I completely agree about the head accessories. It makes it so that you can’t really wear a turban with like a suit and tie for example instead of the more traditional South Asian suit which is so limiting. I think wide multi-colored stripes which include all the primaries are hard to style for formal wear. So minimizing the use or subverting the motif is the way to go. Like instead of an entire lapel, maybe the piping could be rainbow striped, which shows attention to detail while also not overwhelming. Or if it were pastel like that one white dress. I think a good rule is to have it be more thoughtfully incorporated instead of stamped on top.

@@SimberPlays Another way to go with be just using the color palettes of the flags to incorporate into the clothing. Or if they wanted to use all the colors, they could have used a softer gradient. I'm very proud to be a lesbian, but I don't want my flag sewn into the dress. Even people outside of our community would absolutely be enamored with a rainbow dress, or clothing in the colorscheme of the pretty and soft pastels of the transgender flag. I've seen a ton of CC that already utilizes the flags' colors into gradients, that look a lot more flattering.

The way I would want it is every sim gets 1 outfit per each of the categories (everyday, formal, sleepwear, hot, cold, etc.) at the beginning. That way they at least have a unique free set of outfits to start out with. Then any additional clothing items need to be purchased with simoleons.

25:13 “It’s the gameplay that lets it down.” This has literally been the problem with The Sims 4 since the base game in 2014. If you have a lackluster base, it’s inevitable that there will be lackluster expansions. They would have to build the game *from the ground up* at this point in order to make it worthwhile, as the lackluster ~mechanics~ of the game at its core just *doesnt* allow for the deeper stories that players found in Sims 2 and 3. The Sims 4 is still gorgeous, but “potential” only gets you so far. It’s been nearly eight years and still the gameplay has never gotten more of a “meh” from me, personally.

My Mum's wedding to my step Dad was drama free. But then it was only a super small wedding of just close family and a couple of friends. And the venue staff were fantastic at making sure that the alcohol was free flowing enough yet also controlling how much certain people could have without them realising. For their first anniversary we all met up at the same place again for a meal. And there wasn't really any drama at my Grandpa's wedding, or any of my friends weddings I've been to. They were all pretty chill actually. I thought overly dramatic weddings was just a thing that happened on TV. Perhaps I've just not gone to large enough of a wedding? Or have calmer friends?

@@202cardline I'm personally more of a fan of the sort of thing you see on off beat bride than the more subtle stuff, and have seen bright rainbows done very well (Like a big poofy tulle skirt in all the colours), so its not just the issue with it being too much or rather not understated enough. They really just didn't think of creating a specific design which would look good in rainbow, they just shoved the rainbow flag texture onto a piece not designed with that in mind like it was an afterthought. Like "oh don't forget the gays" and they just slap the flag on last minute. 😂 Though this whole pack reeks of minimal effort spent. Like the higher ups want everyone busy working on Sims 5 and just gave them a few hours to put something out for this pack so they just had to do whatever was quickest. Bam 3 outfits for guys with the only difference being the headwear. Can't spend extra time splitting the meshes to make an accessory, oh no. Work on one mesh with everything on it.

I am always surprised how soulless a lot of sims gameplay is. There are always so many possibilities to give the game a little bit more depth, yet the implemented interactions are always very shallow. It just seems that there is no passion behind the game. I am sure a lot of people who work on sims love their work, but something definitely has to change, so that the people with ideas are able to implement them.

I'm personally really not a fan of just having versions of the adult hairs for children. It's nice to have some but the fact they just aren't making new kids' hairs is really disappointing to me. You don't have the same hairstyle your whole life so I like having that variety across the age groups. I do like it sometimes but I do wish they'd have some new things being made

I'm not defending anything else about the pack but for the veil that came with the pack to fit with say, the afro that came with the pack (or any other hair with a lot of volume on top) they'd basically have to alter the hair mesh for the veil to not clip through. And they'd have to do this with every other hair in the game and every hair that comes out after. There's a reason there aren't any hair accessories like headbands or clips you can just attach to any hairstyle. It's really dumb that there's only one veil in the pack though. I think they could've at least given us a few different veiled hairstyles with different hair textures/lengths.

again, feminine frame attire has a lot of amazing things but i wish there were more androgynous pieces for both frames. there's the really awesome pantsuits and im super happy with those, but especially if they were displayed in the masc frame first, something with a large skirt and puffy sleeves, stuff like that. id be interested to see someone put the feminine dresses on a masc frame so i can see if they mesh well, if they dont it wouldve been nice for them to automatically include a dress/skirt outfit for masc frames

You can actually toggle on/off the feminine or masculine tag in cas. I usually put my male Sims in that basegame puffy butterfly crop, since I like how it looks. Dresses tend to fall a bit weirdly on male Sims though, I've noticed they go slightly flatter

@@justaperson4656 I think what the OP is saying is that the Creator Networkers (Gamechangers) didn’t try the feminine frame cas items on the masculine framed sims in their showcases of the new assets, so we have to wait at least 1 week to see if they work well. A lot of focus was on the masculine assets being available for feminine framed sims but none the other way around, or any neutral items that work for both. And it would be nice if the dresses and pantsuits looked nice on both for the sake of inclusivity :)

i know it's a meme that weddings in this game are clown fiestas, but i've had some very successful weddings after putting some work in. I select and design the venue, have my sims cook up a few dishes, including their own wedding cake, and pick their outfits. i then control essentially everything during the event itself, which im plenty fine with doing. what im getting from this review is that im gonna still have to do all that, just with the disillusion that things will be better. im really struggling to see how this is going to be a better experience than one i can already conjure up.

I was rewatching a Sims 3 LP the other day and happened upon a wedding episode. It was so chaotic, a Sim was booing the bride loudly and walking in the way of the camera while the other Sims were watching and crying happily. (I mean, granted they were all standing as Sims 2 is the only Sims game I know of that has guests ACTUALLY sit down to watch lol but still) Then I watched a compilation of the buggy official Sims 4 live stream and holy crap it was so lame in comparison. Like I don't hate the Sims 4 or anything but WOW the difference was disappointing. Hope they can work out the bugs because I feel bad for everyone who was excited (I haven't played in almost two years myself, been playing Sims 2 and 3 exclusively)

Yeah, the inclusivity in this pack feels borderline insensitive. It's nice being able to wear some cultural outfits, but headpieces being locked to them makes it feel like you either have to completely abandon that culture or just go all out. Got the same vibe from the pride swatches too. The most tacky items in existence that I cannot see anyone ever wearing because it feels borderline offensive to even look at lmao. I was hoping the gameplay would work, but oh well, it's the sims. I guess we need to either wait and see if it's fixed in the final release or hope some modder makes a fix patch for it.

The inclusivity is very shallow. Basically just one or two outfits from other cultures, but the options for the wedding gameplay are really western. It would have been a good opportunity to incorporate wedding traditions from other cultures, not just the outfit. For example there are many special events leading up to the wedding in Asian (central, south, south east, and east), middle eastern and African cultures. They didn't have to include all of them, but maybe picking one south american, one african, one middle eastern, and/or an east asian culture and expanding just a tiny bit on the traditions for those would have really elevated the pack. Things like giving a dowry, putting on henna, traditional singing or prayers, etc and the option to have other forms of wedding jewelry (like in some asian traditions they give a necklace in place of a wedding ring). But then maybe some of that would have been too controversial. And maybe it's a bit too much to expect from EA anyway

A thing that came to mind with them locking the headpieces in with the clothes was that, would it have caused an uproar if the automatically generated townies would end up walking around with a cultural headpiece on their head while wearing something that clashes with that culture really bad? Your wedding venue is beautiful! I agree that head accessories should have been separate. I was surprised there was no long veil available at all. While I like that kids get the adult hairstyles, I wish toddlers, children and teens also had their own separate unique hairstyles as well since IRL kids usually have different dos from their parents that they "outgrow". It would also help teens be more distinct. Pretty world, but if they don't fix the gameplay bugs the pack won't be worth buying on launch.

It has cool BB, hit-miss CAS and barely any new gameplay (especially for a GP), and even that is buggy as heck - and no, I don't believe they'll fix that any time soon, if ever. I mean, look at Dine Out, the poor pack would be pretty decent if it weren't an unplayable mess. I think what makes me the most disappointed is that despite what the trailer showed, there are absolutely no preferences that would change how things go at any point. This would've been a perfect opportunity to cleverly reuse DHD's system for cake, colour, food, location, etc preferences...

it would have been cool if (like others had mentioned already) if the sims team utilised the like and dislike system a bit more when it came down to the 'planning', like if they do the cake testing (if that is even a thing and/or that feature gets fixed in the final release) if there was some specific likes and dislikes that the sims can acquire to give an idea of what cake to buy or make for them to be happy, and if they get a cake they dislike, make every interaction with the cake negative and vice versa. same with the wedding dress venue, instead of it just being a wardrobe to change, it could have been cool if there was like a 100 simolian like 1-4hr long rabbit hole service for each sim to pay for and what it would do was give a few colour and cloth style likes and dislikes to kind of narrow down a specific style for a sim to either make them their happiest or make them miserable depending on what the player decides to make them wear based on what the service gave them. like the potential for that with the like and dislike system seemed to really go to waste here, unless by some miracle they actually have something like that in the final version, but i feel like that would be too big to hide and not clarify it at least exists if it did.

I feel so disappointed with this pack, the video was great and I love your review of it but so much just feels missing. As some people have said below, why is there no wedding planning job? Why aren't veils are on their own, I have a shaved head and would wear a veil in real life but I can't in game. As you mentioned to the drama where is it?! I want to ruin a wedding since I'd never do it in real life aha It just feels like EA took this idea and watered it down added in micromanaging and went you'll be happy with it right?

I would LOVE to have to buy clothes in the sims 4. That would be a fun excursion. Also, don’t know how they would do it, but male shirt outfits that unbutton (and maybe layering undershirts also) would be amazing. Rarely do we guys go through a whole day with the same amount of buttons buttoned. But… we can dream right?

I love the usage of the set to make shops and stuff like that... can kick out some of the townies from their lots and put them in the dressing too (like they did with Michael Bell in CL). If we could free up some lots by putting the role assigned townies in sets then that would be amazing! Also i wish they had used the eco lifestyle feature of community lots for wedding venues where you could rotate multiple venues to save space.. I'm running out of game room

I have no use for elaborate weddings in my gameplay and this pack looks like a huge nightmare to navigate anyways. Even if everything worked as planned the gameplay is so boring and would be too much work to bother with. What I want in the game is to have memories back like in the earlier games, so I can look back and reminisce on their story. It made the sims feel so much more real and would make me like actually care if they died or if they crossed a certain milestone. Otherwise it's like every sim is the exact same and can be replaced with no consequences. I might as well just make a brand new family every time if I can't remember exactly how this old story was going. I also want more random alien abductions, like I've only had a sim get randomly abducted (and not part of the science career) once

Thing I hate about pretty world's is that YOU experience it, rather than your sim, making in it a one-time experience. Snowy escape included hikes which is the only way several Sims can enjoy scenery, but other than that, you can't do it in any other world. This would have been the perfect opportunity to add 'take a walk with...' :(

Been looking forward to moving my Montys from Windenburg to Tartosa! I had them all live on the small island where the bluffs are, but a more Mediterranean inspired world fits their side much much better!
