduroy pants were soaked with blood below the knee.

Two of my worst scars are from when I was 7 or 8! The first was from a McDonald’s playground (80’s) bouncing Grimace, which actually scraped my shin bone. The other was from riding a Krazy Karpet tied to a snowmobile, through a cornfield. Do not recommend. I have a large facial scar from that one, my cheek was cut from my mouth almost to my ear. It’s almost invisible though, unless I’m wearing makeup. Also, I completely get how you need to relate everything to yourself. I do the same thing, and I’m also autistic.

Look up “digitigrade suits”. There are fur suits that have animal legs, aka digitigrade. Any addons would still make it a furry since it’s a wolf that stands on two legs.

I think varied body types would help. They all look like a costume instead of a real body if that makes any sense? Like why can't the female/makes look more different from each other? Bigger/smaller ears, different shoulders, small/large chest, skinny/beefy, more varied snouts, bigger claws, TAILS. Idk cartoony werewolves can look non furry like but it doesn't seem like they even tried too.

It would make a WORLD of difference if the werewolves had unique body types instead of "Sim with fur". I'm thinking hunched like in Skyrim with big, broad shoulders and longer snouts. Yes, they would have to create new animations for them. No, that's not asking too much of them.

You would need to sacrifice interactions with regular items and activities for that, because it would need a new skeleton and the regular animations wouldn't apply. They would need to Remake or refit EVERY animation in the game. Every interaction. That's not work for the turnover of a pack.

As a consumer it's not my responsibility to make sure they get a good profit, it's my responsibility to decide what I would and wouldn't purchase from them and this poor level of quality isn't it. It seems to me that my wedding stories has now set a precedent for EA of giving the sims team shorter and shorter deadlines because they can release glitchy packs and just “patch it up” later

This last roadmap had shorter turnovers with a way smaller team. There's less people working on Sims 4 than ever. EA/Maxis are just pumping them out underbaked with not much care for QA, but this pack is a bit different for one big reason: Werewolves work using a couple of frameworks that are already built into the game. The CAS is based on the Cat and Dogs CAS framework, the skills and transformation are based on the Vampires, the Aspiration, story and packs are based on the Batuu framework. That makes things way smoother to work with, not like the Wedding ones, that is a new system that just try to overwrite and overpower regular Sims AI routines and fails completely because Sims are too stuck up and hard coded to follow a couple of things

imo, the traits are also faulty in that theres 1. just three available, which really limits how diverse a sim can be, and 2. there are too many non-personality traits. fx, being lactoce intolerant is Not a personality trait, and i dont wanna take up a traits slot for smth thats not personality

That's aspiration. We are definitely lacking traits. Some Moon related for normal Sims, fear of Werewolves maybe, a lot trait for Werewolf babies. Traits for Werewolves themselves are kinda included in the progress tree at least, so there is that at least.

You already have groups for that. Packs don't work like most people think they do. Packs are like the Empire and the Resistance in Batuu. They're groups with their leveling system and sidestory. You cant create your pack in the same way you can't create your team on Batuu. It's the same system and framework. "Creating your own pack" dont make sense in this system.

@@MiloKuroshiro simmers know how packs work. But please ask yourself why it has to be like that? I mean why did EA do it that way? Because it's less work on their part of course. But should it be this way? In my opinion it's a bad design and they should change it in the future. This is supposed to be a sandbox like game, where you play with life, however you want to. At least that's what the previous games were and what EA advertised when 4 released. I think being able to create packs is something that should be in the game. Especially because it makes the gameplay more customized to each simmer, adds depth and long-term gameplay and is in essence what the Sims does best. 🙂

@@MiloKuroshiro yes, this. It seems like it was a deliberate choice (not a workaround or shortcut or whatever) and it opens up other avenues of gameplay that group-style packs wouldn’t. In an ideal world it’d be cool if all of the options were available, or if you could customize and/or create packs yourself, but ideal is often not realistic when budgets and schedules are involved. I’m curious to see how many of the werewolf specific interactions get added to the Get Together groups. Whether or not it’s present, I’m sure modders will be able to do a lot to customize those systems.

I think one thing that would make the wolves less furry and less uncanny valley would be if they changed the legs from human legs to more canine legs. And maybe hunch the back a bit…idk, it’s weird looking at a Werewolf with human legs. Looks like a sim in a furry suit peace and love. The world looks really nice. Giving Pacific Northwest vibes, so it feels like home.

This. Exactly this. I have had to use MCCC so many times, jumping in and out of CAS, and once or twice I've had to recreate an entire Sim from scratch just to have their occult types (and to reset perk points for vampires and spellcasters, when I want to play a premade's background). I wish there was a way to reset those perk points, since the rest is doable with cheats. But yeah, I have accidentally made a spellcaster that I decide would make a better vampire midway through CAS and it's such a pain to not be able to just switch it like I can in Sims 3.

Am the same way Danni, it took stuff by FalseHope, Sacrificial and Zero to make them somewhat better. I personally like the prospect of having Katherine Pierce (sim based wonderfully on Katverse's version of her) killing others, and being evil, ditto Count Dracula (whom I've tried to base on the late yet delightfully yummy Christopher Lee's portrayal of him). Yet there's no (as said previously) opportunity to create your own vampire group and take over. Even worse, Forgotten Hollow's like so very small, I generally have my vampire characters relocate to Windenburg, Willow Creek or Brindleton Bay as there are more lots there and have been using TMex's Create A World along with map mods to provide a much better look than in some cases a modern one due to my enjoyment of historical periods. That ea didn't even think to do any of the things others have done is disheartening

Seems to be a trend in later games with character customization, like in Fallout 76 when creating a character I end up constantly telling the char to *stop fecking moving.* They arch their eyebrows, smile randomly, and look around a lot when they should really hold still (especially as unlike in Fallout 4 from whence the assets are ripped, Fallout 76's player characters aren't involved in cutscenes that animate their faces).

I think the disconnect for me with the appearance of werewolves is that, for how grungy and torn up/dilapidated the world and clothes seems to be (as well as how werewolves tend to be characterized in other places) the werewolves are not scary enough. Like I feel like I'm just watching the dog version of the Cats movie because everything seems so soft and smooth and disarming. Even with the scars, bites, and ear notches they don't seem threatening at all. Completely takes me out of it.

Paragraphs of descriptive text isn't cutting it for me. Kind of like the table you mentioned with the book propping up one of the legs, that's a perfect example of showing evidence of some kind of story. Sims 3 really excelled in that.

It's the lack of tails for me, smh 😤 The uncanniness, for me at least, comes from the head just not matching the body, as well as the body itself. The head is too small and short, and the body is too long and straight. I wish the body was more bestial-anthro, but I suppose their choice for body was to reduce the amount of animations they'd need to redo. Regardless, I'm just glad they look more wolf-like than the Sims 3 werewolves! BUT THEY NEED TAILS. I really do wish they would have incorporated more integration with pets, such as being able to play tug-of-war with dogs (like you can with other wolves), chasing cats, etc. (and it would have been so cool to get the pack leader wolf like in TS2!). The lack of new traits is honestly abysmal.

I would kill for better 3D in-game facial hair. This pack really should have included some patchy beards, unkempt beards, and DEFINITELY some proper scruffy sideburns. I say this as someone who makes maybe 25% of my Sims as male, because of the lack of options for them in general. I personally feel like they should’ve made the werewolves look similar to the Worgen from World of Warcraft. In my opinion, the werewolves/ worgen from that game look stunning and very cool, and it would be cool to see a similar structure of werewolves with modern day clothing in the sims 4. I just feel like the Sims 4 ones look weirdly disproportionate (probably cause I’m used to the WoW worgens) but I know they’re probably just trying to use the same outlines/ structure as to how you would customize their human form/ a normal sim.

I'm a console player and I really agree with the items in debug being put as real decorations bc on console you have to activate cheats to yk have moveobjects, liveedit and stuff but when you activate cheats it takes away your ability to have achievements. I feel like I should be able to have my plant closer to my desk or have free landscaping without not being able to have achievements.

I wonder if the werewolves will be better at gaining medium ability skill like the spellcasters can. I haven't tried with vampires yet but I have a feeling it will work good. Like you gain spellcaster purple gains from preforming with ghosts from paranormal stuff. So I'd hope that since they are werewolves they'd have a faster natural ability to learn to speak to ghosts and cast the circles.

The fact that a sim with a dormant werewolf trait can swim in the lake and activate the trait reminded me of really old werewolf lore I learned about in a video by Overly Sarcastic Productions, I think the story was about ancient Roman humans who would take a dip in a river and come out the other side a wolf, then they’d have to spend like seven years as a wolf and resist eating humans or meat in general, and if they were good in that seven years they’d get to be human again, but I don’t remember all the details exactly so I’d really recommend the original OSP video on Werewolves for the accurate story

I had a werewolf sim who was engaged to another werewolf and when I met his family, turns out his sister was my sim's mate. My sim became tense when flirting with her fiance cause she felt tense that she wasn't with her mate. Got really awkward real fast 💀

@@doga9670 I have a feeling that the cats/dogs painting tool and some mods can easily fix most of the issues with the werewolves’ appearances, so if that’s the only thing that’s holding you back, I might wait a little while for new mods to come out and for players to get the chance to experiment with the customization, then reevaluate how you feel about it. If you look on the Sim Gurus’ Twitter accounts, you can see a wide variety of werewolves customized with the paint tool, some of which look very cuddly and harmless while others look more like traditional scary movie werewolves. You might be able to find an example there that’s more your style :)

I dont think the problem with the designs is that they look "too furry" (I mean, I think if you asked a furry they'd also think the werewolves look uncanny), I think the problems are that they have very very short snouts (to fit the normal sim animations), which make their faces look squashed, and their legs would look better looking more like a wolf's, but again, they are the way they are to fit normal sim clothes... The question is whether it's better to have uncanny werewolves that don't break the animations/clothes or have good looking werewolves that need entirely new animations and clothes...

Honestly I think EA should take cues on the modding community more. Often it's mods and content creators that save/ fix games that lack certain options or level of customizability especially for this series. Take Skyrim for example: The option to build a house was actually a mod before the dlc that added that option came out. I think different werewolf styles should've been available too, such as "The wolfman" style, or Classic sims 2 Werewolf style and then the new style or some such other option.. but hey that's why the modding community exists right?

I pre-ordered so I am now excited instead of anxious. I do wish there was more changes you could implement to the werewolves physical form. I'm not really a person who likes "scary" things but I adore werewolves that look the ones in "Van Helsing" or "The Order". These guys seems to look like they are wearing body suits. Like I legit think I could join in with my sloth onsie and I would fit right in lol. I am sad I can't get mods on my console that could help me with this 😮‍💨. I was also curious about whether humans who entered the town would always know about werewolves, or if the whole world knows about them being real? Because the transformations in public seem like they would end up on the sims internet sources fairly quickly. So I was just curious if that was explained and how it would be explained. Like maybe werewolves have glamors or maybe the werewolf community has a deal with the government so the sims won't find proof of their existence (such as videos or pictures) on the internet, or something along those lines. (Sorry I kinda wrote a whole novel lol. I'm a bit of a chatter box 😅).
