This is an awesome game, but it's not sandbox like the regular Sims games are. That being said, I really enjoy this as a diversion. :) There are several achievements in the game (you can see what you need to fulfill them), and the more you complete, more stuff gets unlocked in buy/build/cas mode.

If anyone is experiencing problems with playing The Sims Medieval on windows 10. There are a few tricks for it. My husband looked into it for me a few years back and got my game running. You need to play on a very low screen resolution. Otherwise the game will not even open. I also believe we downloaded it on origin. I have a gaming lap top and the graphics and resolution is extremely high. It plays a big factor into games. Most sims games run more smoothly with lower res settings. Especially the sims Medieval, good luck :)

It is the precursor to the swimming pool. Modern Sims just found a secondary use for it and used more refined materials.

Yes. You can choose your character (hero) and go "Freeplay", which is basically daily tasks and no quests. You can switch heroes if you want. It's pretty cool.
